Was my first time there which was recommended by some friends and wanted to check it out love Italian food. I ordered a pepperoni mushroom and sausage pizza it looked really good and it smelled delicious however when I serve myself three pieces the pizza was very salty. I cannot finish the rest of the pizza which usually I can eat a whole pizza. It might have been a fluke I'm not giving up and I will try it again. Growing up with Italian families I'm pretty familiar how a good pizza should taste especially when they use the best ingredients. I know that they use good ingredients at this restaurant I will try it again.

2 weeks ago had eggplant parm. Amazing. Today had manicotti. Gooey inside and crispy top. Good Shared mushrooms and garlic bread appetizer. Enough for 6 people. Carole was very attentive and fun, again. Sooo much food in dinner portions. Even lunch specials have some leftovers!

Mamma Rosa's is a treasure.Food is always fresh and delicious. Great pizza, sub sandwiches, pasta dishes. The garlic bread is fantastic. Meal portions are always more than you'd think. I've been coming here since around 1988.The staff is always buzzing around busy. They do a lot of to go orders also. Went for lunch with coworkers, and the place was packed. If you haven't already been here, go check it out. It's totally worth your time and money. Family owned. Local gem.

The food is delicious here! I ordered a large amount for takeout for a work event. The service was outstanding, Paul was very helpful in varying the food to my car and had a kind and professional demeanor. While I didn't dine in, the restaurant has a very cute ambiance and there were plenty of happy patrons there.

What a gem! Discovered this restaurant recently and have been back twice! The pizza is excellent, as is the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. This is my new go to Italian restaurant. Friendly, courteous service, too!

The best Italian food! We brought our family from out of town (Hawaii) in 40 minutes before closing. The staff were so awesome, super friendly accommodating and didn't rush us. We had ravioli, chicken piccata, ravioli with pink sauce, spaghetti and garlic bread. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. We took cannolis and spumoni ice cream home. They are such great people. My cousin is a foodie and she loved her chicken piccata! If you're on your way home from Viejas, give them a try. You will love them!

Better than Marechiaro's (Old Highway 80). Good but not great. To be fair, Marechiaro's is not as good now as even two years ago. Now on to Mamma's. I ordered the large Mamma Rosa Special (no olives), thin crust, via Toast. The ordering was straight forward and I received confirmations but I never got a notice that my pizza was ready. Luckily it was ready when I arrived at the restaurant. Toppings generous without being overloaded, sauce not too sweet. I think the crust was well baked but the flavor was meh. The crust was the biggest disappointment. Someday I'll find a great pizza out here in East County... or maybe I won't. Guaranteed I won't find it in Chula Vista when my house is finished. Oh yeah, it's also expensive at $30 with tax for the large pizza. Three meals for me but other shops are at $22 to $26.
