So, I went in today to purchase my makeup. I haven't purchased makeup in quite sometime. I am not one to order to have this delivered to me. I like the personal touch. I like to speak with the reps and know what's new and what there is to look forward to soon. Today's visit was honestly the best one yet here at MAC Macy's at the Stonewood Center in the city of Downey, CA. It is not often you are greeted with a smile at any makeup location. There is a stigma that goes with makeup techs, it's not a good one. You're there, they're nice to make a sale and move on with their day. This is about the gist of the thing. Not this time around. I was pleasantly greeted by Ms. Katlin Skaggs. She had an interest in me and my daughter and even shared a little about herself. That human touch can't be replaced or forgotten. I missed this. The makeup I needed was not readily available. I do eventually have to wait for my order to come in the mail BUT she did offer an alternative, educated me in how that alternative may change the look and feel but overall provide the same result, I said that I was ok with the wait. I needed this touch of humanity. This smile, I'm sure, held under the cloth of her face and was for sure under mine. We finished up and off I went. Yes, these are uncertain times and makeup techs are here, there and everywhere BUT someone showing a genuine interest in you and your happiness with your purchase is irreplaceable and downright necessary. Thank you.

They wouldn't accept my gift card, I drove all the way there and shopped for an hour and when I tried to pay with it they refused. I work in customer service myself and with a time like this I'd try to help any customer I can. Gave them a one because they didn't even want to help me! Terrible company

I am very disappointed with Macy's. I bought a pair of shoes in March (before the outburst of covid19) with the amount of $26.86. Due to unforeseen reason and with the covid pandemic, I was able to pay today, May 26. I requested them if they can waive the late fee which is the EXACT amount of the shoes that I bought --- much to my surprise --- they declined my request, so I paid the total of $57.72 instead of $26.86. I really hope that stores like Macy's will have a heart to listen to the appeals of their customers especially in this situation. Anyway, am sure this will never happen again because I cancelled my card.

The worst store. Very dirty and long lines. This is why I shop online and don't bother wwirh these brick and mortar stores. They don't know anything about customer service

The perfume department needs to stop pushing a certain perfume on to the customer. I went there with my mom to buy her husband a cologne as a Valentine's Day gift and the sales lady (do not remember her name) kept going on about the Dior scents, how popular they are and how they beat any other scent. I wasn't a fan of the smell but it wasn't up to me to choose anyway. I told my mom "You choose it's for your husband" and the sales lady says "He's your dad too." How nosy of her (He is not by the way). Then I asked her about the Versace cologne which I personally like but I just wanted my mom to smell it and the sales lady made the ugliest disgusted face and said "Ewww no no no that's terrible, it smells powdery. But you can get whatever you want." If I wanted her opinion I would've asked. I personally felt disrespected, she made it seem like she was the perfume expert when in reality all she wanted to do was a sell us that Dior cologne. She was trying to be "friendly" I guess but that is not the way to do it. Who is training these people on customer service.

I always regret coming here every time lol. I already know the employees are rude and of no assistance, however this store is literally across the street from me so I tend to keep going for that reason. The employees are always cussing throwing F bombs ect. Today I went in to price match a shoe of their own website which I've done so plenty of times at the same location and Cerritos location. Today the employee was busy in the gossip so he immediately said we don't do that ugh ok. I was having a good day so I decided to leave and go to CERRITOS AND GUESS WHAT? I got my shoes and saved money. Employees should be properly trained and know the company's regulations.

I came to the Macy's Home Store and Yessica was very helpful and had excellent customer service. She helped me with choosing the perfect bedding and was extremely helpful, sweet and very knowledgeable. She gave me her personal opinions and helped me find exactly what I was looking for. I know I will definitely be coming back for all my Home needs and I will be sure to ask for Yessica everytime!!

Jessica in the Macy's HOME department was a total b today, now I know when you return something they don't open every single package but she did. This is after she asked me if I had sealed the boxes back up myself (when Macy's sent them like that) and I told her no, they came that way. I let her open the two boxes of pots fk it .. but when she preceded to tell another worker there about how people return stuff and take things out .. now she was insulting me because she she was doing it right in front of my face. As she digged through the boxes I asked her if there was something in particular she was looking for but she didn't answer me, (by this time she had tested my patience) she proceeded to dig through the boxes and I heard her tell the other worker there is a rack missing. I let her proceed to do whatever it is she was doing and as she did my transaction separately because she was going to claim it damaged according to her. I grabbed the box looked in it myself and showed the other lady that the rack WAS in there. By then then this b had insulted me to the max already, so I was fuming. When she gave me the refund I asked for her name and I'm not done, taking this all the way up because she can't do this to other people. I insulted her on the way out which is out of my norm but I've never had anybody disrespect me to that degree and I allow it. She in sarcastic way told me how I was my foul language was horrible in front of my 7 year old daughter, well my daughter has never heard her mom say a bad word till today mam. Some people just bring out the b's in you, I walked in there nice and in a good mood and she was just unhappy to be working after New Year's Day I guess. I hate that I insulted her but I was soo pissed. I would be careful who you're rude to, you might never know who I know that can affect your job or anybody else. Be kind to everyone d*** a$$, yes I said it !!

I recently tried to make a Macy's credit card payment with some gift cards. That is against their policy? You can pay for merchandise only with a gift card, they say. Very disappointing. Nordstrom would probably take a gift card Amazon is a huge competitor, too. The key to staying in good standing now is good customer service. Step it up, Macy's! I've been a fan for a long time

Had a very good experience at Macy's; I was helped by a a cute service representative by the name of Giselle who went above and beyond helping picking out some leggings for my wife.
