Spacious room for the price. Has mini fridge and microwave. Doesn't require a deposit to stay with is great.
Walkability: There's a Walgreens, grocery walmart as well as like a dozen fast food places, liquor store, gas station all within just a few blocks.

Was there in 2023. Not a good experience with the staff. Felt like I was treated like a piece of gum on the bottom of a shoe. Just telling it like it was.
Rooms: Vnery sorry đ you will find out there. It's in a bad neighborhood, a grip of the scary scandal type . Go to the hotel circle in mission valley.
Nearby activities: Not a whole lot to do, no one is friendly, especially if they think you might be outdoors aka homeless.

The staff is very creepy. It's family owned so I'm sure there's just no regulation. There are cigarette burns in the bed sheets lol they should definitely replace that but hey what do I know. All in all I'm just weirded out by the staff. I wouldn't stay here as a single female.

This place is absolutely not worth your money and unkept.I paid a 3rd party to save a few bucks because they said they serve hot breakfast and it looked clean online.. no hot breakfast. But entering my room the first thing I noticed as I open the door was roaches scatter.. im like nope..I went and asked for another room.. no roaches in next room yet. but the TV, the fridge and microwave did not work.. the floors where filthy and for being a no smoking room it had burns everywhere on the blankets and floors.. my key stopped working when I had to leave my room twice... then as i go to see if the power is unplugged on the appliances and bam, more roaches..I would absolutely be happy if what I say makes a difference for you to never try this place out..I want you to never experience what I did tonight..I won't ask for my money back.. they should offer it back.. I'll never see a dime back but I hope my review makes a true impact.. just damn gross here.....added note: I'm dead asleep finally after posting my review and cleaning up bugs they decided call and wake me up at 1am to ask me to come down and speak with them.. that pissed me off.. so tommarow I'll leave them my pest control business card and go from there.. seems they need me...

This is a nasty place to stay. Dirty place owner/ Manager is rude the shower faucet of the room they gave me didnât work I told him I didnât want to stay he said no refund on your stay. Didnât want to give me another room!. Worse experience for a vacation dont waist your time or money.
All this happen in the first 5 minutes of arrival

My stay at Rancho Hotel was a nightmare. The room was filthy, and I woke up with bed bug bites. The showers didn't work, and the hair dryer barely functioned. To make things worse, the card reader for the door malfunctioned frequently. There was always a bad smell in the room, and housekeeping was nonexistentâthey didnât clean daily or change the sheets. Overall, a terrible experience, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

Absolutely horrible experience. Dangerous area, very stinky room, sticky floors, shower head sprayed all over, TV did not work, disgusting thilthy old motel
I should have stopped the moment it was posted at the front office that "The deposit would not be reinbursed after 15 minutes"

Donât go here itâs disgusting⌠and the front desk staff are rude as hell definitely donât go here if you donât want to be pissed off every time you see their face.đ I didnât get there names but they seemed to be Indians. They speak so softly through the glass and donât speak the hell up, and get mad when I tell them to repeat themselves, speak the hell up.. also I turned the heater on and the smoking alarm in the room went off?? Bathroom are so dirty, water pressure sucks so canât count on a good shower, elevator is gross, smells like cigarettes everywhere, the only good thing that they have here are the house keeping one lady was very sweet I tipped her before I left.

Pros:
⢠Was most affordable hotel I could find in San Diego County
⢠Simple, fast service. ID check.
⢠Doors had two locks
⢠A TV
⢠Pool (Gate was broken, nearly impossible to access). ~4 1/2 ft depth
⢠Breakfast offered 6am-9am (Ads said it was free, but the clerk used the word âbuyâ. We didnât end up getting it)
⢠Room stocked with amenities like towels, soaps, shampoos, ect. (I know its bare minimum but Iâm grasping at straws here)
⢠Generally clean room and bathroom in our experience.
⢠Quiet location, no loud noises, bangs, vocalizations, construction, ect. An aside: Walls seemed quite soundproof (the housekeeper could not hear me through the door)
Cons:
⢠Couple of bugs in the room and bathroom. I donât want to think about how many crawled about when we were asleep.
⢠Hot tub had no water, doesnât look like itâs worked for ages.
⢠Sketchy area. People hanging around in the parking lot, surrounding buildings look abandoned,
⢠Staff is not happy to be there. Donât expect smiles.
⢠Rather small parking lot, but fortunately not many cars.
⢠Checkout at 11am instead of noon.
⢠Not much around, 25-30 min away from downtown San Diego.
⢠TV had no Netflix, no way to connect iPhone, no YouTube, ect⌠You better be a fan of TV channels.
⢠$139 per night. One can find cheaper hotels nearer to San Diego. In all fairness, our stay was during the peak of the Pride parade & festival as well as being just before Comicon, so perhaps it momentarily spiked prices.

The floor had a sticky substance in a certain area. The bathroom was not cleaned. There was almost what looked like black sand in the tub. Above the tub was a poorly âfixedâ ceiling that was leaking. Roaches. Roaches everywhere. With in the first hour I seen about 15 baby roaches. $200 for this room đ¤˘

The rooms are horrible and smell all over the premises. Avoid booking
Rooms: Toilets, tub and floors are dirty. Everything is just not welcoming, make you not want to stay.

After a cross country tour staying in many motels, this is the worst one. The worst. Cigarette burns all over a non-smoking room, a broken shower with no water, the keys never worked, the rudest staff imaginable. Avoid with extreme prejudice.
