The salesman was very helpful in helping me find the FM2 I was looking for and going over the loading process for the film. Highly recommend this business

I have been here many times and the man at the front never makes eye contact or makes you feel welcome. Very impatient. I will now be supporting a different photo shop by going to a different shop. Do not recommend this place one bit except for the sweet lady at the front.

Cartoonishly awful customer service. I’ve been shopping there for 12 years and always found his notoriously curmudgeon attitude funny. But today, while PAYING for something, I asked a simple film photography question. He responded “I don’t care. Google it.” I laughed and said there’s no need to be rude. He responded “you’re a crybaby, don’t come back!” I’ve witnessed numerous similar interactions through the years. He makes it feel like you’re a hassle spending money in his retail space. Unless you like being treated terribly, shop elsewhere.

Great customer service when I went there to buy a lens. He went out of his way to provide insight, looked at every comparable lens to make sure I was getting the cleanest used lens out of what was available, and was very accommodating.
I plan to return here for my future needs.

I have been there many times customer service was great. The problem is people don't know how to talk with etiquette and respect. People need to learn how to adapt to first generation people with class. If there is no integrity then the result will be what you wish for. The owner is there to sell cameras and camera equipment not to make you eloquent citizen.

I called to ask a question, and in the middle of my question the guy hung up on me. That happened twice. After reading those reviews, I won't go there or call them again.

Horrible customer service. You call and Cecelia was so sweet but the owner this old grouchy old man is getting ready to retire and needs to go sit on the beach somewhere and stay away from customers.

Too busy to answer a question over the phone. Rudely hung up when I mentioned I couldn't come in.

Camera stores can be hit or miss. Since this is the only one in the area it’s not a bad choice

I want to support local businesses. Find another shop, unprofessional, slightly rude and dismissive is the best term to describe my interaction.

As a professional who just moved from a big city to this little town I can safely say this shop is as good as it gets. There’s no fluffy customer service, just good ole fashion know how. Come here for great vintage cameras, film, film processing, light equipment purchase (although if you need something more professional this is not your spot) and printing. I love this place. Reminds me of a New York or San Francisco locals shop. If you want the real deal this is it.

Came here because I wanted a good local film lab for some client work. Not a place I would come back to for film developing and scanning. There are way better options out there and for cheaper. Rewind Film Labs in LA is a good substitute if you are not on a time crunch and do mail in. That or State Film Labs. This is obviously a mom and pop shop and I wanted to use them since I love to support small businesses. They came across as rude which I don’t mind but doesn’t help. Scans were not good in my opinion. They also wanted to charge for online transfers which I opted out of. Had to ask a friend for a usb drive. If you want to get your film processed choose another spot.

So this there are some great things and also some "not so great" things about this shop. Great things: -Has some great film camera options as well as lenses at a fair price. - Also has a fair amount of film options for sale. - Gary is a knowledgeable guy when it comes to cameras. Not so great things: - Gary really needs a lesson in customer service skills. Honestly if he was better I would be coming back for more business. He can warm up to you if you are a regular but I have seen it first hand....if you don't know your stuff or ask questions, he is easily irritated and will brush you off and be very rude. - He developed my film at an average price which is fine but when I got the digitals back they were very off. The color was off and just developed strange. This is now forcing me to do them elsewhere and spending more money then I wanted to. Sadly I will not be returning to purchase anything from here again. Great customer service is crucial to have a flourishing business. I really hope he changes his way. Also, photography is a hobby a lot more people are getting into since the pandemic and it should be celebrated and encouraged by those who have been in the game for a long time. I hope he changes his perspective and is able to help guide those new photographers into loving it more instead of feeling not welcome and discouraged.
