Went to view a vehicle for the first time at CarMax today 4/18/24 around 3:30 pm and the last time to say the most at this particular location. As soon as we entered the door the older man's name starting with an S... was being rude. Couldn't sit us down or even view the car we were discussing because he wanted to talk numbers at the front desk. When we finally got the car he was straight ignorant stating that if we didn't buy it then someone else would either way. We tried talking to him about some noticeable issues and he straight jump into well if you don't like it as it is then oh well. Was getting frustrated at us being the first time at a CarMax knowing that they operate differently from a normal dealership. He had mentioned that we could get an estimate so we could think about however when we asked for it we got smart remarks stating that the estimate was already on the car. After that, we couldn't take the disrespect and attitude so we left to take our business somewhere else.

I read a lot of ugly reviews about CarMax. Had a decent car to sell and I thought the offer was fair. You can always sell it for more by yourself, but that can be a big pain. That's why I choose them. All the help was very good and professional. The only pain, it does take some time since they're really busy. You also get a check right away. My experience was great!

They gave me a 28,000 dollar appraisal for a 2021 infiniti q60 luxe a car I bought brand new in 2022 of July having put only 15k miles on it. Msrp was 58,000. I drove it for 1 year and 9 months mostly freeway miles, from San Diego and back for 4 of those months. with all maintenance done prior to the date and fueled with chevron premium gas only. Not a scratch on it, still looks brand new. 30k dollars less for a car like that. They tell me it's a no haggle business and they take care of all the paper work with the dmv other wise I'd have to do that and it's a waste of time and headache which I would agree, but other dealerships offer to do this as well, so don't believe that lie. Got 5 other offers from car gurus, one even offered to pick it up from my house for 28,700. Others offered over 30k one offered over 31,500. don't waste thousands of dollars with these guys that use "no haggle" line to wipe away the lack of negotiation skills and how to talk to people. But I was in a completely different mindset yesterday, thought it would be a smooth transition, but this tre guy literally omitted information from me that kept me from test driving the vehicle, he said I can't drive it at all since I didn't have my insurance, never said I could drive it with a consultant if I had no insurance. I was ready to take my car and trade it for a Mercedes of theirs and because I didn't have my insurance they told me I couldn't test drive it they never told me that I could still test drive it but with a consultant since I don't have an insurance on me yet they did not. I get my insurance the following day and I went and as I approached the parking lot they text me if I have my name on the insured list and I told him it's a family plan. It doesn't have to have my name because it's a family plan it's all combined and I've had no problems even with their dealership in the past that I've been twice so first this jack tells me that not only can't I take it on the test drive and doesn't give me the option of doing it with a consultant which he told me today that I could've done and because I didn't ask he thought I assumed that I was wanting to do it alone and assumed I'd be fine wasting my time and not driving it at all. He also tells me I can't trade the car either without my name on the insurance. IN WHAT WORLD? First off, how do you assume someone wouldn't want to drive it if not alone and decline driving it with someone, who the hell would want to not test drive it at all after going through the trouble of dealing with their bullshit all day. why the hell wasn't I offered that opportunity you idiot you could've had a car and I have the Mercedes right now and you would've done two transactions in one but you blew a deal because you wanna cross your tees and dot your eyes and don't wanna cut corners for potential business he tells me. He apologizes, you apologize for something you didn't mean, you meant to dodge a test drive because you wanted to be lazy and leave money on the table. Disgusting. You literally omitted information that would have gotten you the sale and me the test drive. The only thing you cut was your paycheck. btw 3-4 other people knew what the situation was. Not a single one of them offered me the test drive with a consultant. Is that pathetic or what? I mean there are novice businesses that can't close a deal, but they actually try, but to deliberately blow a deal? I mean they couldn't have teamed up to throw money away any harder if they tried. Deeply dissapointing.

All the staff members, (the front desk, the Business Center staff and the young guy handle our paper work (Nick)), treated us very well. We have sold 2 cars to CarMax in the past. This is our third one. The online price was honored to the penny. They don't nit pick on any minor scratches or imperfection of our used car. There is no stress, no negotiation, no waste of time, no surprise, no nonsense.. It is a really good and pleasant way to sell you car.

Had the most wonderful buying experience yesterday with the help of Jerry! This was my first time buying a car, and he made the process so seamless, and completed within the day. very straightforward and extremely extremely kind. He had very helpful answers to all my overbearing questions lol. I came in with a pre-approved bank loan, and once it was mentioned, he never tried to change our mind to finance with carmax. you can tell he really cares about the experience and quality of our visit. he personally showed me around the lot, suggesting great models I was hoping for. He very throughly made sure me and my family knew all the nuanced details and special perks carmax's warranty includes. Highly recommend requesting specifically Jerry when purchasing! Thank you again, Jerry!

No Haggling…. I love it ! However as far as Trade in Value, I felt there should have been to opportunity to get hugger value on my 2011 Audi that had less than 92K miles and is in superior condition…

Very bad service ? I took my truck due to problems with a light and the heating and they returned it to me after 3 weeks with a lot of damage. I took it a month ago and they have damaged the paint and with broken parts. If there is a rating below zero, I will give it that I and the staff give it a zero and form of customer service
