they never answered the phone, never update you on your pet. I used to go to this banfield all the time. This was my original banfield, but I’ve switched locations because of how poorly they treat the pet owners and how they never answer their phones. How do you think it makes me feel knowing my dogs are there all day and they never once give me a call and I called them 10 times and they don’t answer, I just want to update or check in on how my dogs doing . i don’t recommend this location

I've been sitting on my review for a month, but my feelings have not changed.Spoiler alert, this ends with my dog passing away. We brought our dog in for an exam, as she was showing a loss of appetite, and lethargy and suddenly didn't want to go on walks. Banfield did bloodwork and said she was fine, her calcium levels were off, but she didn't show signs of anything terrible. Keep in mind, that when the vet called us asking for more info, she kept interrupting us saying "I see, I see". Not listening at all. Should have been my first sign. 2 days went by and her symptoms got worse, ate even less, moved even less, and vomited bile. We took her back to Banfield and another vet didn't find her bloodwork or signs alarming and sent us home with any vomiting meds. I had asked for an ultrasound because something was definitely wrong with her stomach, but the vet said it wasn't necessary, expensive and it would take a month to get it scheduled. I said that cost didn't matter, but he felt it was needed. We had already spent thousands on pointless exams with them and meds. 2 days later our dog got even worse. No drinking, no eating and still vomiting. We immediately took her to the VCA in Hawthorne. When they received the bloodwork from Banfield they were shocked that her symptoms were so easily dismissed. She had all the markers of a very ill dog that needed immediate attention. They did an ultrasound right away (not a month later) and found she was riddled with growths around her liver and stomach. She was so sick by this time that there wasn't much they could do, except keep her comfortable. She passed the next day.I understand that she was very ill and didn't show signs until the last 2 weeks of her life. HOWEVER, the main 2 vets at Banfield are incompetent and dismissive.

Do not take your baby here!! I've been taking my dogs here for a few years now. My chocolate lab ended up being really sick (most likely cancer) and the vets at Banfield did not catch it before it was too late. I took Bear to Banfield TWICE expressing concerns about coughing and gagging and they ruled it out as allergies and old age. After the second time I took Bear to Banfield, they said there was nothing wrong with his bloodwork for x-rays. The day after he was not eating, was very thin, could not stand straight, and breathing heavily. I took him to the ER (a separate hospital to Banfield) and within an hour they told me it was likely late stage lymphoma. He was in horrible shape and I could not bare to look at him suffer any longer so I had to put him down that night. Banfield failed to give the proper exams to Bear and because of this I will not be going back. They are still making me pay $300+ to close out the wellness plan I had for Bear even though their services are shit. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE.

Worst location ever. They never pick up the phone, if they do they put you on hold for 30 minutes. Been going here for a little over a year and it's always been horrible. They need to get more or better associates.

I would give this place no stars if I could. They took my dogs at 10:30am for vaccinations only. At 4:00pm I came to pick up dogs and they were not ready. 4:30pm was my absolute latest to leave. I ended up taking the dogs and having to pay for an “office visit” even though they weren’t seen by the vet. I was told if I make another appointment I would get charge another “office” visit fee. NEVER AGAIN!

