Comerica is the administrator for Debit Express, the entity that handles the debit cards for Social security as well as the Beteran debit cards for our Veterans! Search Debit ExpressSCAM for important information. The FTC over sees their complaints! Such as ignoring the ETA law enacted in 1978. Currently, I'm dealing with a compromised debit card. direct Express denied my claim & closed my case w/o crediting my account with provisional credit, as required by the ElectronicTransfer fund act of 1978! Comerica is considered one of largest banks in the US, why do they use Direct Express for our Social security & Beterams debit cards?

This branch recently hired Michael Fletcher as VP. As such, it is outstanding. In 2012 Michael helped me open my first Comerica account at the Del Mar Heights branch. His customer service goes above and beyond and he really cares about doing an excellent job for his clients. Over the past two years the Del Mar Heights branch has gone done severely in customer service so I was ecstatic to learn that Michael Is back at Comerica. I have driven 20 minutes out of my way to bank at this branch rather because of the superior standards of customer service that Michael provides.

Just opened up my account with Comerica Bank and I'm already loving it. The team members are very friendly and everyone made me feel welcomed. Highly Recommend the Encinitas Branch!

Had an awesome experience with this bank. They answered all my questions and were very helpful when it came to opening an account. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Can't wait to continue banking with them in the future.

This branch is exceptional. Every time I come in, they always greet me by my name. They are so attentive to small details. I worked with the new banker Fabio. He's so knowledgeable and always going out of his way to help me not only with my finances but with my personal needs. Kuddos to the team. I can tell the manager Luke trains well his staff. Keep up the great job

I go here once a week and can say 95% of the staff here is great. There is one though that sits right in the center cubicle that can make you hate this place. Never have I seen such a sarcastic, rude, incredibly disrespectful person work in a place of service. I personally try to avoid any day she works and would actually stop coming here if it wasn't for April. She is great and always makes me happy when I leave.

Hands down the worst financial institution I have ever dealt with - from day one about a year and a half ago. Run don't walk!

I openned a business bank account here in 11/15 after some hassles at BankofAmerica. This has been the most dishonest and scammy business relationship I have had in 20 years as an entrepreneur. I pay 4 contractors through paypal. Paypal charges large fees some of which get back to the banks. Comerica unlike BankofAmerica which never charged me an extra fee has now charged me nearly 200 separate FEES.... vs. 0. I asked about additional fees when I moved it and they said NO. Then when I discovered them 2 months into this horrible relationship, they said, NO PROBLEM we'll remove and they did remove some ONCE, but after that- the weekly fees started right back up. I verified with 4 other banks that they don't charge these fees and Comerica said no problem we'd remove them but what they say and do are two different things. In early November 2016, I went into the branch and detailed my concerns but the manager wasn't there and they promised he'd call the next day - this was 3 weeks ago and nothing and another 18 fees have been assessed. Luckily 2 banks where i verified none of these paypal fees, have gotten back to me that they have pull at least 2 customers away from Comerica. During this period, I visited my father who has a Comerica account in Michigan and he has spend dozens of hours dealing with 2 hidden and unfounded fee situations earlier this year- he, after many hours, did get most of the issue resolved, but WHEN DEALING WITH COMERICA be vigilant for hidden fees (usually aggregated into one monthly "service charge".)

Worst experience ever! Ryan did not follow through on anything he said he would. Ignored us for weeks at a time and never did conclude our transaction. Steer clear of this place. They need to learn the meaning of customer service!!

Different than the larger banking brethren, this bank/branch will provide you with top notch, custom service and attention. They will know your name and treat you like a person and not a number. Yes, banking errors will happen (e.g. charges from corporate) but they will strive to make things right because they value their customers, large and small. If you come during rush hour you may need to wait however no longer than the wait at a bank that has four or five teller windows open and a long line of people snaking thru the lobby. P.S. Note that the poor reviews by Yelpers with 0 or few friends should carry an equivalent (zero or light) weight in your minds.

It is scary when there are extreme reviews ranging from 5 to 1. I can only write what I expereince and assuming that is what everyone else does. I work with Jaya Del Sordo. She provides service like one would expect-with a huge smile, a positive attitude and with grattitude. Jaya is honest, informative and delivers on her word. I have referred multiple people to her for new accounts and Equity Lines of Credit. She has delivered consistently and all customers have been happy. To eliminate the variation of expereinces, see Jaya, she will ensure you have the best banking experience possible.

This is the worst bank to do business with. The employees are always changing, the are so inept, will be changing banks soon. Don't waste your time!

They came into our business soliciting the employees to open a bank account claiming that it is free if we set up direct deposit. They know the owner of our company and I told them he does not offer direct deposit. They told me not to worry about it because they will give me a free checking account without it. I gave the gentleman $50 cash to start the account. It wasn't until I took my first paycheck there to cash it that I realized that they started a savings account for me WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!! I told them that I didn't authorize that and they said, "Don't worry, its free." I should have known to cancel my account then but they seemed so nice. A few months later I realized that they had been charging me a Maintenance Fee on my FREE Checking account with them. But since the maintenance fee overdrew my account they started charging me $6 every other day or so for it being overdrawn. I think it ended up giving me a negative balance of around $40 by the time I realized they were breaking their promise... I brought that to their attention and they told me they would refund the money and get it set up for free (like they had originally promised). They admitted that it was their mistake and credited all the fees they mistakenly tried to charge me. Funny, it gets worse!!! Another couple months goes by and I start getting collection calls calling on behalf of the bank! haha Really?! I know that I literally never use this bank for anything except cashing checks from my job so I knew that it couldn't be overdrawn from anything I did. I came into the bank to let them know and figured they would fix it like they have done EVERY OTHER TIME because they know what they had promised me... BUT, they're story changed this time. They said they had closed my account because both my checking and savings were overdrawn because they were both getting hit by miscellaneous fees left and right... even though I never even use this account! They said that they never promised me it would be free and it is MY RESPONSIBILITY to watch my account to see if they are overcharging me. haha WHAT!!?? The bank manager told me I need to take responsibility on my account and quit blaming them for everything. Not only are they so unorganized that they literally cannot get the software system to cooperate with their promise (quit charging me a maintenance fee) but they go back on their word. But the worse part is they not only are not admitting their mistake but they are actually trying to blame me now! What kind of a business does that? I would not recommend this bank to anyone.
