A big shout-out to Mario in the bakery!!!! I was having a hard time finding Irish Soda Bread in El Centro. I had a St. Patty's party coming up and I wanted to bring this bread. After not finding any at Vons, I went to the bakery dept. to see if they had any in the back. They didn't, but I spoke with Mario, who offered to bake some for me. I was relieved and happy to be able to bring this annual bread to my friends. This was on Friday. He would have done it that afternoon, but I really didn't need the bread until Monday. I called Monday morning, hoping he hadn't forgotten. Yes! I had Irish Soda Bread waiting for me! Mario saved the day for me. And it was as fresh as if I made it myself. Did I tell my friends I didn't bake it? Only the people that were there know for sure.”
