I am an Oaks Jeweler loyalist and have been bringing in my jewelry to them for repair for the past 25 years. I couldn't use them this week as they were on vacation and I quickly searched for a nearby jeweler and found Roberto. I walked into his shop and he was chatting with a friend who has been having him make her jewelry for years. Her ring she was wearing was amazing. I soon discovered that Roberto makes almost all of the jewelry in the store. It was an impressive collection including designs made with imported Murano glass beads with gold detailing. My mission was simply to get a watch pin secured and some quick metal repair on a bracelet and necklace. After a delightful conversation and the repairs accomplished, Roberto did not charge me for the repairs! He said it was so simple and to come back again. He also acknowledged that Oaks Jeweler was a fine establishment and he understood why I used them for that many years. He explained how they were different and that they were friendly competitors that send each other their clients often. I can't express to you how delighted I am to find Roberto and I look forward to continuing to use him for future jewelry purchases! Our community should be honored to have him in this neighborhood after all these years. I can't believe it took me so long to discover his shop, his talents, and kindness!

I stumbled upon this jeweler as I was waiting for my daughter to finish up at Grove Salon. What a lovely selection of jewelry... and the owner makes much of it himself! After talking a while with Roberto, I knew I could trust him to fix my wedding band and engagement rings that needed to be made larger. Patiently, Rob measured my fingers and took time to explain options. The results are spectacular and perfect! My daughter and I are dreaming up designs for some outdated family rings. We know Rob will be the one to craft something beautiful and original. He listens well, offers interesting options, and completes his work very quickly. Highly recommend!

I brought my watch in to get a new battery and along with my watch working again, I also had a lovely conversation with the owner. What a gem, literally and figuratively! I will be telling everyone to go to Roberto for all jewelry needs! You should definitely stop by and take a look at all his beautiful pieces!

Really disappointing... Went on a search looking for someone to resize a ring I bought in a smaller size for a discount. When I told the person the sizes and what size I needed it to be he made a comment saying, "Wow that's big", which 1. it really isn't, 2. he is unprofessional and then just hung up when I mentioned how I don't know if I even want to come now that he made the comment. Take your business elsewhere, like I will be!Add: Owner did call me back to say he didn't mean it like that, however, I wish he had kept his comment to himself.

Met Richard and Rob today. For some reason yelp says appt only so I called in and Rob said they are definitely open and it is not by appt only. They were both very helpful and help me find two new watch bands and help me switch out my old ones. I can easily see why for over 30 years Rob is a trusted business for residents in Albany and surrounding cities.

This is the best jeweler ever. I have been enjoying the service of this place since they were in the plaza. The owner has always taken care of me. The service is uneuovical to any. I must say that this is the only place I would ever take anything to be fixed or the only place I would trust purchasing anything from. I feel like he really cares to take care of us customers as family. I would highly recommend this place.

I had accidentally broken a necklace chain that my grandmother had passed down to me. I brought it in to Gioiellieri Jeweler's on a Saturday and it was fixed and ready to pick up in less than a week. I'm very happy that I am now able to wear and treasure the necklace again. Highly recommend this place for folks who need stuff fixed!

Plaza Jewelers closed during the pandemic. A few weeks ago I met Nancy for lunch at Bowl'd. Walking down from my parking space on Carmel I passed this shop and its name made me wonder whether it was owned by the same person. A little research confirmed it was and this afternoon I stopped in to say hello. My review from 2015 was unaccountably combined, along w/ all the other Plaza reviews, w/ a thread of reviews for another Plaza Jewelers in New York. I don't know why, how or when that happened, but since the Plaza store is closed, there's no point in spending the energy to correct it. When I walked in Rob was in the back working, but called out a welcome. I asked him about the closure and reopening and he told me. He has been open in this location since June. Normally he has a couple of helpers but neither was available today so he's on his own. I reminded him about the beautiful Venetian glass necklace I had bought in 2015 and his kindness in changing the clasp for me at no charge. I didn't buy anything today, but it was nice to see Rob and to reconnect. I wish him success in this new location. He's a very nice man. In case you're interested in the old review for context, here it is: "Plaza Jewelers is next door to my cleaners and two doors down from Trader Joe's, so I'm in the neighborhood a lot. A couple of months ago I was on my way to one of those places. It was a sunny day and the sun lit up the window full of Venetian glass necklaces, making them sparkle. Like a magpie, I had to see them up close, so I went into the store for the first time. I asked about one particular necklace in the window and was given the price. Inside they have more Venetian necklaces and earrings in cases hanging on the side wall. The front display counter had some lovely cloisonné pieces, including a delicate pair of gold earrings w/ a graceful heart design. I have more than enough jewelry, including some cloisonné pieces, so while I admired them, I wasn't tempted by them. The Venetian glass necklace was entirely another story. As we all know, jewelry is about want, not need. I went away for a few days and thought about it, then returned and bought it. I found the clasp a little difficult to manage, so I asked about a magnetic clasp, which I have had put on bracelets and necklaces when the clasps became difficult for me to manage. The jeweler replaced the clasp w/ a magnetic one at no charge, which I really appreciated. It's a family run operation and so nice to deal w/. They do take credit cards, though not AmEx."

So glad to hear Rob from El Cerrito Plaza Jewelers is back. When I went to the Plaza and saw his store had closed I was saddened. I have been going to him for many, many years for all my jewelry needs from repairs, to advice, to watch batteries. Very happy that he is back. You want a good jeweler just like you want a good doctor. Rob is the best. Great service, great price, and great person.

Love the store! We got the engagement ring from Gioiellieri Jeweler. Rob (the owner) is super nice and patient. He took tons of time to show us everything we were interested in and we ended up getting a customized diamond ring. Very beautiful design and reasonable price. We will be back over and over again!
