Courteous. Patient. Helpful. Very understanding. These are just a few adjectives I attribute to Mos, an employee of Budget Car Rental Elk Grove. He was very considerate in helping me get a replacement of my original SUV that did not offer CarPlay features. Being a Hawaii resident and 77 years old I needed that feature to drive to my destinations.

This place is horrible. The customer service is horrible. The one lady who is in charge isn't professional at all. She rented me a keyed up SUV with cigarette burn holes throughout the SUV. The SUV maintenance light was on.The SUV drove slow. When I told her about the issues,she told me to call corporate. Corporate took care of the situation by giving me some money back. I tried to rent a second time, but they took my money and declined me a rental because she said my score was low. I asked what score? are you inquiring about. She couldn't give me a straight answer. She started double talking and handed me a piece of paper with a phone number to call corporate to get my refund. How you take my money but decline me a rental. Then tell me I have to wait 3 to 10 business days for my refund on a service I did not get. I went straight to ENTERPRISE,and they took care of me in a matter of minutes. ENTERPRISE was professional with a nice selection of cars and with no issues. Goodbye Budget!!!

What a nice guy who was working when we picked up our car rental. Our car was really great, we got a Kia Sorento and we loved driving it! We were supposed to turn the car in this morning but didn't realize they closed at 12. I'm not looking forward to how much we're going to get charged for a whole other day that we're not even driving it. It will be an expensive mistake, that's for sure.

March 3rd 2023From:AlanI took my car for repairs to the Hyundai servicing station in Elk Grove, and since I knew this would take some time, I booked a rental car from Budget Car rental in Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove, California. I drove the rental car home, and when my car had been repaired, I drove back in the rental car and returned it.The employee there said there was a hairline scratch on the car when I returned it. The "scratch" looks like nothing more than a tiny black dot -- it is practically invisible unless you look very closely at a particular spot. When she examined the car, she seemed to know exactly where to look to find this scratch. She then wanted to file an incident and accident report and asked me to sign it. I refused to sign it because the car was not in an accident. In fact, I did not even drive or park the car in any crowded areas. I barely used it, and it was returned in the exact condition I had received it. She told me that I would not have to pay anything because insurance would pay for it. I then realized that she was probably trying to pull an insurance scam. I strongly suspect that she has done this kind of insurance scam before. I had taken third-party insurance for the rental, but I refused to give her that information. A few people there, including an Uber driver who was going to drive me away from that place, were amazed at what she was calling a scratch. Knowing that she could lie later about the car's condition, I took pictures (and still have them). When I came home and showed the pictures to my daughter, she had to zoom in to the maximum possible extent to find the "scratch."This kind of scam drives up insurance premiums. I hope you will investigate whether this is a routine incident in this location. Thank you so much.Thanks,Alan

I needed a last minute rental and chose Budget. They had the type of vehicle I needed at a great price. The car was clean and in great condition. The customer service was friendly and helpful. I would use them again.

DO NOT rent here. Poor customer service, they try to charge an extra fee/deposit for everything (some fees not shared until they print out receipt and stamp with more terms). The cars are not serviced regularly so you will probably get a car with a service engine light on. They are making enough money off rentals to change the oil at least on a regular basis if that is the issue with the light being on. I will NEVER RENT a car from this location. I canceled my reservation once I got there and found the way they were treating customers and all the fees. I rented from another company with no issues or extra fees. Beware and shop around as they aren’t the only rental car place in town.

Was in an accident hit by a truck from Budget Sacramento these clowns have not bothered to answer any calls in over a month regarding repairs to my vehicle. Apparently this is normal behavior according to my insurance company but they are quite active iin calling f they are the ones hit. Do you think this company is responsible and deserves your business?

Quick and easy. Had a hiccup with the bill but was easily corrected or I would of gave 5 ⭐️ for overall interaction and rental. But other than that still the best place to go when you need a great rental at an affordable price...

