As soon as I walk into the store I feel welcome, and when someone is already helping me out they've always been quite efficient and able to provide good service

I paid $154.91 shipping fee to the store and $9.68 for packaging fee to send a small package on Friday from El Cerrito to Allston MA. The store assured me it is guaranteed for Saturday delivery. Otherwise, I would have gone to post office. When the package was not delivered on Saturday. The store manager told me there is no Saturday delivery on Allston. Too Bad!! You should have read the whole contract when you shipped it.

On the Thursday before Christmas, I visited the UPS store to ship a very last minute package. During this visit, I had the pleasure of working with Carlos who was very patient and kind as he explained all my options to me/made sure to let me know about any fees that would be associated with the shipping. As I sent off the package, I was told it wouldn't get there til at least a day after Christmas due to delays and because, understandably, I was shipping it very close to Christmas. To my surprise, two days later (on Saturday), the package arrived early! Overall, even if my package had arrived late (as expected), this still would have been a great experience with 10/10 customer service. I'll be sure to be back next time I'm shipping packages :)

Terrible customer service. Should have 2 or 3 staff members processing returns. Most of the time the store will only have 1 customer service agent processing returns. This results in lines 15 people long. UPS needs to review their policies.

The place is supposed to open at 8:30am but the personnel who are supposed to open don’t show up on time. They are typically 15+ minutes late. I recommend for the business to properly reflect the opening hours in social media and similar platforms. The person waiting in front of me says 5 people who were in line already left. She lives walking distance from here and she says it is normal for this place not to be open on time.

Last Friday (6/23/23) I sent some very time-sensitive materials to the US State Dept using the UPS Store at El Cerrito Plaza. I paid for it to be delivered Tuesday morning, 6/27/23, and I pre-paid for return overnight delivery. Total cost was $108.It's now two days since the envelope was supposed to have been delivered. Having received no acknowledgement from the State Dept, I tracked the package at the UPS website. According to UPS Tracking, the package never left the UPS Store at El Cerrito Plaza. My conclusion is that they lost my envelope in the store.Today (Thursday) I go to the store and when I tell the manager my story, before she does any investigation, she snaps back at me "Of course it left the store." There was absolutely no way that she could have known that the envelope left the store, unless she herself loaded that envelope on the truck last Friday and remembered that one envelope specifically. Rather she was just reflexively, and unpleasantly, defensive. I asked for a refund of both the outgoing and return services because now, due to their incompetence, I have to go somewhere else and resubmit my forms to the State Dept. I am still inside a narrow window for getting my documents approved and returned, and that window is not going to widen just because UPS Store at El Cerrito lost my documents. Instead of issuing me a refund, the manager told me that I had to wait to see if UPS ever found the envelope. That is not an option for me. I don't have the luxury of waiting for the UPS to say that they can't find an envelope that the UPS Store failed to ever put on a truck. When I pushed back, the manager resorted to claiming that the UPS Store was not part of UPS - that they were independent contractors which is complete nonsense. UPS Stores are wholly owned by UPS. She then decided to highlight the very fine print in their document and asserted this to be absolution of her store's responsibility (essentially saying "It's UPS's problem, not the UPS Store's.")Here's my summary: UPS Store lost my documents and the UPS Corporation failed to deliver as promised. I can't wait for them to complete a search so I have to pay for these services all over again. The manager refused to refund my money. She was not remotely apologetic for losing my documents, nor was she in any way accommodating, however she was able to muster the energy to be defensive and dismissive. She misrepresented the situation, telling me that the UPS Store was not part of UPS. And I am fairly confident she continued to lie when she said that she has no manager and she reports to no one at UPS. Positive note: the other staff were friendly. Go there at your own risk.
