Wonderful hotel! They were very generous and offered great hospitality to my family during an unplanned visit. They were very helpful. The facility was very clean and inviting. I can’t recommend them enough.

We’ve stayed at the Mossbrae several times now. Like all the other reviewers have stated, it’s a clean, well-appointed hotel with easy instructions for self check-in. The only two “dings” I would give them as a self-described luxury hotel is that twice now we’ve had to call about the lack of hot water in the shower; this has happened in two different rooms on two separate occasions. Additionally, we were a little surprised that during our most recent stay of 4 days and 3 nights, our room was never cleaned. If there are no regular housekeeping services during guest stays, this seems appropriate to post on the hotel website. Other than these two issues, this hotel remains one of the best places to stay in the surrounding area.
Rooms: The three rooms we’ve stayed in have been large and offered a skillful blending of historical and modern furnishings.

A very nice place. We were in room 7, the accessible room on the first floor. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The only parking is on the street and you have to schlep everything in from there. No one one site, which was new for us, and codes to get into the front door and room.

As a motel manager and bed and breakfast innkeeper, I tend to be quite critical when staying at other establishments, particularly when it comes to cleanliness, which is my top priority. Overall our experience was very positive.
From the moment we walked in, the cleanliness of the hotel was evident. The lobby was spotless, and our room was immaculate. The bedding was fresh, the bathroom gleamed, and even the often-overlooked corners were free of dust.
A particularly nice touch was the availability of a variety of phone charger cords in the room. I had forgotten mine, and this small convenience made a big difference in my stay.
We ran into the housekeeper in the lobby one afternoon. She offered a friendly smile and asked if we needed anything.
I highly recommend to anyone looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay. They pay attention to the details that matter, which is a sign of a truly well-managed establishment.

Perfect Hotel in an awesome little town. Will definitely come back.
Food & drinks: THE BEST in room coffee I’ve ever had. Kudos to the management for knocking it out of the park. High quality local beans, gear for pour overs and French press as well as detailed instructions for proper brewing and a nice kettle. So refreshing to find this!

It’s a charming and nicely appointed hotel! Our room was spacious and designed to fit in to the town’s aesthetic. Because we were here on a Monday, there weren’t a lot of dining options so we went to the local grocery store and grabbed food/wine to eat in the room. As there were plates, glasses, a knife, and cork screw it worked out very well!
If traveling back through I’d stay here again.

I've lived in the area for ten years and was always impressed with Mossbrae Hotel's reputation. Recently, I had the opportunity to stay three nights there and they definitely earned those kudos. Great location in downtown Dunsmuir, beautiful lobby and well appointed rooms. The ambiance was so peaceful. The staff kind and responsive. I enjoyed my stay and highly recommend Mossbrae for your next stay in the area.Rooms: Well appointed, lovely decorNearby activities: There is so much to do in the nearby area. Dunsmuir is located along the 5 freeway so accessible to all of the cool sites and activities of the Mt Shasta area.Safety: Dunsmuir is a walking city, with nearby restaurants a wine bar and some shopping.

Excellent and luxurious; carefully decorated in a style one might call Late Chenille. Large, elegant bathroom. Tidy, perfect kitchenette. Helpful staff upgraded me on hearing there was a problem with my original room. They honored my ESA letter, and the dog and I felt at home. Dunsmuir is also really special and beautiful, somehow better and larger even than advertised.

What a gem! This is a beautifully restored hotel with all the amenities - super comfy linens and a well-outfitted kitchenette with a french press, coffee and cream in the fridge!! We loved every bit of it and highly recommend!! ❤️

Rooms have very nice touches. It’s the little things that count! The rooms are also very clean. Check in and access was very easy as it is done through text with codes for key pads. We didn’t actually see any staff but I’m sure if we needed something it would have been quickly taken care of. Would stay again.

A cute little place in a narrow old building, elegantly restored. It's a block from the riverbank. A beer and burgers place is up the street, and a pizza joint is down the street. Other than that, you'll have to drive to the town of Mount Shasta, which has a dazzling array of chain restaurants.
