Five stars! Discouraged after frequenting another dance supply company, I called East Bay Dance Supply. The man who answered the phone (owner) was incredible! He talked to me for over 20 minutes helping me find the right tap shoe to buy. He has a passion for the business and cares about his customers. Highly recommend!!!

Very customer friendly and they have a good selection, even when you need an item immediately.

Miles is such a sweet guy and he knows how to fit dance shoes! We were happy to support our local dance supply shop; no need to shop online. He has a well-stocked store for anything you could need for dance classes and knowledgeable, friendly survive.

My daughter started taking jazz/tap classes, and I'm a clueless mom when it comes to that kind of stuff. Her dance studio referred us to this business to get the appropriate shoes for her lessons. I had called in advance to make sure the store was still open and had the same hours posted on its website (which could use some updating in terms of design and functionality). Fortunately, I got a hold of someone immediately to confirm and said we'd be in the next day. When we arrived, we were greeted by the owner (I believe) who recalled my phone call from the day before. He was super helpful and even more knowledgeable about what my daughter should purchase. He pulled several options for jazz sneakers and beginner tap shoes. He even encouraged us to get a size up so my daughter can use the shoes longer. I'm not sure how competitive the store's prices are to other places, but that didn't really matter to me. The service alone was worth any "markup" they need to make some profit on their end. I love supporting small businesses, especially ones that have been around a long time and provide great customer service. We'll definitely return for any future dance costume needs.

The best place for dance supplies in the entire East Bay.

This older couple know their stuff. Went in for ballet shoes and was quizzed but informed. Also corrected in a nice way more than once. "Sure we have ballet slippers." I didn't have my daughter with me and was planning to grab a pair of ballet slippers and leave but that is not the culture here. If you have a child in dance and want them to have the perfect fitting shoes this is the place to take him or her. If you are like me and just need something quick this is not the place to go. They have clothes as well and they will tell you exactly what to get for your child's body type. They are very nice, welcoming and passionate.

LOVED this place, the man named Miles who works there is so helpful and the prices are very reasonable. Very cute product, I was impressed as a young adult woman they carried my L/XL size in a wide selection. Got many cute pieces for class and he gave me a 10% discount as a Berkeley Dance Student.

I came in looking for tap shoes for my beginner's class and the owner was extremely helpful. He was very knowledgeable about the different types of shoes and which ones might work best. There was also a part of the store where I could try the shoes out. I highly recommend this store for dance wear at good prices.

What an incredible find! I was totally out of my element trying to find my child's first tights/leotard/ballet slippers today, and it was lovely to be taken through the process step-by-step by such caring, kind, and patient staff. Definitely worth the trip, and I appreciated their expertise in helping us navigate and find the right fit! So glad I did not try to buy online.

Horrible news. Costume corner is no more. Now there's no reasonable place in the East Bay to rent costumes. I won't be able to attend any more theme parties since the cost of purchasing is impossible. I'll never support this business and will not recommend it to friends. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED... SMH.

Amazing customer service! Came in to buy my daughter's ballet shoes and a leotard. They were all so nice, and really had a lot of expertise. They even gave us a discount we were eligible for through our dance studio which we wouldn't have known about had they not told us!

Hidden jewel in El Sobrante ! The owner of the store was so helpful with finding my daughters ballet shoes & tights. He sat my daughter in a chair and patiently sized her with various options until we found the perfect one. They carry quality brands such as Capezio and have so many cute Leotards!

This place is amazing. They are super patient and knowledgeable. Both people there helped us out and custom fit my daughter for her ballet shoes. We tried target and Payless for ballet shoes but they only carry sizes up to 2. At Costume Corner, they carry all sizes and colors. They also have canvas and leather ballet shoes. They are affordable too! You can pass it up very easily so keep an eye out for it. I can't tell you how easy they made the process!

Sweet little shop in El Sobrante. The hubby and I have come here in the past to rent costumes. When we had kids, we would check here for higher quality additions to their Halloween costumes, like beards, masks, and gloves. Now we have a little dancer on our hands and this place is our go-to for dancewear. Yeah, we could easily go to a big box store for that stuff, but for just a few dollars more, we have better quality pieces that last. For example, the ballet shoes at Target were so stiff and I didn't want to risk my hurting my child's feet just to save three dollars. They didn't even fit well. You also don't get knowledgeable service at the big box store. Miles at Costume Corner is super helpful, which is especially nice when you have newbie performers and are unsure of what to get. Many of the local dance companies also come here, so you know they're doing something right.

Fun, magical place. Miles was very pleasant, and knowledgeable about how to put together the steampunk look, and had all the accessories. Great fun putting it all together.
