DO NOT MOVE WITH MAP MOVING I repeat do not move with this company!!! If I could give them 0 stars I would. Absolute worst experience ever. Save yourself the money, fighting, and tears.1. The price ended up being almost double (extra ~$2000) than what we originally agreed upon due to miscellaneous charges they kept adding. For example, mover claimed they couldn't fit in an alley way (which my apartment says semis go in there all the time) so they unnecessarily added $400 2. They lost and damaged multiple of my items!! Barstools were chipped, dressers were scratched, makeup mirror dented, etc. They lost about 5-6 boxes worth of stuff, including the mirror that attached to a dresser I have that's part of a discontinued bedroom collection so I can't replace it. And that's not even the worst part ‼ they wanted to only give me $200 for everything they lost and damaged....the mirror they lost alone was worth triple that!!! Be aware that when they throw these contracts at you with no explanation, one of them says they only owe max 60 cents per pound of anything they lost of yours, so be sure to read every small print of that contract if you dare move with them3. Although they picked my stuff up weeks in advance, they kept pushing back the delivery date and claimed they could only give a 24hr notice of delivery, which was the only update they would give me, so I was just waiting blindly basically4. Movers were very unprofessional, disorganized, and rude. They didn't go over the inventory or anything with me, so I had no way of knowing if they were keeping track of everything. Hence, they almost gave me someone else's TV, and delivered some of my boxes to the wrong house after me which I had to drive an hour to pick up. My payment was pending on my bank but my bank assured me it went through, yet one of the movers was threatening and hostile and refused to continue to work and his coworker had to calm him down before we were worried he wouldn't finish and leave or even harm usDo NOT move with the company y'all!!! They clearly don't care about their customers and have been a headache to work with the whole time. We still haven't gotten any of our missing items back, as well as any compensation. Spread the word to avoid MAP Moving & Storage at all costs!!!

TL;DR - If you're shopping for moving companies, shop elsewhere. You can see the low rating; you can see the other reviews. These people are scammers and I hope you don't make the same mistake we did. This company does bad business and if your move is not *flawless* (which anyone who has ever moved will tell you is highly unlikely) you will be left to deal with the consequences. Do not let these friendly (at first) charlatans get one over on you. If it seems like a good deal, consider this your sign from whatever god you believe in that it sounds too good to be true because it is. In total, the movers damaged my desktop computer, broke several glass objects, and destroyed my flatscreen television. A few thousand dollars worth of damage on top of a misleading contract, poor customer service, and virtually no way for you to follow up. You'd be better off selling everything you own in a yard sale and walking to your new place. Why? Let's be clear up top. This is not a moving company. This company is a contracting agency. They write contracts, keep your info on file, and hire subcontractors to do the dirty work. The subcontractors answer to them but have discretion on the ground to do whatever they please. The coordination between these different companies is tenuous at best. You would *literally* be better off doing it yourself. They can make no guarantees about quality of service, professionalism on the ground, or care for your priceless objects. I was surprised at how fast they packed my apartment, until I found on the other end that things were broken, spilled, and cracked on the other side. I thought I read the contract rather carefully, I even noted that they have you sign a gag order as part of the primary contract to preemptively protect themselves if they choose to go after you. If you look online, you'll notice that several sites warn against agreeing to "by weight" or "square foot" assessments. This company flexibly uses both to squeeze a little extra out of you. This allows them to lowball you with the original quote and then to start increasing costs once they have possession of your things. After my place was packed up, they added ~$350 to the total because the packing took up more square footage than the original quote. Despite that quote being based on a fairly detailed breakdown of all items in my apartment. Something the person on the phone assured me would be good enough. They later refused to dropoff my things until I paid. On dropoff they added $400 to switch trucks for the delivery, as if they didn't know they were delivering to a residential neighborhood in the city after recieving my address. When I called to ask why the cost kept going up, I got a lot of attitude and run around from their customer service person April Graham who seemed to take sadistic pleasure in how frustrating the whole experience was. When I noticed the broken TV with the driver nearby, I was told to call the company. I called and left a message and then the next day I received an email directing me to CAF Moving Claims. Eventually, after being asked to get quotes, receipts, and the rest, the company claimed that they owed me nothing but 60 cents per pound, or about $50. Note here that within contract they switch between criteria they use to assess the value of the move. When I checked the contract, I noticed that under the option for insurance they offer "full coverage" at an upcharge and "liability" for free. Under the liability section they note a value (without noting how it was calculated) as the total "cost" of the move while in a few sentences, buried in the paragraph above, they also note that assessments of damage will be made at the rate I mentioned above. My mistake was believing that the "cost" reflected a baseline dollar value that you were insured for with liability and that anything above that would be charged at the .60 cents rate. Tough luck, I haven't heard any of the involved companies since declining the $50. The dri

The worst decision I ever made for selecting this company!!! Half of furniture is damaged or broke. The worst part, I've gotten little to no response about solutions. They also lost the parts box to reassemble my things. I literally have a house with a bunch furniture laying around pieces. Everything from my bed to kitchen table. Plus, from the original priced I paid, somehow I ended up paying an extra $2,000 dollars.

