HORRIFYING experience - they have bed bugs!!! The staff was very kind but I woke up with bites and have now unwittingly brought bed bugs into my home. The rooms smell rank and of mold, I should have fled immediately. There was a red stain on one of the pillows that I now know is a sign of bed bugs. I just caught a bed bug coming from my suitcase and am absolutely mortified. Please do not stay here.

Nice and centrally located. Very good option in Emeryville
Rooms: Rooms were small but efficient use of space did not make me feel uncomfortable
Food and drinks: Breakfast is not included and it’s $33. You can have breakfast across the street

Pros:
Hotel is very clean , beautiful with great amenities such as hot tub and pool
View was magnificent . Location couldn’t be better for our needs .All personal but one guy with gottie beard and big head was very friendly and helpful .
Cons: That guy I described above. He looks like he is punished by working there . A man of few words . Didn’t ask me at check out how was my stay . Seems like he is permanently annoyed with people .
May be he should look for a job that suits him better but not working in hospitality business.

I never stayed here before, but wanted something convenient when I went to game day in Berkeley. Rooms were really clean. Staff was really friendly. Only thing I would say was that the bathtubs could probably use a deeper cleaning, but they weren’t disgusting. The fridges are nice in the room, but would be really convenient if they had small freezers as well.

the room cleaning service was so horrible. i stayed at this hotel full week and they never change the towels, trash cans and bed sheets. then i told them i need room service pls. and they said okay sir tomorrow will be clean. But they lied

I don’t know we’re to start, flew in on September 17 paid $500 for a night since all hotels were booked for the first convention Center. When I was booking it they said there is a jacuzzi so we were excited to soak in it and when we arrived the jacuzzi was broken and the hotel had a weird smell in it. Feels like a old motel. Won’t be returning…

The customer service at this hotel was great. The rooms were nice, and they are in a walkable area. I was there for a work conference and the staff that helped with our meals were amazing! Front desk staff were nice and accommodating, especially when a number of our attendees wanted to check in early.
The only reason why I'm giving them a low rating is because this place definitely has bed bugs. The first night I woke up with bites, I thought I may have been bitten my misquotes the night before. The second day, it was more bites all across my chest area. I went to see a doctor who confirmed that it, in fact, was bed bug bites. The staff did come inspect the room and weren't able to find any bed bugs. However, they're not trained exterminator. I had to move to a different hotel. Once I moved, I didn't have any additional bites for the rest of my stay.

The room smelled as if the carpet had not been cleaned in decades. Very mildew smell in the room. We pulled out the linen for the pull out bed and the sheet had two huge gapping holes in them. I don't know how that was missed!

I killed 3 cockroaches in my room. People leave meal trays outside their room and that attracts bugs of course. Disappointing.

I stayed at Sonesta only because the hotel I normally stay at when I come into the area on business was booked.
The hotel was easy access off the freeway, clean and the staff were all very friendly. The room itself was clean, comfortable with a nice view of the bay.
I think I have found a new favorite hotel for my trips.
