“Love this shop! Tim and Johanna have a system that provides transparent, honest diagnostics so the consumer can make value-based decisions. While my car needed a lot of work, the prioritization made it possible to do the critical immediately and defer less critical for the future. Diagnostics have a cost, but are a great value as noted above. It's nice to have a complete list along with quotes - no surprises. Their prices are fair - Tim is a master bmw tech and has top notch staff mechanics. You might find a cheaper shop, but Bimmer is the best value imo.”

Not only is his workmanship exceptional, he is exceptionally warm and friendly. He gave me excellent and honest advice when I asked whether or not it was worth repairing my 2008 Honda Civic after a minor accident left the hood of the car and both headlights in bad shape. “Do your research for dealership comparison on parts and servicing. You should find their pricing is notably competitive. Certified Auto has been in business Forty-three years. Be mindful their prices could include additional fees. I paid two separate fees in addition to labor. One was a Core Fee. I was told by Ken it pertained to part disposal. Gene (the owner) explained further about the Core Fee. He stated it was a credit, the part provider normally refunds the auto shop. If the auto shop returns the old part to them. Gene explained, returned old parts could be used to rebuild the same/similar parts. I was not offered a starter rebuild. But, because I requested the replaced part. I incurred a Core Fee ($36). There is also a Hazard Fee on oil change/servicing. Valerie was extremely welcoming and helpful with questions. She explained their Hazard Fee is for clean-up and cloths, etc. as applied to oil change/servicing. Aside from those additional fees charged. I had been referred by AAA. The discount (I was told by Gene) is a $50 maximum. So, if the total of your service is $500 or over. Then you automatically receive the $50 credit. I received the fifty dollar AAA maximum credit They provided free shuttle and car wash. They have a small well maintained waiting area. Certified Automotive offers a three year warranty with specified mileage criteria. I would have given them five stars. But, the additional fees were a new experience.”

“We purchased a 2010 Mini cooper through a private dealer and come to find out it was a lemon. We bought the car as is and we're unable to get any help with it. We took it to Mini or Monrovia and they quoted us 14K for a new engine rebuild. Double what we paid. We called Jim over at Macs and he said he could do it for half if that's what was even needed. It took a few months but we have our car back and we could not be more overjoyed with what he has done. Jim gave weekly updates and explained everything that he was doing. We greatly appreciate him for his work and helpfulness through this trying process! Highly recommend:)”

“I grew up in a shop, working on cars, motorcycles, and airplanes with my brother and father. My father would have us re-do anything that wasn't up HIS standard. I tell people this because the reason I have been going to Ara for years is that he is the only mechanic I have done repeated business with that has such a high standard for the quality of his work. I drive a 2011 Mini Cooper Clubman with a turbo and it runs better than when I bought it new. I really enjoy that I can drop by Ara's shop without notice when he's working on my car - we get to talk shop and he walks me through what he's doing and I'm always so happy to see someone doing a high quality and meticulous job that they're beaming with pride over. I can try and scrutinize his work as much as I want, but I always have to admit he does a better job than I could, even if my father made me re-do it three times, lol. If I have so much auto experience why do I take my car to a mechanic at all? It's a Mini Cooper, it's such pain in the ass to take apart - and Ara's got the patience, the talent, and most of all has the pride in his craft to do a perfect job every time I need to address a fix.
