Professor Chris is a gifted instructor with a passion for Jiu jitsu. He cares for his students and excels as a mentor and role model for children and teens. He has recruited and trained a wonderful set of coaches that assist most classes. I have trained with him and can assist for his competitive Jiu jitsu savvy, very technical. What is more, gb Downey is part of a much larger organization that has schools world wide. Would recommend 10/10

Ive been lookin for a bjj school for my daughter & finally found one she likes & weve tried a couple in the area & wasnt impressed & Yes ive tried callin & no call back so i thought it was closed. Until i went to connect bjj & sw becker & he recommended we go here & said they are still open & i rushed over & it was great that we did cause my daughter really likes it here. professor chris is very detailed while explaining techniques to both kids & adults & coaches r good as well.. great atmosphere & really great place for jujitsu .. unfortunately not able to join with my daughter at this time. But in the future i will be... kids class at 515 & adults class at 715 ...

Really dope BJJ Academy/Community. The instructors/profs are amazing with the little ones and do a great job teaching the art, while keeping things fun/engaging. Highly recommend!

The discipline started at Gracie, 14 years old Then and now 17 years downey HS. Wrestling has improved my sons take downs in jiu jitsu.

We love Gracie Barra Downey. We have been taking our daughter for 3+ years, she is now 8. They are very patient and all their activities are motivational and geared to the children in the class. Our daughter enjoys participating and her self-esteem and social skills have improved greatly. Friends are made and it is a safe and welcoming place. Her friends feel safe around her.

Took the free introduction class and I was like a dry sponge in a pool taking in as much as I could, I really enjoy i will be attending as much as possible.
