Overly crowded store that is located in the worst location with terrible parking. The store isles are so tight that you can't even pass without having to back up and go around.

First, let me say that I’ve been going to the Encinitas Homegoods since it opened over 20 years ago. I love this store and have supported this store (even through Covid when they were so short handed). Their staff has always been pleasant until today. I went in to make a small return and then to shop and browse like I’ve done hundreds of times. The cashier was a sweet girl and went to go get the manager because I didn’t have a receipt (which has also happened a handful of times). The Homegoods sticker was clearly on the item and there was no damage to the item. The manager who I’ve never seen before, was a short man with long hair and who has ZERO customer service skills. He was rude and nasty, and said he couldn’t except the item back because I didn’t have a receipt. I said this has never happened before but he just walked away. I was stunned. Their policy in the past has been a store credit which is fine because like I mentioned, I shop in this store all the time and spend thousands and thousands of dollars every year. The cashier was so embarrassed and said I’m so sorry over and over again. Needless to say, I left and did not shop nor am I sure I will continue to shop in this store any longer. By the way, the item was only $16.99 so it’s not a big deal but the rudeness and unprofessional demeanor made me sick to my stomach. This store has always been a therapeutic place for me to kill time and it won’t feel the same moving forward.

Came in this morning around 10:30am to make some returns and I stood at what I thought was the line for returns since there was a sign that mentioned the return policy and had a retractable belt barrier, close to the first cash register. The lady at the first cash register just stared at me and gave me terrible looks, didn’t greet me or anything. I’m not sure if she was having a bad morning or something but I’ve never felt so uncomfortable by an employee there and I don’t believe I did anything that warranted that behavior towards me. I continued to stand there a bit confused because I noticed that she was taking customers from the purchase line, meanwhile she was still giving me these stares. I, then, asked her if this was the line to make a return, and she answered me that I had to form in the purchase line, and so I did. Again, I don’t understand what was her hesitation, if there was any, in helping me out. Terrible customer service on her behalf.

As an Interior Designer I appreciate the amazing selection and value pricing of Home Goods, especially for clients on a modest budget. The store is well organized, nicely styled, and the selection of merchandise is both classic and on trend. Where else can you get quality lamps under $100, large scale rugs under $400, and beautiful bed linens (often Pottery Barn and RH dupes!) that don't cost more than your actual bed?! Shopping on the weekend means longer lines but they really do move pretty quickly. You can get great bang for your bucks at Home Goods!

I just had the most wonderful experience at HomeGoods with Amy!!! She was so informative about the holiday decor that I was compelled to leave a review! She was so professional and so full of knowledge of store product. I was so impressed with her customer service. I couldn't of asked for a better experience with Amy!!!

Asked a couple of their staff about the price of an item that had no tag and didn't help me at all. Helped other customers first even though I asked first

Apparently you are not allowed to switch out the tops of lamps in this store. Despite the fact that most are missing the tops was scolded today by a manager when trying to find tops to match two lamps I was going to purchase. She said that the tops and shades and lamps are sets and it is frustrating when pieces are swapped. When asked why there was no sign to state this she share the company won't let them (probably because the company understands customer satisfaction). So despite the fact that only one of my lamps had a topper and no one could even tell me if it truly belonged with the lamp, they could not find a matching one in the back. So.... The store lost out on a $100+ sale because the manager thought it more important to keep toppers together in an environment where that clearly was not happening. Going somewhere with customer satisfaction.

I love Home Goods, they have a lot of outdoor stuff for the garden and I got pretty lucky today. It’s definitely hit or miss at this place. I wish this store was as big as the Solana Beach store.
