“Once again, Encinitas Foreign and Domestic Auto Repair to the rescue! My old car intermittently would not start, not the battery, as all the lights came on very easily and usually after 10 or 15 minutes it would suddenly start up again and run fine. One of the times this happened was in an underground parking garage, with a very low roof that was not only claustrophobia inducing but also made me worry how a tow truck was ever going to get in to tow my car if needed. Fortunately it started up again. Despite being short-staffed and very busy, Jonathan and the crew took my car in and had it for several days before the problem occurred again for them. Within a day and a half parts were ordered and the car was once again running well, with the fear of being stranded somewhere challenging and or late at night gone, a huge weight off my mind!
I can't thank Jonathan, Carlos and the mechanics enough for above and beyond Service as usual. This is an honest and excellent business and I highly recommend them.”

“I've been taking my cars to Coastal Foreign Auto for well over a decade. I live in Valley Center and I drive 45 minutes to get my cars to Coastal Foreign because I can trust Chris and Peter. They do outstanding work, at a fair price, and they don't pressure me to do additional work that isn't immediately needed. They will let me know if they find any other problems with the car and whether or not they need immediate attention or can safely wait until a future date. I don't feel pressured and I don't feel like they are trying to upsell me. On more than one occasion they have fixed quick minor issues and not charged me a dime, because it only took 10 minutes. Who does that anymore?

“I had wonderful experience with Herman Cook dealership last week. After wasting my time with another local dealership for years, I needed to make a change. I’m really glad I did! Ricardo was such a pleasure to work with. He was professional, knowledgeable and didn’t just ‘recommend’ work that didn’t need to be done. They actually fixed the issue with my vehicle for very little after being told for months from another dealership the fix would cost me thousands. My vehicle was done in a timely manner, exactly when they said it was going to be complete. The waiting area in the service department was clean and comfortable while I waited and everyone was really friendly. Shout out to Christian who shuttled me home and picked me up safely. He was also an absolute pleasure to meet. I would highly recommend this service department and will be using them again for my vehicle in the future.”
“I found out about aloha Auto from a local AutoZone. Gary, the owner of aloha Auto is a very skilled mechanic and an easy guy to talk to.
My first experience was just for an alternator. Recently, I was in need of a whole new steering apparatus for my Honda Odyssey, including rack and pinion pumps hoses tie rods engine mounts etc.
Gary tackled it all for me in one day. Expert work.
Now when I turn my Honda Odyssey it feels like butter instead of trying to turn a boulder.

“Today, I took my 1930 Model A Roadster—far from stock with all the modifications—need some help.
Lately, it’s been jumping all over the road. I ended up meeting Anthony (aka Tony) at Evans Tire in Encinitas. He took a good look, walked around the car a few times, and said, “It’s not in the books, but I think I can figure it out.”
And he did! The car now drives like it’s supposed to—no more wandering all over the road. Tony absolutely nailed it!

They have not only repaired my cars to an A+ standard many times through out the years, they have also taken the time (sometimes hours!) just to help me with anything from understanding my repairs to getting a new vehicle. They're also a fun bunch to chat with.

“10/10 recommend. Was referred by Scott’s in Leucadia & so pleased. My check engine light & other warning lights had come on so I got a diagnosis & they remedied the problem. The problem was a rat who chewed my spark plug wires. Not only did they perform the repair they also cleaned the rat debris ?? They gave recommendations to keep the rats out of the engine as well!!! “We take all our cars to Furgerson's for smog checks. Staff is super friendly and it is easy to make an appointment. Definitely call ahead so you don't have to wait. They don't try to oversell you on other service. Anything they have recommended has been confirmed by my regular mechanic.”
“Let's be honest, no one likes having to take their car into a mechanic. Speedy Tune and Break was recommended by the oil change place and although it was a further drive for me, I don't think I'd trust anyone else with my car.
From start to finish Joey was incredibly helpful and went the extra mile to ensure I wasn't paying for things I didn't need. My car was just out of its warranty, but he called around the local dealerships to find out if the specific malfunction was a known issue or better yet, a recall that would allow me to get it fixed for free at the dealership. Unfortunately, it was only a known issue.
Since I had to work on the weekend and would be without a car (it was too late in the afternoon on Friday and it had to be shipped to the mechanic), Joey offered a few recommendations on rental car places. Unfortunately, all the local ones didn't have availability for several hours. When they finally had one available, he drove me over to the rental car place! My car was finished in the time he said and under the quote. Not only that, but he remembered me when I walked in and had everything ready to go so quickly.
Also, I can tell you this is common service for them, because in the time I was there, I witnessed two other customers get great service - one he offered to loan his shop's car battery until she could get the new one (hers was under warranty) in the following day since she had work..AND offered to put it in when she brought it back free of charge.”

“Walked in for a oil filter removal tool and the older gentleman directed the younger fella to the area to get them. I had the filter on hand, wasnt sure if was a right fit but he said it was. My motorcycle runs and the task was accomplished successfully, getting the oil filter removed and replaced. This place helped.”

“They just installed a brand new car wash. It is so much better than the old equipment. It is touch free only!! The cheap wash did a great job of getting my SUV. Also you can wash a dully truck in there, so wide no tracks on the floor. Also you get a discount for gas when you wash you car!!!! Yay also everybody is so nice.”