What a disaster. First, be very sure you are dealing directly with the moving company ie MAP, not a broker - for example, definitely avoid South East Moving Group. (See their review elsewhere). You will have no recourse for anything as it becomes nothing but a bunch of finger pointing with your stuff being held hostage. At first, things seemed OK at pickup. Then the storage fees came up. The broker contract states $179 up to one year; the very rude Anna at MAP insists $250 minimum for 3 months 'but we will do you a favor for 4 months.' I am across the country by now and preparing for extended international travel. Great. I scramble and arrange for local storage then delivery. The delivery date gets jerked around and when they do show up, it is the driver and his wife.... no other help. He is telling me he called people but no one is coming. Terrific. No choice but to carry on with two people and get this terrible company away from my belongings. And then even more evidence of how poorly this company operates: I see the bill of lading shows my things were stored at a CubeSpot (so moved again without my knowledge.) My high-end bicycle left my garage carefully wrapped and in one piece. But there it is un-wrapped, dis-assembled and laying askew on top of a bunch of boxes (and in need of repair). Furniture is no longer wrapped in blankets; several wood pieces have movers tape DIRECTLY on the finished wood; the clear plastic mover's wrap I used for security on several plastic crates is gone. The list goes on & on. (Photos are representative.) And I have to help move my things into the new storage center because it is taking hours longer than promised. When he has the audacity to charge me additional long carry and elevator fees, I pushed back but ultimately paid because I needed to leave and wanted them to go away. As it stands now, I have no idea how many more issues there are among my things. I am out of area and will not be back for months to truly unpack. This is my cautionary tale and definitely the condensed version: There was a whole lot more 'too bad for you... you pay more' back and forth. In the past I used PODS or U-Haul and paid for local movers to pack big stuff with my supervision. Minimal handling. Easy storage. Since this was a bigger move, contracting the whole thing seemed prudent. Ha! Ultimately, movers have you (and your stuff), they know it and you can do nothing about it. So be very careful who you pick. Absolutely do not use a broker and do not use MAP movers. You and your stuff will not respected. Consider PODS.

This company is unprofessional and unreliable. I was told at least 3 different days for my delivery. I was told I would get a 24 hour notice of arrival. I was told that it would cost more than the contracted amount to have my stuff delivered. In the end, I was given a 2 hour notice and did not have to pay extra. I would never use this company again & would advise against anyone else using them. My advise is to check all reviews and the BBB.

MAP Moving and storage is a cruel joke. They double your quote upon arrival, throw whatever into any box without protection, abuse the boxes and destroy everything you own. They charged me for each piece of artwork then stacked them in a box with each backside's hanging hardware scratching the front of the next frame. Most of the glass was broken and each frame damaged. Lamps were broken, shades were bent, wooden furniture scratched to hell. Once they get your cash you'll never hear from them again. I attached a few photos to give you an idea of what kind of service you will get. Oh, and to top it all off, I got someone else's box and my kitchen table and 4 chairs did not arrive.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY We called apex moving group ( basically the middle man) and they set us up with MAP Moving storage. From the very beginning we were given the wrong information. As an example we were told extra charge for a flight of stairs past 12 but it's actually 7 on our agreement. Lots of hidden charges they do not explain up front. A lot of our storage containers have boot marks on them and some were broken/lids completely broken and taped shut. Our 65 inch tv was damaged on the corners even though we bought a tv box from Home Depot with edge pads. There is now discoloration on the corners of the tv. My wife's 2 month old dresser has a hug crack in it as if it was just dropped. Lots of dishes were broken( we used bubble wrap and layered in towels) They did not give a s*** about our belongings but we were lucky than most, we actually received all our stuff. Now we had the insurance but its our fault for not really reading it carefully and sounds like we would only get a few hundred for the damages but it's not about the money, it's the principle of the matter. If you're looking for a company that will respect your things, do not use this one.

Estimates aren't supposed to go above 110% of the estimate even if it's not a quote unquote guaranteed estimate. But this company wants you to pay by cashier's check upon arrival and they load the truck and then they tell you you owe way more than that. This feels like extortion to me. I felt lucky that the things were delivered as promised after reading reviews online. I think it was a miracle. I would avoid this company. And if they extort you for more money because you hired them, contact agencies like the Attorney General the police and the attorney general in the states where they operate. This is a common scam. And we have to stop it.

Worst move ever. They raised the price the day of my move even though I had gotten rid of 50 boxes. They damaged some furniture and lost some items. Wouldn't deliver my belongings on the date I wanted..I had to beg them everyday for my things! Finally got them two weeks later.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! My contract was sold to this demon of a company. They will under quote you, load your stuff, then demand more money. They will also demand more money to get your items off of the truck at your destination. Do your research and chose a moving company that is door to door and does not sell contracts. I ended up spending as much as I would have hiring a reputable company. And their 'customer service' is a joke. She treated me like I was in debt collections.

I wish that I could give negative stars. This moving company was and still is a nightmare. Honestly, I'm exhausted from dealing with them and won't bother to type it all out here. Just BEWARE! Don't use American Plus moving. Don't use MAP Moving & Storage and don't trust that lying s.o.b Brandon.
