Shady interaction with staff has left me feeling insecure with how my money is handled here. Recently I walked in to deposit a large amount of money and was told my total was short. This comes after the teller counted my money by hand and even had the machine verify my total, which ended up jamming in the process. A total of three staff members attempted to fix the jammed machine for a large amount of time, ripping out bills while doing so. After the machine was "fixed" the teller informed me that my total had changed from what it originally was and if there was anything else I needed. I asked him what was I supposed to do now that my total had changed from what it originally was and he replied that there was nothing more he could do. I'm still flabbergasted and greatly saddened over this blatant robbery. My faith is SchoolsFirst has been shaken and I am unsure whether to continue doing business here.

Ok service is not the same. I visited the branch recently to deposit a cashier check the teller says oh I'm going to need to place the check on hold. I then reply why are you placing your own check on hold. Then she said well you have to call in to tell me that your coming to get money out of the bank if it's a large amount. I'm like ok but what is considered a large amount bc the check was not large. She had no answer. Then I wanted to know the guidelines for placing checks on hold. No one could tell me. I contacted corporate and they explained to me the teller made that call at their preference but the cashier check could of been cashed. Such an inconvenience. Then the teller with her sarcastic commenting self says next time just bring cash for your transaction it's easier smh.

Extremely disappointed with SchoolsFirst. I thought they were the best banK to have because they looked out for you but when it finally came down to it they turned there back on me. I'm on a big loss right now and they don't give a f*** about it. There excuse is real pathetic and there idiotic comments. Just gonna finish paying of loans and on too looking for better banks. School first is not a bank that helps you. Only when it's a win for them. Screw you assholes.

Customer service sucks been on hold for 40 min to get transferred to someone who dosent know why I was transferred. It's my account my money and literally can't get answers. Poor customer service

My bag of change ripped as I was walking by the front door and two employees without hesitation came out to help me. I could not believe that happened, but they were able to help without making fun and cutting my mortification short. Thank you!!!

Most SFFCU branches deliver great service. But in 2019, I received a home loan and received horrible service from Nancy Mejia. So horrible that I do not recommend SFFCU home loans. I do not recommend the credit union in general anymore. I have heard other horrible stories from other teachers about their home loan experiences. The credit union pushes a telephone application rather than in person service, maybe this is part of the problem. Almost a year later I am still soured on the experience.

EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I came in to the Downey SchoolsFirst branch on a Saturday morning to inquire about their Summer Savers Program. I was pleasantly surprised at how courteous and organized the employees are at this location. I checked in for a consultation and was serviced just less than 5 minutes after checking in. Eva was the representative that helped me open my Summer Savers account. She thoroughly explained to me the process of depositing and transferring funds for the said account. I am very pleased with her service and happy overall with my SchoolsFirst account.

THIS IS HOW A BANK SHOULD BE RAN! Great customer service and they always put another teller on as soon as they see the line is getting long. I love SFCU! They treat me right and always welcome me as soon as I step in! Unlike the other banks where they don't care about there customers wanting them to rather go online, schools first isn't like that. Not just one facility it's all of them! Every school's first credit union I've been to are the same! I love my schools first credit union! Keep up the great job y'all!

I met an exceptional young man by the name of Alberto at the Downey SchoolsFirst credit union. He went over all my accounts and took his time to explain everything in detail. He also did not rush me or seem rushed at all. I appreciate Alberto for his kindness and for his dedication in helping members.

Member Barbara Frances Torres was a strong advocate for school resources in her community of East Los Angeles. When she became a member in the summer of 2014, she advocated to all her colleagues, and fellow LAUSD employees as she was the President at the time of classified of over 35000 SEIU Local 99 members. Because of her advocacy she helped 100s of school employees find SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union and get much needed help with their finances. Barbara passed away last month but was working on creating a Back to School give away for her community. With the generous donations from her mourners in Lieu of flowers at her services, the generous donations of various organizations including SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union of Downey and Norwalk, various officials, family and friends we were able to give much needed school supplies to the community Barbara loved so much in her honor. Thank you SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union for helping in this worthwhile community event.

It's always nerve-racking going to the bank to ask for money... even though that's what the bank is for. A couple days ago I needed money to help with some financial situation and I walked into the Downey Branch of Schools First. Ruby and Glenn were absolutely AMAZING with being able to help me with my problem and set me up for success in the future to make sure I was never in this situation again. They were both VERY friendly, relatable and understanding. Thanks to them, this has become my favorite branch! Keep up the good work and thank you!! Best regards!

School's First Federal Credit Union is the BEST! I've been with this credit union for about 8 years now. I've had and have now many products with them. Everything and everyone is awesome. Had a discrepancy charge pending on my checking account. Went in and spoke to Glenn. He was sooo nice and professional. He really helped me out and solved my situation. He even gave me a seat to sit down so I can be comfortable while he sort things out. Wow! He's just awesome! Thank you sooo much Schools First. I will not go anywhere else! :)
