I went to tone my hair. I had brassy red and wanted a toner to go back to my honey brown tone for a special event I am having. I walked out of the salon with pitch black hair. I looked like Mortisha. I called to book a fix up for the following day. When I arrived I sat for 30 min for the manager to tell me the lady who was to help is suddenly not available and to speak to someone else. The second lady told me she also had no time to fix my hair before my event. They sent me home with shampoo. I am frustrated to pay $300 to ruin my hair before a big day and they did nothing about it. Do not go to this salon!

This is no hate to the salon. If they try to book with you Irina.. RUN. AWAY. I went in as a new customer. My old salon too far. They booked me w Irina. Last hair dye was 6 months ago. I was a bit brassy w roots grown. I showed her the Pinterest inspo pic to bring my roots down, more cool toned and an ashy brown. She's doing my highlights and I noticed her bleaching to my roots and she said "o no the colors will melt to the brown" I said uhhh ok. Bleach and adding my base color. I saw my hair in the mirror and MAN I HAD HIGHLIGHTS TO MY ROOTS.. I just sat there quietly as she washed my hair. Move back to my seat. She finished drying and my hair was. So. Silver and Platinum blonde.. W strands of brown hair. She kept playing it off like no it's bc you're not used to ashy from brassy hair. NO. I said I wanted to bring my roots down and all the tones I wanted were brown. She went to curl my hair and blow drying w brush. She starts to curl and realizes oopsie it's not on. Turns it on and she's like "meh let's just burn your hair with even more heat w the blow dryer while that heats up". See the photos for yourselves. If she forgot the inspo pic, completely fine. But she didn't even bother to ask. She didn't even once say "okay it is way brighter.. let's fix it with xyz". It took me showing my rbf and saying it's too bright for her to take action. Not good client retention skill. But She did have kind courtesy of not charging me full price but we had to tone my hair twice after all the bleach and dye. Save yourself the tears and damage and book someone else.

Been going to Lauren for a few years. Saw Vivian for one appointment because Lauren called in sick. Receptionist mistakenly scheduled next appointment with Vivian instead of Lauren. Took off work early and drove from Beverly Hills in traffic. Vivian refused to honor appointment because I'm a client of Lauren. Lauren was booked for the day. Neither spoke to me. Receptionists didn't seem to care that I had an event for 4 days later & needed my hair done. Terrible customer service! Will not be returning to this salon

Vicara is Beautiful Salon in Mahattan Beach! Make an appointment with Krista! She is highly skilled with cutting and coloring hair. I moved from NYC and I’m pleased to finally find a creative, and talented stylist that listens and discusses your hair options with care. Krista is a rare find!

I can't tell you how amazing this salon is, but I'll do my best! After many years of trying to find the perfect stylist, I finally found one! I've been going to Lauren for almost 8 years now - and I recommend her to anybody who is looking for a wonderful person who is also great at her job. She does a wonderful job at both cuts and colors - and her highlighting is impeccable. The staff at the salon are also incredibly kind - and I'm always appreciative of their help. The salon is clean and everybody is always so sweet. It's a joy to get my hair done!

It's very hard to find stylists in LA who know how to cut curly hair properly - so I was so happy to come across Janelle Cardenas at Aveda Vicara. She specializes in curly hair and did an AMAZING job! She cut my hair dry (and best way to cut curly hair) and took her time to explain various techniques to keep my hair looking great. And the price point for the curly hair cut was the best I came across in LA! If you're looking for a great curly haircut I highly recommend Janelle Cardenas!

Made an appointment for coloring. Showed up at 9am after leaving a deposit to get my hair done and the person said she couldn't do my hair because she was out of time and the color would have to be done in more than a one process color. Rebooked for 3:30 the same day, today, and then got a call at 2pm saying that the person slated to do my hair could only give me a consult because she too my appointment time and gave it to someone else. It is 12/30 and I was wanting g to get my hair done for New Year's Eve but now it is impossible because it is Saturday at 2:-15, no one works on Sunday and Monday is New Year's Day. I asked to speak with the manager, but that person is conveniently not available, along with the person who was suppose to do my hair and now only has 10 minutes open at 3:30 for a consult since she took my appointment time and gave it to another client. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Excellent hair salon! They really gave me an amazing hair cut (didn't cut too much, just like I asked) and my hair was beautifully blow dried after and smelled amazing for 2 days!!

I called Wednesday October 4th at 5:20pm and the lady who answered the phone was beyond rude. I called wanting to book a Brazilian Blowout recommended by Amy (who was great btw last time I saw her) because I have some frizz. Her tone was so unfriendly and she seemed annoyed that I even called but I ignored it and continued to book. I proceeded to ask her questions (this being my first blow out) and again rude, monotone and basically said nothing she was so bothered I even called.When she made the reservation for me she said you're all set then just hung up as I was still asking her something. I called her back told her to cancel the reservation because of her attitude and her bothered tone turned so defensive and aggressive.She said the problem was with me and hung up. I've been going to Vicara for quite sometime. Time to find a new location.

I go here anytime I need a me time, the scalp massages are the best part, service can be a little pricey but they do to your hair what you ask for. I've went to get a trim twice and that's what I got, is not like other salons were you ask for a trim and end up with a 4 inch cut. 4 stars because last time they moved my appointment from 10:15 to 10:45 and I was notified 10 minutes before when I was already getting there

I'm so disappointed to give this review! I went into the salon this weekend for a trim and asked the stylist to give me an undercut. She seemed uncertain so I asked a couple times whether that's something she's familiar with and know how to do. We even looked at pictures together so we were on the same page...and this is what I got. I couldn't see how uneven and utterly not an undercut it was until I got home and showed off to my roommate that I got to see what it really looked like back there. It's a shame too because the cut itself is cute! But like, this is so so bad. I had to shave it down at home to get things even.
