To the young man who was working the store by *himself* (LIKE A BOSS), yesterday afternoon: I admire your salesmanship and finesse. I walked in there CONVINCED that I needed a nearly white highlighter. That highlighter was not my shade, and I knew it. You, so kindly, so *gently*, redirected my attention to a highlighter that WAS my shade, and you told me, “I really like this one.”
I looked at it and was like “?” but then I swatched it and realized immediately that that highlighter was THE ONE.
You allowed me to feel like that was the highlighter I was looking for the whole time, like it was MY idea. But it wasn’t my idea. It was your idea. And MAC, god, and everyone in the Google comments should know: you demonstrated your expertise with makeup, your professionalism with customer service, and your prowess as a natural salesman within 8 minutes flat and I, frankly, am amazed. I hope they give you a raise. I hope they make you manager.

I had the best experience at the MAC Emeryville store Friday 12-01-2023. A Store Rep by the name of Chanel went above and beyond when assisting my Daughter with her makeup. She deserves a raise!!. If you're ever in the Emeryville area, please ask for Chanel.

Terrible customer service. The Asian guy that works here is very rude. Threw the box of make up at me and was very sassy. Over explained everything obviously hates customers. I will never return to this location.

Walked into the store and IMMEDIATELY their security started following me around the store like i was stealing trying to steal. I don't even know when MAC got security and this is my 1st ever seeing security in any MAC store. Since security made me feel uncomfortable and acted like i wanted to steal they WONT EVER be getting my black business or my black dollars! As a law enforcement officer i do not have time to steal from any establishment. I had on a small Fanny pack which held my keys and phone. There's no way i could have stolen anything.

Every time i make a trip to the East Bay to get my MAC on, Shanille W helps me. Shanille is very caring, very sweet and professional. Shanille always checks in me but is not over bearing. She also offers me makeup remover sheets rather thannthe hardh alcohol i use. She gives solid advice and i feel i can trust her. Honestly this location doesnt have much parking and its far from me but i like MAC stores so i have to come out here so its nice to be able well taken care of when i do make it out.

I was able to get an appointment on a Saturday which I thought was impossible. Yessenia did an awesome full face makeup for me and I was absolutely stunning!

Came here and the store is closed at 5pm. No signage on the door or anything indicating they were closing early. Website states they are open until 7pm

I would give them 0 stars but my sister in law and I went in to this mac and never in my life did I ever experience such profiling a** people. LEXI (ASIAN FAKE EYELASHES HEAVY SET) Stood in the middle of store watching us look at lipsticks and liner. LEXI was whispering to another co worker old black women about us. MAC I'm never disappointed in you for hiring racist workers. Not everyone that walks in steals and not all of them are black or Hispanic. Instead of helping us you and your co workers decide to help older white people instead of us. LEXI needs to get fired or have more training. Instead of shopping at mac we went to Ulta and received so much better customer services.

Stopped by to pick up the compact that was on hold. The customer service was pleasant, but after being at fourth it seemed bland. My daughter asked to see the powder on my face and the assistant handed me the sponge to do it myself. My daughter did it for me, we got what we came for and decided not to interrupt their time with more purchases. As a customer, I don’t like to waste the time of a person who’s working, when they’re busy. For me Fourth Street is the place.

Twice I have been accused of stealing from the 4th Street MAC store in Berkeley California, by the same staff- an Asian woman named Lexi. In both occasions she refused to help find a replace meant product ( I got the wrong color, can't try on makeup during the pandemic). I then asked to return it and didn't have my receipt, to which she implied that I stole the concealer. I bought it on line, and wasn't in the system. MAC needs to train their staff on problem solving instead of assuming that BLACK customers are stealing. This has happened to me twice with the same staff member. I will never buy another MAC product again. I called their line to file a complaint and the woman on the phone took no information down, nor did I get a response email.

Drove out here in traffic and paid for parking only to see store closed at 5:45pm on a Tuesday. No signs on the door. Hours posted show open till 9 pm.
