Petco is the type of pet store a person goes to when there's no other choice. Anything is better than shopping here, other retail pet stores and even online is much better. And what separates others from this Petco is the horrible customer service here. Where did they learn their people skills? I've gotten better customer service at DMV than at this Petco. Unless you are working on your godly qualities, like patience, endurance, long suffering, and self control... Don't shop here.

I always have to wait a long time to get my fish. There's never anyone there to help. I always waste time waiting and looking for assistance. I wish there was another store closer to me. But El Cerrito is all I have.

5 stars for Vanessa as a groomer! Specifically for having the patience and strength to handle trimming the nails of my energetic pit/lab mix. One of the rookie groomers turned him down, but Vanessa stepped up and became my go-to for nail trim appointments

The Dr. Vet asked questions about my pet's sleeping & eating habits! Asked about walks, etc... reminded me about water in the hot months! This was an awesome visit!!!

Vetco at the Petco El Cerrito location is AWFUL. They office staff sold me a "package" and the vet and the vet assistant didn't speak to me or my dog. We were both SCARED. And my dog, who loves people, yelped when being held before they even did anything, because it hurt the way the person was holding her.

Do not go here for a dogs groom. They cut my dogs ear and did a terrible uneven job. They gave me the groom for free but doesn't make up for making my dogs ear bleed.

I recently brought my newly adopted dog for grooming in El Cerrito. They did a great job with his bathing, nail trimming, and eye cleaning. Will definitely return in the future.

We got our dog's three year rabies vaccine done at VetCo. It was so much faster and easier than our old vet. $35 and done in five minutes. They gave Cassie lots of chicken and I'm not even sure she noticed she had received the jab. Very impressed with the efficiency.

The folks that work here are super nice. Rick is especially personable, always greeting me and a really hard worker. He is always busy and very efficient and knowledgeable.

extremely horrible. they delayed delivery my cat food for 20 days and had no courtesy to find a solution. horrible do not trust them for deliveries. my cat has no dry food now because i waited for them.

Took my Kerry blue here for the first time and was appalled by every aspect. Upon arriving for my appointment, I could not check in as the groomer simply did not show up for the appointment. The manager was nasty and finally agreed to check him in. No communication all day so I finally just showed up and still not ready. The result - a disaster. All they did is shave him and left nasty burn marks. Do yourself a favor - avoid this place at all costs. I challenge the manager to reach back out to me to make it right, but am pretty sure they will just hide from this.

I came to buy something for my fish and dog but the worker was being rude when she already asked me once to pick my dog up for not bringing her in without a leash because it is Policy. I understand so I was holding her the whole time. I was checking out a harness for my dog which I have to try it on her to see if it fit but then she came to tell me again to lift my dog up. I find that very dumb and just left. The place is for animals and if i can't be put down my animal a few minutes to just try on something for her that I am willing to pay for is not worth to spend my money there.

I wasn't too happy with the grooming services at another place about a mile away, so I decided to try out the grooming services for my medium sized dog at this Petco and our groomer, Ruby, was amazing! I noticed that all the groomers that were working behind the glass were so calm and happy working with their furry clients. Even though I noticed some of the dogs being nervous, the groomers were all smiling and were so sweet to the dogs. This made me feel at ease leaving my dog in their hands. I came back nearly 2 hours later and my dog smelled great, her nails were cut short (the other place didn't do a good job in this area and my dog always didn't seem to have been thoroughly cleansed deeply), and her fur felt silky soft! I really loved that my dog was also blow-dried and that was included in the price whereas the other place charged to blow dry. Can't wait to come back to Petco again and have Ruby work on my fur baby. FYI, you can pay and tip at the register.

Have zero issues finding products. Grooming with Anna has been great. I schedule grooming appointments online. A bath and hair cut is $60. My dog is a regular. Could not ask for better quality
