I am standing in line- a very long line! I have asked 2 times for another checker. Only one person is checking people out! She called for help, no one came! I asked a second time kindly and said "you need some help". After 15 minutes waiting, someone finally came ! When entered the line there were 11 people ahead of me and one checker!

I've been to this store twice, and both times have been stressful so I won't return. It's probably a great store if you know exactly what you want and what they have available in stock without having to ask, as well as a good knowledge of fabrics. If you have a question about whether they stock certain products that are on their website, or if you want something that's locked up behind a glass door (such as the Posca pens I came for and never received), you're out of luck. The staff isn't knowledgeable about the brands they stock, there is so few staff available (around 4 people for a massive store) that if you want help getting a locked up item you're seemingly out of luck unless you want to wait twenty minutes plus, and this is on a quiet Sunday afternoon! I'm generally patient and understanding in these circumstances, but it's happened twice now and the attitude of the workers is that you're putting them out somehow simply by asking for help (or at least the ones I spoke to...I'm sure some are fine). It's a shame as I prefer to support brick and mortar stores when I can, but it's online I go.

is this place going out of business? What a mess. Dirty, empty shelves, understaffed. 15 people in line, 2 cashiers and one of them leaves. The poor cashier left to do all of the work also had to answer the phone while all of us waited. Won't be back.

I orders online. I followed the email links to tell them when I'm "on the way" and then when "I arrived". Nobody came out. I went inside. There was a line of 20 people. I asked the register lady if I have to wait in the line for an online order. She said yes. How absurd. Other people in the line agreed that they should've just checked me out. It's three small items already pre-packaged.

They were 12 people waiting to pay with two cashiers, and the one cashier left to take a break. It took 30 minutes to get through to pay. They are ridiculously understaffed. I hate to even give them one star.

I went over there. There was 10 people in line and a manager came up to check a bill for the cashier and then walked away and left the cashier with all of us so I ended up walking out because I didn't have time to get my stuff my break was over. There is numerous employees in the store, and I couldn't believe management wouldn't help the cashier get the line out and help the customer.Very disappointed

I ended up calling to speak to a manager today about the very poor customer service from a woman at the cutting table. Other than calling out my number when it was my turn, she did nine cuts of fabric and did not say one word to me, did not make eye contact, and did not say thank you. I told her how much fabric I needed from each bolt - she didn't even ask me that. She just stood there waiting to be told the amount. I did not appreciate buying $70+ worth of fabric and being treated in such an unfriendly manner. Unfortunately, when I got up to the cash register I spaced out about the coupon I had for 20% off my entire purchase. When I called later to speak to the manager about the team member at the cutting table, I asked what their policy is about reminding/encouraging customers to make use of their coupons. The manager explained that cashiers can only ask a customer for their phone number, but are not allowed to ask if the customer has any coupons to use. Another really friendly customer service point there, JoAnn Fabrics. Also, when I asked to speak to a manager, the associate didn't want to pass the phone to the manager until I stated my name. That shouldn't be a prerequisite to talking to a manager, especially when the manager didn't even address me by name when she took the call! Ever since Covid, this store has really gone downhill, and I think they've had - at this point - ample time to get their act together and to serve their customers properly. They are (by their own admission) understaffed and it's next to impossible to find a team member to help in any area of the store besides the cutting table and the cash register. I was a very faithful JoAnn Fabrics and Crafts customer when I lived in another city, but this store in El Cajon is a poor example for the chain. The store is very dirty and the lighting is horrible. It's very difficult in some aisles of the fabric section to discern the actual colors of the cloth because of burned out lights. (By the way, don't make the mistake to look up unless you're ready to see filthy vents around the store.) I plan to drive further to go to a different JoAnn's store in the area next time I need their products to see if it's a better shopping experience. Given the propensity for people to shop online, the people with physical stores ought to pay more attention to their stores' appearances and the customer service standards.

Honestly this store has what I need. I sometimes feel bad because it's always one cashier and the line is super long. But that's something I can't control. That's a management issue. Just wanted to give 5 stars to the older gentlemen who is always working the register. Not sure his name, but he's super polite and is always trying to maintain a clean area. He's very respectful and I appreciate him! That's all (:

I live a good distance away so I usually call to see if the store has what I'm looking for before making the trip. To be told "If we have it, it would be on isle#." Well, obviously I'm not in the store to walk over to that isle. I asked to speak to someone that would know, or could look at the inventory to find out before I make the trip down the mountain just to be told everyone was too busy to help. That's fine, Michael's and Walmart are just down the street. So long Joanne's.

Five stars to Mollie at the Fletcher JoAnns!!! I went into the store close to close and everyone had questions. Mollie helped and answered questions for absolutely every person we passed. I was very pleased with her level of customer service and the fact that she did it with a smile You can tell she loves her job and she made my experience more than pleasant. Thank you Mollie!!!

I needed some fabric, I got there like 5 minutes before they closed. I felt bad about it but I really needed it for next morning. The staff helped me out and I was out of there right around 9. Jada on the cutting table was really fast. Thanks for helping me out.
