I purchased a Groupon for partial highlights and made an appointment. I drove the 30 minutes from home to the salon, where I was informed the stylist wasn't there yet. She arrived 15 minutes late, only to tell me that she couldn't do my highlights because I didn't have enough grow out. I went elsewhere and had the highlights done.
I then returned several weeks later to let my daughter use the Groupon. Our appointment was at 11:00am. Upon arrival, we were informed that the stylist was supposed to be there at 10:00am, but "didn't show up." It sure would've been nice if they would've let me know she didn't show up when they knew about it at 10:00 and before we had driven all the way out there. Another wasted hour of driving round trip. They offered to get her in two hours later. I declined, as I have completely lost any faith that someone will actually be there and/or perform the work.
This place is so incredibly unprofessional, I am truly surprised they are still in business. Don't waste your time, there's a decent chance no one is doing your hair.

I had done a temporary red on my hair. As it started to fade , it was really obnoxious. Malena took me in right away to help me strip the red and get back to my brown tone. Actually my brown naturally is a 2. So to go lighter brown is a lot on my super coarse hair. I know it doesn’t look like it but I promise you it’s coarse and thick. So very happy she even squeezed me in for a trim as well. Thank you so much.

This place is great at cutting my hair. This place has great staff and appointments, and to walk in, it was kinda hard we had to come back the next day with a scheduled appointment, but we also showed up around there closing time
Stylist: Andrea is great she trimmed my wife's hair and did an excellent job on both my wife and my complete hair cut and shampoo with an after cut rinse and style ? she's a good stylist .

My hairstylist (Bree) was very professional. She listened to what I said & cut my hair exactly how I wanted it done. Bree worked quickly & efficiently, was very pleasant to converse with. There was an eliminated OPEN sign in the window. Walked in and the only stylest there said "were closed". This was at 4:20pm. Per website they were not supposed to be closed until 6pm. Never again will come here! Poor customer service!!!!

I visited Fantastic Sams to get partial highlights, the hair stylist name was Jackie. I will never return, not even for a hair trim! I asked the hairdresser for an ash blonde on my already growing highlights, I clearly stated that I didn’t want yellow highlights! But what was the ending result? Same color! If she couldn’t change the color, she should’ve just let me know. Very poor job!!I showed the color to my wife, and she said that they even look more yellow! Ugh! Rancho San Diego location.She didn’t even touched the gray hair on my temples, she said that was an extra charge.

I’ve been coming to this Fantastic Sams location for over ten years. I will not be returning. My daughter and I stopped in for haircuts last Saturday. The “stylist” checked us in. I saw Coral was free and asked if she was available. I explained that Coral had cut my hair previously and knew how to work with it since it’s fine and ultra straight. She responded that she would ask Coral if she was available. I mentioned that if not, maybe she could ask Coral what technique she uses. Coral actually coached the last person who cut my hair. She knows how it should be cut. Well, that’s the last this woman spoke to me. Coral wasn’t able to do my hair since she had a client scheduled. I sat back down in the waiting area since the stylist had disappeared. The woman then came to the front after a walk-in customer came in and took him back to her chair; she offered me no explanation as to why she left me sitting there. I asked what was up. Coral then came over and told me that said stylist "wasn’t comfortable" cutting my hair. Excuse me? I asked if I had inadvertently been rude to her. I didn’t feel that I had been. I don’t know if this gal is just a Prima Donna working at Fantastic Sams and gets insulted if a client prefers to see a stylist they’ve seen before or if she just really didn’t know how to cut my hair, but the entire situation was handled so poorly. If said stylist didn’t want to cut my hair for whatever reason, that should have been communicated to me instead of just letting me sit in the waiting area wondering why she was taking another customer. The situation made me very uncomfortable.The visit gets worse. My daughter had asked her stylist for a very simple cut. For reference, she requested a straight cut, just below her shoulders with a slight face frame. No layers. Easy, right? She’s had her hair cut this way for virtually her entire life (at this location) and never had any issues getting a nice cut. That ended today. Because of all of the other drama, we didn’t notice what a terrible job her stylist had done. The back of her hair was ridiculously uneven, as was the face frame. She called the store immediately after we got home and saw the botched cut. To their credit they did tell her to come right back in to have it fixed. Sadly, her stylist had to ask Coral to help her fix it! Honestly, it’s not a complicated cut at all. I think maybe this place is short on stylists that know how to cut hair properly. Is Coral the only stylist that knows how to cut hair here? I don’t know what happened to this place but if you do go, make an appointment to see Coral, otherwise cut your own hair. It will look better.

My hair stylist, Coral, managed to cut my hair perfectly… giving me a look I can ROCK!! Me and my mom only go to this Fantastic Sams for the wonderful hair cuts/styles, and always such a great experience… we are loyal patrons and highly recommended this hair salon !Service: Haircut
