Made an appointment on Tuesday for Thursday afternoon. Printed a $20 off coupon for a smog check. My son took the car in at the appointed time and handed the paperwork and coupon over. Was told, "we don't have a license to do smog checks anymore." Or maybe wasn't willing to honor the coupon? State website says their license expires next July.

Good customer service, but my car was not fixed. They took my money and messed my car up.... if you love your car, this is a place you want to avoid... Save your money and time!!! My vehicle drove quietly and smoothly before taking it in; they gave it back to me in worse condition!!!

I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Auto Start of Elk Grove. From the moment I walked in, I was met with friendly and knowledgeable staff who were eager to help. They provided excellent customer service and went above and beyond to ensure that my car was serviced efficiently and effectively, including a smog test for my 2013 Mini Cooper. The technicians clearly knew their stuff and took the time to explain the work they were doing, including the details of the smog test. Not only was the service top-notch, but the prices were also reasonable. I left feeling confident in the work that was done and knowing that my car was in great hands. If you’re looking for a trustworthy and skilled auto service center that even handles smog tests seamlessly, I highly recommend giving Auto Start of Elk Grove a visit.

I called Auto Start on an early Friday morning. I called about getting pricing for an oil change. The worker who answer the phone was argumentative and do not wanna provide pricing. They told me I should take my car someone else's because they were too busy to providing pricing and schedule an appointment. If you need you car repairs, I would suggest taking it somewhere else.

Bennie's Auto Start has been our "go to" auto shop for years. With either our Nissan Note or our Dodge Ram 3500 Dually Laramie he always provides us with excellent service! We would go nowhere else! Very customer friendly. Thank you Bennie and your crew!

They changed my alternator, it was very fast and cheap, other places did not accept the part and wanted to charge me 1200.00 dlls, Here I only paid 300.00 dlls they did a good job, by the way they speak Spanish.

Purchased a car out of state and needed a smog check to register it. Benny and crew were awesome and had us on our way with the paperwork we needed for DMV. I highly recommend Auto Start and wouldn't hesitate to return.

The check engine light lit up and backup lights stopped working after the storm on my 1999 4Runner. I tried AutoStart since they were very close by.
