Place was moderately packed and all I wanted was a bottle of Vodka out of the cabinet but when I asked the guy at customer service if he could help me he said any cashier could open the cabinet for me, then he proceeded to stand around doing absolutely nothing but chatting with his colleague.

Today I was at this location paying at the register and two cashiers were speaking badly about other customers specifically about Asian shoppers. It made my husband and myself very uncomfortable. These cashiers are very unprofessional.

This place just keeps getting worse. Sometimes looking for a shopping cart is an issue itself. Then, inevitably they are dirty and full of trash.
They are often out of the simplest things. And I believe the reason continues to be that they allow a certain minority segment of the population use Food4Less less as a "distributor" to stock their own mini-marts.
On any given day, you can see people almost always Middle Easterners, their shopping carts are full with 30 or more units of the same product. I wanted Mazola oil, just one bottle as it was listed as being on sale, bit there are Zero left! And the sale just started thar day! A few minutes later I see this guy and his shopping cart is completely full!!!!
This happens every day, all day long. I'm not exaggerating! Soda, cooking oil, everything. They wipe out Food4Less, take the products to their little mini-marts on Main Street and of course doubles the price or more.
Management at this store and I'm sure corporate doesn't care because it's money in the bank to them. But for us customers it is frustrating.
Also, their rotisserie chickens are almost always old and look mangled.
The people who stock the shelves are rude idiots. They always block the aisles and ignore you when they see a customer with a cart approaching. They get all huffy when you ask them to move their stuff out of the way do you can get by.
They should be doing the stocking during slower times but I guess stocking is an all day thing for them since they have to make sure the Middle Easterners have 40 bottles of cooking oil. Forget us regular customers who just needs one!!!
I read recently that the parent store, Kroger, are going to be shutting down quite a few of their Food4Less stores because of declining business. I suspect this El Cajon distributor will probablysurvive, barely.
Filthy parking lot, Filthy shopping carts, Filthy store and Filthy customers!

Excellent service, good cashiers, only sometimes when I pass at around 6:30 there is no bakery bread, well yes there is but they don't bring it out and they make you wait, which I can't do because I go to work.

Very disrespectful staff and security gaurd. I have never had issues at food4less before and usually everyone is super nice . But this time was the worse experience I've ever had at food4less. I also work retail and understand about policy's and having shifty days but it doesn't excuse using aggressive one's in situations that don't require it especially when it's a simple misunderstanding. I always come in to get food supplies or other nesscarry needs for my home with my backpack that I carry with me everywhere because I need to carry on me 24/7 to hold my medical supplies that I am require to have on me at all times incase of emergencies. I went wearing my head phones and didn't hear or see the security make a statement in regarding my backpack and then I got aggressively talked to by an employee who kept cutting me off when trying to explain I have medical issues that makes me unable to see out of my sides and hearing issues and he kept talking g over me and cutting me off saying I need to stop playing games when i was simply trying to explain my disability and why i didn't hear them .

This store was a nasty, dangerous heath issue mess yesterday. 4 aisles had food spills . 1 was liquid with Glass and No Cones around the area.
