Took my disabled friends service animal to get her nails trimmed. She is 13 years old can hardly even walk and will not be around for to much longer. This vet refused to trim her nails unless he makes an apt with the vet for next week for an annual exam and a rabies shot. My disabled friend is on limited income and can not afforded hundreds of dollars in extra charges just to get the dogs nails cut. There is no need for an annual exam and rabies shorts for a dog that will need to be put down in the next few months anyhow. Instead of cutting the dogs nails and its last few months a little easier to walk, the greedy vet is just out for more money and could care less about the dogs well being. The lady at the front desk was also very rude A 1 star review is to good should be a 0. Funny how they were able to cut the dogs nails a few months ago with out these extra fees. Very GREEDY Vet.

Owners of high-energy dogs be warned that this may not be the vet for you. I used to bring my pup here in his younger days, but I was quickly told to give him trazodone before every visit so that Dr. Anderson could handle him better. I thought this was normal, but after taking my dog to groomers and daycares and even to a new vet, nobody has ever asked me to give him anything. I even got weird looks when I suggested pre-appointment trazodone to his new vet despite him being the same high-energy pup as before.
I’ve never been able to shake the odd feeling I got from Emeryville Vet Hospital and have had a much better experience since switching to a new vet. That being said, you may have better luck if you have a more docile pet.

We left without any options that didn't include removing all the cats teeth and an expensive ultrasound for chronic vomiting. No suggestion of a diet change or possible medicine. Made us feel bad for not having thousands to pay for the cat. Staff was nice.

My cat got into a bad fight and needed to be seen urgently. Emeryville Vet Hospital was able to accommodate us and the kindness and professionalism that they demonstrated while taking care of Mittens was wonderful ❤️. Thanks!!

Such a great place to bring your pet. I brought my two year old cat Lulu here for a physical after adopting her and they did a thorough checkup. The vet was kind and gentle with Lulu and was patient with my questions. This will be our vet as long as we live in the Bay, and they keep up the great service :) thank you

I want to give a very sincere thanks to the staff here. I've been going to the for the last few years, and just recently we had to put down one me and my partner's dogs due to age and complications.
We had his body cremated and put in a box and it came with a slot for a photo. It was absolutely beautiful.
But the thing that stood out to us the most was the card they sent to us. The staff signed this card and they included a print of his paw and his nose. We were so overwhelmed by the gesture, we just couldn't hold in our tears.
We really appreciate everything they've done the last few years. I can't go to any other place.

I don't recommend bringing pets here because they don't do a lot of diagnosis or specialty exams or surgeries, and they won't tell you that even if you inform them beforehand regarding the reason for your visit. They will charge you $70 just to check your pet's temperature and weight. I hadn't been here in a couple of years, but recently brought in my pet. They acted in a manner that made me lose trust in them, particularly Dr. Anderson. Not coming here again. There's nothing special about this place that stands out except that I no longer trust them to care for my pet.

I love this place- I have a very nervous guy who won't stop shaking at the vet: everyone is very patient not stressing my fur baby regardless of how hectic it is There are some hit and miss reviews on here - yes this is a small space- I have no problem giving a deposit thats applied to my appointment - no shows waste so many peoples time and take away a chance for another pet to be seen- the focus is getting your baby seen and they try to squeeze everyone in- they are not mind readers- they are professionals- the more you can tell them, the better they can help- The tech assistants are always nice -juggling the back and getting arrivals settled - vets listen to all my concerns and triple check. But they are trying to see everyone, yes a tech and not the vet will touch base with you sometimes to go over details: they are knowledgeable, but can't write the script for your dogs, itchy eye - so the vet should be off checking somebody else out instead of talking to me about what's also on the ointment printed directions Also: pet best (or another pet insurance) then you don't have worry My 2yr dog had his broken infected tooth removed: $1700 They made sure to double check codes on anything they needed to do would be covered

I’ve always been able to get in same day at Emeryville Vet and Dr. Anderson has always been a great provider for my pet. This week I had a scare with her lab work, and Emeryville Vet got me set up with everything I needed so I could ensure she was ok. The team is willing to talk through care plans and best advocate for your pet.
