“I needed two priority mail envelopes, a 20 dollar money order and 20 postage stamps. My mind was not functioning so well. A wonderful lady named Dawn walked me through the process, and was sincerely kind, patient, and most helpful throughout. Thank you so much Dawn. May your wonderful kindness be returned to you 10 times over.”

“Ramon rocks and is the glue that holds this post office together. Not sure what we'll all do when he retires. But, I wish him the best of luck when he does and thank him for all of his helpful service over the years.”

“Of all the post offices I've been to in the Bay Area this is by far the best one. They are efficient, quick and organized when processing transactions. Unlike other post office locations that follow a pace of plate tectonics. This is the only post office I go to. Excellent service that other locations should try to duplicate, but they won't. Highly recommend this Post Office”

“Came here for the fingerprinting service after being told by USPS Noe Valley location that their machine was broken. The man who helped me was knowledgeable and got me in and out in 5 mins.”

“I have come to this location for over 2 decades. I have always received friendly service from postal workers at this and most USPS locations for that matter. Dealing with the public can be challenging and I’m sure a postal worker at some point has had a rough day. So have I.”

“The staff here are the most helpful, friendly, and patient post office employees that I have interacted with in the Berkeley/Oakland area. They took time on a busy Saturday to help me track down a package that had, unfortunately, gotten returned to the sender before I was scheduled to pick it up (that part is really frustrating, of course, but I appreciate the effort that they put into remedying the situation). I'll definitely be returning here to mail out packages in the future.”

“I don't usually comment on places but I experienced my first male Karen moment. It was thrilling. So thrilling that I fumbled with my phone and only caught the last part as he did his walk of shame out of the door as everyone was left in silence. This man clomped up to the counter and the woman working, Phoung, kindly greeted him and asked him what he needed. The man cut her off and said, I DONT NEED YOU TO ASK ME ANYTHING. I DON'T NEED STAMPS. I JUST NEED YOU TO DO WHAT I ASK YOU TO!! He spoke to her like they were in the middle of a heated argument. This woman, mind you, had her scale to weigh packages malfunction, her computer decided that it didn't want to work anymore and had to restart it working ALL BY HERSELF on a Friday around lunchtime. She really wanted to do a good job so she managed to work it out while the line grew. If anyone reading this were spoken to the way he did you would've had to use all your God given strength not to go nuclear, hop over that counter and made him eat those words. I was on the side ready to say something but Phoung had it covered. She responded in kind with the addition of respect saying, I just asked what you needed so there wouldn't be any misunderstandings!! Then SHE apologized for the miscommunication for reasons unknown. Be kind people or you might just run into someone who will give it right back to you. Thanks Phoung!”

“I have always gotten useful help from the staff here even during the hectic holiday season, there was a line that moved quickly and they handled even the most random questions. Useful to ensure we support this service.”

“This Post Office is located in the San Leandro Plaza and is open on Saturdays!!When I do have to mail a package, this is where I go!! The main reasons for that is that they usually have multiple windows open and they are open on Saturdays, the only day that I really have time for this. Now, sometimes on said Saturdays there's a long line here, but it moves along decently. The postal workers here are friendly and polite also!!”

“I’ve read the reviews but my personal experience was different. This location is pretty convenient and the lady that helped me out was really helpful, kind and efficient.
Their system was down for about 5-10 minutes but the way she helped me made me feel comfortable. There are times that it upsets me to wait for “x y” reason but she was so nice, I wasn’t annoyed for the wait time or that I had to pay with cash”

“Excellent customer service when I go in. Wish the PO boxes, money orders & international postal rates were less expensive. (Thus, the 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️s instead of 5.) Only post office in city where you can access your own PO box 24 hrs/day. Also, I love going to the Embarcdero & piers nearby. This is my go-to post office. ?”

“I love this post office. The sistah that works in the far corner is so incredibly helpful and proficient at her job. She is so on it, that I usually leave feeling better than I walked in because she makes the experience so pleasant and clear. If it weren't for parking I would use this post office exclusively. I will say that the USPS should update the equipment. Some of the machines seem like they haven't been updated since before Regan was president.”

“As of 7/1/2023 these are the Hours of Operation at 11135 San Pablo Avenue. Having evening access to the lobby on a Saturday was / is super helpful - including the sizable drop box that fits up to a Flat Rate Medium Box #2.”

“The staff is what makes this place really great. The person at the counter helped me pick the right type of shipping and the best size of box to minimize cost. They're incredibly helpful and professional, even if the line is long.

Note: USPS charges you for tape! If you don't want to pay, then either bring tape or tape your packages at home. Even if you have to buy tape, it's still often cheaper than UPS or FedEx.”

“This is the post office I use more than any other in the city because the people are so helpful and nice. Whatever criteria the USPS is using to choose who works at this store, keep it up! My favorite one in town by far.”

“Kindest post office in the US! I needed to send a package and wasn’t sure what’s the best way to do. The lady was kindly checked and gave me an advice, and the gentleman after I packed and pay was also kind. There’s only 2-3 people on line and service was very fast and efficient. Thank you!”

“I shouldn't be so cheap and unappreciative I got the coolest carnival celebration stamps with fireworks on them. I never have to wait long at this post office and it's right next to the Ashy BART station! The exterior is kind of unusual which is probably why it's getting 3 stars on average. It's a good post office. Don't listen to the other reviews.

Even the downtown Oakland Post Office has run out of money order forms, on occasion. They're not a bank cheapskate, they shouldn't be required to handle large sums. I've seen some people get money orders for thousands at some Post Offices. It's old school *not* dingy.”

“I’ve had great luck at this spot. Excellent customer service etc. I regularly drop off packages here without a hitch. Gary is especially concerned with doing things correctly, an asset to the postal service.”

“Went there around noon. No lines, quick and efficient service by “Top Dog”- thats what it said on his name badge. I was pleasantly surprised considering what I had heard about long lines and rude behavior at the Post office.”

“Today this post office has a worker who has great customer service skills. Watching him taking care of 4 customers and very professional and helpful. What a difference from the last time I was here!”

“Warning you will need to go through security on the south side (if you come from the north, they’ll make you walk around outside). It’s located in the basement. Another warning is that there is no signal (or Wi-Fi) bc it’s in the basement, so if you need a QR code, take a screenshot of it beforehand.Celipe (I may have gotten the name kind of wrong, but he’s an older gentleman), was very friendly and helpful. There was no wait either! I was in and out in minutes!”

“I have experience nothing but good service from this location. Charleston is very good at what he does, he’s helpful in every way. He help me open my first PO Box. it was done fast and efficient, it took him less than 5 minutes!”

“Went in to pick up a package around 1:30pm on a Saturday. There was a line but moved pretty fast. The workers were very sweet and friendly. My package was actually scheduled for redelivery, but was never redelivered. Turned out there were a couple other people who had the same issue and we all had the same zip code. The two workers behind the counter quickly divided their duties so one could help us find our mail/packages and the other one could help other customers. We waited for 5-10 minutes. I got my package, signed, and left. Overall it only took me 15 minutes.”

“Maybe this place was different before and maybe that explains the low rating...maybe but I found this place to be clean and efficient. The workers at this place are considerate to your mail and well organized and you don't even have to go inside a building.”
