This guy is at the Thursday Oceanside Farmer's Market now! If you're wondering why his brick-and mortar store has poor hours, this is probably one of the reasons why. This business breathed new life into my opinion of farmers markets- in a world where buying local is now typically more expensive than going to chain grocery stores, the prices here are very modest. I am super happy! He had mini succulent gardens for 3$, hanging plants at 10$ each or 2 for 15. I found a bird nest fern for 15$, including taxes. There is a 50-cent credit card usage fee, and that's certainly reasonable. While I do look forward to shopping at his actual nurseries, I will happily make weekly pilgrimages to the Oceanside Farmer's Market to see what he has to sell.

My daughter told me about Jessie's place years ago. I've been coming ever since and bringing family and friends. The selection is wide enough and the plants are very healthy and you can't beat the price.

I discovered this plant store at kobeys swap meet. The owner is a nice guy and his plants are affordable. Sometimes he has sales on some of the plants too. Just be sure to follow his Instagram updates on where he's selling on which dates. Because it changes sometimes. I make sure to stop by his booth every time I go to the swap meets or Farmer's market.

I have purchased many plants from the swap meet booth owned by this same place so when I found out they had a nursery I was pretty excited. I have had good luck with plants I have bought from them so this review is not about the plants. It is about the horrible experience I had there today. I called ahead to find out their hours and to make sure they took a card so I didn't have to make an extra stop at the ATM, and was told they did take a card. His exact words on the phone were "we take a card but cash is better." I drove 40 minutes to this place and looked around for a while, piled all my stuff up and the woman (who was very nice) added up my purchase and it came to $106.00. OK, handed her my card and she said she didn't take a card. I said "I called this morning and was told that you do, so I didn't stop to get cash." She said she had to ask the guy in the back. He came out and said "I told you cash is better." WOW. REALLY? I said "yeah, you did say that but as the customer... isn't it up to me if I want to pay with cash or card?" Then he said he was going to have to charge me a $3 fee! I said he should have told me that on the phone, then ....the kicker! He said, "well I think I will charge you tax then if you don't want to pay the fee. we don't charge tax." I said, "Look, it has nothing to do with me if you charge tax or what you do, but you should tell people you will charge a fee because that would kind of make them want to pay in cash." He clearly didn't comprehend the point I was making and continued to be rude and argue with me. Finally I just said to charge my card so I could go. He did, I paid a $3 fee because I used a card, and he wheeled my stuff to my car. I will NOT go back. I will also not buy anything from the swap meet after this. The guy must be family or he would not have a job with an attitude and business practices like this. There are so many other reasonable places around if you look, don't bother going here.UPDATE: JUST CHECKED MY CARD AND I WAS CHARGED $112 TWO TIMES FOR MY PURCHASE TODAY. Now I will have to dispute the charge.

The had a really cute stand at the Little Italy Farmers Market, and their plants were very well priced. However when I took my adansonii home most of the trailing leaves were cut for propagating. Meaning the plant would not continue to grow. Not very full, and most leaves fell on the drive home.I’ve heard great things and maybe it was just a bad day, but overall disappointed.

Planned to come so I called ahead to see if they have any Hoya. The guy is a bit rude on the phone so I guess it’s a no for my trip. I’m glad I called so I didn’t waste my time for place that didn’t welcome me. I’ll give him 5 star just so I can post this. Hopefully the owner change his attitude.

Literally the BEST prices in San Diego. You won't find the same plants here every time you visit, so I try to come often to see what's new for the week. His string succulents are overflowing, full and healthy!

Originally found out about Jessi Foliage and Plants from visiting my local farmers market on Thursday in Oceanside. He is very friendly and always offers amazing deals to the public. I try to visit the market or his shop once a week to see what is new. His plants are always top quality/great condition. If you haven’t had the chance of visiting his greenhouse, go check him out at one of his events!! Thanks Jessi!!

I am never going anywhere else for plants. All the plants here look so healthy and thriving and priced so fairly. I got this beautiful string of hearts and I’m definitely planning on going back for some of their massive pothos.

Jessi’s is amazing! I have been looking for the string of hearts plant for four years and he has them! The best part is that they are only $10! Jessi is really nice, super helpful, and really knowledgeable about plants. He has a really large selection of plants and they are all really healthy and affordable.
