The business is slow to produce their products when delivery does occur many of the products are wrong and require return for correction. Poor designs poor quality wood, cabinets put together without attention to grain, huge knots in what was ordered as clear and many other poor quality related issues. I would NOT recommend this shop to anyone. A change in leadership is the only plausible answer to this continuing trend.

Knotty Hole was recommended to us by our designer and another local professional. They were a bit more expensive than the other 2 bids we received for our custom kitchen and bath cabinets, but they were absolutely worth it! Tod (the owner) and Rick were just incredible during the design phase - helping us to see things and think about things that we had not forseen. Don is the foreman in the shop and is just as knowledgable and helpful as Rick and Tod. All in all, we couldn't be happier with our experience at Knotty Hole. After the cabinets were installed we bugged them for extra shelves and other little odds and ends, and they were just terrific about making sure we were happy with our new kitchen and other cabinets. I haven't yet mentioned the cabinets themselves, but they are spectacular! We did the perimeter in rift-sawn oak and we had KHW build a large island and a fixed bench out of reclaimed claro walnut. The oak was easy, but we had to visit several wood shops to find suitable walnut material, but Tod was patient with us and ultimately went to the wood shop to examine and approve the lumber and the veneers for the walnut pieces. I think that others would have been "too busy" to put up with us, but Tod was patient and helpful and thorough. We couldn't be more pleased with how their work turned out. I would use them again over and over. They probably won't be the least expensive bid you get, but I would wager that they'll do the best work!

My experience working with Knotty Hole was very positive. The build quality, fit and finish of the cabinets they made for me were great. They created a complex series of cabinets and customized pieces for my media room, home office and other rooms in the house that really were exceptional. They were helpful with hardware recommendations for cabinets and quite easy to work with. So far after 4 years in our house we haven't found a single defect in the dozens of cabinets that they created for us.

Knotty Hole builds very high quality wood works. Thier craftsmanship always amazes me.
