The best Bharatanatyam dance training. For excellent dance technique and abhinaya instruction, Kalaikoil is the way to go! Your child will become a true artist here.

My daughter has been going here from last year and she loves it. Swetha ma'am is amazing and my daughter is lucky to be her student. She encourages her a lot and also provides opportunities to perform on stage. To go place to learn Bharatnatyam.

My daughter has been going to Kalaikoil for almost 2 years, since she was 5 years old. Ms. Swetha is passionate about the art, dedicated and she guides the kids as a good Guru should. She would let me stay inside the class till my daughter got familiar with her and the environment. So I have seen the way she instructs her students. She keeps in touch with the parents through emails and FB group and is quite quick in responding in case we have any questions. Kalaikoil is perfect if you are committed, patient and have the discipline needed to properly learn a traditional art form like Bharatanatyam.

This is a longgggg overdue review. My older daughter started going here when she was 4.5 years old. Now she is 13 years. She loves it there. She started there as a shy, young girl. Early on, she didn't show that much grace in her steps as the other kids in her group. Swetha, her guru told us right away, that expressions were her forte, the grace in her steps will come with practice, as she grows older and becomes more disciplined. Both are important parts of dance. I frankly didn't believe it then, but continued because she was interested. Today, almost 10 years later, she still loves going there. She has grown as a dancer. She still has a long way to go, to perfect her technique and steps, but I am sure with Swetha's training she will get there. The best part of all this is that she is ready to wake up even at 6:00 am on a Sunday to attend a dance offering at a temple. She motivates her students that way. She spends a lot of time with her students, giving each of them corrections individually. She also provides ample opportunities to students for exposure. My younger one started there recently. She too loves it there and will continue there.

Rude. Rude. Rude. That sums up my 5 minute telephone conversation as I tried to learn about their program, and if they aren't even close to polite to a parent, just imagine what your child could possibly endure. If your looking for a traditional dance program for your child be thankful that there are tons of very skilled, traditional ones throughout the Bay Area. Don't waste your time trying this one.

I love going to this dance academy. Swetha, the dance teacher for this academy is very charming, welcoming, accommodating and dance has been her forte since her childhood, so who better than her for the Bay Area dance enthusiasts. She is great with kids and adults and seems to love her profession and is completely into spreading the art and ethos of indian classical dance
