Beautiful park in a nice neighborhood. My only concern is there are a couple of large holes where there are green boxes (utility?) Without covers. One has a couple of sticks over in a attempt to make sure it's seen and not stepped in. Safety hazard

The playground used to be a Utopia of kid-friendly fun. As of today, I have had it with the decline and neglect of Miwok park. In the past, we have noticed it never seems to get sprayed or cleaned, and is overrun with spiderwebs and squirrel colonies (who can be food aggressive if you have snacks out). We also have seen homeless adults making themselves comfortable on the picnic areas outside the play structure during day. Not ideal in a children’s park, but the play structures were still safe and fun to play on.Until today, because my toddler found a homeless woman passed out on the top isle of the playground structure. It was 10am in the morning. He thought she was dead. Other parents tried to shoo her away, and she refused. One of the parents had to call the police. Now I know why I never see large groups of kids playing at Miwok anymore. I am saddened to have to make this review. I hope the parks department or appropriate departments see this, and take action to update and save this once beautiful park. Please do not bring your children here until this park gets the attention it needs from appropriate departments. There are so many safer, newer, play areas to visit in Elk Grove!Playground: Full of spiderwebs, squirrel colonies, broken areas, and frequented by homeless peopleRestrooms: Dirty and unkeptPicnic area: Not kept, occasionally a key spot for homeless men

Miwok Park, or as our kids fondly call it, "Squirrel Park," is a charming place where these fluffy creatures seem to rule the roost. My history with this park goes back to my own childhood, and now I get to create new memories with my daughter. Our visits often revolve around peaceful picnics, allowing the kids to explore and play freely. They find joy in the various hideouts, the monkey bars, and even the wooden boat. There's something heartwarming about their laughter as they pretend to sail on it! ?The tire swing and the cute painted tiles are other treasures in this park that never fail to captivate the kids' attention. It's a place where cherished family moments are made, and the squirrels add that extra touch of magic.Playground: Wood playground with tunnel area that the kids can crawl through and play hide and seek in. They also have a smaller area for little kids that is super fun.Restrooms: Clean and Tidy, not too far of a walk from the main park.Picnic area: You can picnic basically anywhere here! Almost the whole area is shady by big, beautify trees, it's nice, even on the hottest days!

I love this park for my kids, I also used to come here as a kid but it's needs to be cleaned up. Littering and used condoms found. Makes me not want to bring my kids back here. A lot of parents don't go up the castle part so theres no way for them to know that's up there.

I took my daughter here a few weeks ago and there were so many squirrels! There were a ton of baby squirrels also! It was so cute! The playground had trash throughout it because people don't know how to pick up after themselves. And some of the equipment is broken. The park could def use an upgrade

They probably should the p ark "squirrel park". There are so many squirrels running around the park....it is crazy, but entertaining. The play structure is made with a type of wood product and it is safe for the kids to play on. This park has a tennis court and a lot of shade trees for comfort.

Really big area to play but park is old and a bit rundown. Yes Nature took over and you'll see squirrels homes or cobb webs. I'm worried about spider bites and the wooden structures and causing splints in children's hands.

I call this place squirrel park as there are many squirrels out here. They are not afraid to walk up close to you.Playground: Squirrels have dug underneath the playground for their home.
