“I worked there about 11 years ago and I was very happy to see it still thriving! My fiance and I stopped in to pick up succulents to use for centerpieces at our wedding that was happening that week. Great selection! We were able to get more than what we needed for our wedding! Will definitely stop by again next time I'm in San Diego.”

“Very cute place and friendly staff! On-site parking. There's a little cafe with inexpensive prices. I tried the mango black tea but it wasn't enjoyable; I didn't taste any mango and had to add a lot of sugar. The gift shop is adorable with a variety of items, but prices are high. There's a lot of seating for people to come hangout or have a picnic. There's a small swing set, a children's sandbox area, a large grassy area, and a chicken coop with live chickens. Very nice place to have a photography session but there's a $35 fee, which is a bit steep considering there are only a few picture worthy spots imo. Great place to check out if you're in the area!”

“I like this store in general. It's close to my house and there's always a lot of employees to help. It feels like they are very seasonal based so you're getting plants that will grow for the time of year. A lot of items are natural/organic. However the prices all seem super inflated compared to other stores. I want to support a neighborhood store but it's hard to justify with the high markup.”

“For many years I purchased most of the plants, soil amendments, and organics that my clients needed from Kniffing's Nurseries and I kept coming back, not just because they had a huge selection, or great prices, it was also because they always treated me like family. It might sound like they've paid me to write this and indirectly, I guess they did by being kind, patient and understanding of my needs and always helpful. They always made me feel welcome no matter how big or small my order was. I just wanted to write this because it's true and I had a minute to do it.”

“It was an incredible pleasure working with Scot from Moon Valley Nursery to help beautify the landscaping at our home. Not only is he very personable and friendly, but he is extremely knowledgeable about plants and you can tell how truly passionate he is about helping to make your yard beautiful. Moon Valley's complementary home consultation and design session was an incredible value because most nurseries charge for something like that. Scot created detailed renderings for us showing his ideas for our yard that ended up turning out great once we had everything planted with the Moon Valley team. He personally came on the planting day to ensure that all the plants were placed correctly. We cannot recommend Moon Valley and Scot enough!”

“How in the world did we not know about this place?!?!? Over three decades of living in Alpine and this was our first experience.Such a nice family! Beautiful plants at incredible prices.My milkweed has been decimated by the countless Monarch larvae that we’ve gotten this year. I bought 5- 1 gallon plants at $5 a piece!!I’m thrilled to support another local business that has amazing products.Oh! They also have huge bags of earthworm castings!”
