I recently went in with some inherited black powder rifles (that I knew almost nothing about how to handle) and the guys at LMC spent a wildly unexpected amount of time (in a good way, very hospitable) helping me learn and figure out what to do and to feel confident to put out to the range and give them a go. It was very kind for them to spend as much time as they did educating me. I'm very grateful and couldn't help but jump in here and give them a good review. They went above and beyond.

Went to visit San Diego and stopped by LA Mesa Collectibles (LMC Ammo). I'm from NYC looking for primers that are just unavailable in NY.The staff treated me like an old friend. They had the primers. They also had suggestions to save me money. The guys there were just great.Thank you. I really enjoyed my experience there. I look forward to stopping by on my next visit.

I know nothing about black powder guns and Mike helped me out tremendously. I ended up purchasing a blk powder Remington revolver.

I've been to LMC ammo for the 1st time about two weeks ago and 2 more times in the past two weeksl Reason for going was to buy a black powder revolverof some sort because of California's gun law restrictions. I ended up with a pietta 1858 new army revolver. Myself not knowing anything about muzzleloaders, Mike was very helpful going over the gun itself. Myself not knowing anything about the value (I should of done my research first) of muzzleloaders. As stated above, I bought an 1858 Pietta New Army Model revolver, and afterwards looked up the price online and LMC's price was consistent with what i looked up. I went back a week later, and bought a Traditions 50 cal Flintlock rifle with a 24" barrel with a1/48" twist. Again the value was actually a little cheaper than online models. Especially when you think of tax and shipping charges, plus you have to wait to get the rifle.

Lmc ammo is not the cheapest however the guys there are knowable and always eager to help and answer questions and even when turner's screwed me on some reload primers that sold me was incorrect , they sympathize with me an bought the primers that turner's wouldn't return, nice bunch of guys

Really nice store tucked away into a corner of El Cajon. The place is small and the aisles are narrow because the store is packed wall to wall! I was like a kid in a candy store, my eyes were everywhere! Prices are higher than big box stores but cash remains king. Any price difference is overlooked once you talk to the guys behind the counter. Their knowledge, willingness to help you, and genuine recommendations they give are top notch. Mike was a great help! Can't wait to visit again!

First timer - amazed at the selection and variety. Hard to find components and largest in stock powders list I've seen to date. I will be back!

My credit card was charged $15 over the amount on my receipt. The place is already super expensive for what you get. Unbelievable that the owner will smile in your face, charge unscrupulously high prices then overcharge your credit card. NEVER NEVER go here. Support honest businesses

You can trust the 4 & 5 star reviews for what they're focused on. The people here are very knowledgeable and easy to work with. What I counted on them most in the past, bulk powder and primers, bulk ammo, is unavailable in California now. I buy online and ship to our Oregon address. I come here not for powder and ammo anymore but hoping for small parts and miscellaneous if I run short. Today all I needed was a 3 or 5 slot picatinny rail for a Daniel Defense sling mount. They only stock KeyMod rails. The SOCOM dumped KeyMod for M-Lok in 2017. M-Lok was already more popular commercially then. It's dominant today. The 2 star discount is just a warning they're serving their established clientele as well as possible in California but any gun shop not carrying the Mil Spec attachment system isn't concerned about keeping up with current users and builders. Unfortunately you save time going online. PS: I'm NOT in SF! Never have been. LMC is my closest gun shop. Yelp screwed my account up more than year ago and won't fix it. 99% of my reviews were dumped and I was assigned to the once great City, now a Sewer.