This place asks for major credit card or Visa debit with at least a two to three hundred dollar deposit ro rent their vehicles. I wasn't impressed.

Only giving 3 stars because the car itself worked out well. Upon arriving there were people standing around everywhere and not being helped, but I will say, this place was understaffed. Only one person to help all these people and one guy doing all the car cleaning and maintenance. The inside looked dirty. I didn't even want to sit on the chairs because they were so stained and dirty. I had originally scheduled my pickup for 10:30am but I was running late, so I called to extend the pickup time to 11:45am which they agreed to. When I got there, the worker tells me "oh don't worry, I'll have a car for you". I'm standing there like ??? Yeah...I expect there to be a car since I reserved it and already paid for it. So I waited about another 20 min before being helped. The car had just got done even though my original pickup time was 10:30. I felt bad for the worker. They were super overwhelmed and didn't have any help. The same thing happened when I went to drop the car off, I waited 10 minutes in the lobby that was completely empty until the worker finally came up to help. They went outside to check the car and gas so I followed. When they were done they just started walking inside and I said "do I need anything else? Do I need to sign anything?" And they just said "nope" and walked away. The experience could've been worse, but overall I didn't enjoy it and will not be returning to this location. The car availability is hit or miss so be prepared for them to potentially not have your car you've reserved.

The customer service was extremely rude! I rented a vehicle and drove less than 2 miles. The maintenance required light turns on and I went back to exchange the vehicle. She, the lady at the counter, says no worries you can still drive it! I said I was going on a long road trip and needed reliability. She said she had another car but it also needed service! Just wondering if it's normal practice to rent out cars that need maintenance even if it's for an oil change! I even offered to come back in a couple of hours for a oil change to be done and she said that's not the way it works!!!!!!! Poor business operation!!!!!! I told her this is the worst office I experienced and she said I didn't have to come to this one!!! I told her she could count on that!!!! Awful experience! Rancho Cordova/ sunrise Rd. Much better service. Extremely helpful!!!!

I won't go here again, the customer service from the Lady was ok, not that friendly to talk to. She kept going on about no pets in the car, which I understand; we got to the car and saw i had pet hairs on my pants, my pets weren't going to go in the car, yet again she mention no pets in the car. It was raining that morning so the rain drops covered up some blemishes that couldn't be noted, when I got home there was a scruff mark on the bumper, sure enough she tried to get that on me and I told her that was there before and couldn't be seen due to the rain. As well as another review, she nitpicked at the fuel, I made sure I got fuel to go full, normal people would stop when you hear a click, unless your car has fuel issues, rental cars are pretty new so shouldn't have that issue yet she was adamant that it has to be fuel pass the click! So I went to fuel again pass the click yet i didn't want to do too much in case of overflow, and she still nitpicked and charge the fuel cost, which was 16 bucks. It's full to me, yet not to her. According to her, you're suppose to go past the click when it tells you it's done. Also according to her, the newer cars don't have tire caps as I told her mine didn't have any so I went out of my way to get them. Luckily I got a good deal through Cosco so will just have to eat up the d*** fuel charge.

First time renting, but will not be a returning customer. My fiance we weren't aware that we were going to get charged for toll fee services when we reserved the car and when we got the car, it wasn't in much of a bad shape besides the lingering smell of cigarettes from the previous renters and the dust on the outside of the car. When my fiance called to ask for another additional day, the female employee told him that it'll be $48 including $15 additional fee which we thought it was fine. Until the day we returned the car, she accused my fiance for returning the car late when we were four minutes early. She also accused my fiance that we didn't pump the gas fully when we pumped it a little over than what we received in the beginning. My fiance proved her wrong and in the end, we got charged $110 in total for the additional day in which we thought that was just going to be $63. If she was to do a better job on explaining that it'll be $110 for the additional day, then we wouldn't even take the offer. This car rental place ate a lot of our money than what we bargained for. We best not see any additional charges that we did not commit because it already felt like a rip off, so we'll take our business somewhere else.