I have had the Banfield membership for my dog for a couple of years, but we had never had any major problems with the plan before. A couple of months ago I brought him in with some weird symptoms - bloated, diarrhea, vomiting, and limping on his right paw. That was his second time in in a month with the same symptoms - the first time they treated him for worms, which later we found out was not the case. When we brought him in for his second drop off appointment, we explained to the person at the reception desk what was going on with him, and showed her a video of him earlier that day where he could barely walk. She assured us she would pass along the information to the doctor who would be seeing him later that day. A few hours later the doctor called us to get more information on what was happening. We explained everything; that he hadn't been eating well, that that was his second time in and that he had started limping very suddenly. The doctor said he had not noticed his limping; which is obvious because they leave the dog in a crate all day, and probably never put him on the floor, so he never got a chance to actually see my dog trying to walk. We were surprised by this comment, because the receptionist had assured us she would pass along the message that my dog was limping and we had shown her a video of it.He went on to run an Xray, and a blood test. The doctor then calls us and tells us that my dog has liver failure, and that we should rush him to the emergency room. When we pick Cubby up to take him to the ER, they gave us a visit report where they suggested our dog to be EUTHANIZED. With no further explanation, we were given paperwork that says our dog is dying. BASED ONLY ON A BLOOD TEST.We rushed Cubby to the emergency room where they were able to run further tests, and found that Cubby is not dying, and does NOT HAVE LIVER FAILURE. Instead, he might have developed an autoimmune disease that is 100% treatable. It's been a couple of months, but Cubby is fine and healthy again. It took me a couple of months to call Banfield to cancel my plan due to the stress of dealing with the process of learning what Cubby has. When I called, they told me that I would still have to pay for 4 more months before my membership was canceled. I explained the situation, and that I no longer trusted their service, and the lady on the phone said she could void one payment because of the INCONVENIENCE. Now I am to pay almost an extra $300 for a service that I no longer trust or recommend. Here is my point; an inconvenience would be me waiting an extra hour to see my dog. An inconvenience would be an establishment not taking the type of credit card I have. Telling me my 7 year old dog is DYING and should be PUT DOWN when this is NOT the case, is not an inconvenience. It is malpractice. I write this review worried sick for the amount of people that might not have access to further information, and might just trust what the doctor says without questioning and making the most hurtful (and maybe unnecessary) decision. I am canceling my plan, paying the $300 they require in order for me to do so, and never signing up any of my dogs to this "wellness" plan again.

I'm specifically writing this review for Sherry (Client Coordinator). Banfield Pet Hospital is very lucky to have such empathetic, friendly, kind, and super sweet employee like Sherry. Our dog Daisy has unfortunately been diagnosed with a heart murmur and today the poor girl was having a coughing attack. I called Banfield in a panic and Sherry heard the fear and stress in my voice and squeezed us in to an already tight schedule. Sherry could have easily turned us away, but instead, Sherry took the time to listen to me and gave us a same day appointment. Thank goodness Daisy is ok and started her on medication. We're super happy with the service we get at Banfield. I want Sherry and Banfield to know how much I appreciate them. Thank you to the doctor who treated Daisy and for answering all of our questions.Thank you for your kindness, Sherry!!

I must have called over a half dozen times. They need to hire someone to answer the phone. They should also include a message if they can’t answer on where to go for emergencies because they can’t take last minute appointments.

Sherry (Client Coordinator)Sherry was very patient and tried very hard to coordinate information from another animal hospital. She patiently awaited for communication with other animal hospital and rescue centers and made very strong attempts to identify microchip information for my new dog. Give her a raise!

The staff are really nice and try there best to help everyone in a timely manner. After switching to this location due to the one by the Beverly center closing, I was unsure at first but then came to ease at how well they are with pets and the owners. The only bad thing is sometimes you won't get anyone on the phone for a while if they are slightly busy.

I can't describe how upset and disappointed we are with today's services at your location. I brought Snoopy back to remove the sutures to find tonight that the front teeth extraction area still has the purple material in it.How is it that the staff does such a poor job? Shouldn't the medical records be checked prior to this simple procedure? Why is it that I have to be inconvenienced once again to bring him back and have him go through another stressful time to get this corrected? What about my time and auto fuel that I have to waste for this? Please advise as to how your office will handle this? Perhaps, as I have requested Emma this morning, if I could have been in the room with Snoopy for that short period of time instead of brushing me aside once again, so you he can be hurried out through the back office.... What would it take to be able to expect normal customer service, instead of this substandard, sloppy, assembly line type of business?I will need to escalate this to your corporate office and request compensation...
