I was excited to drop off two brand new women's suits last Wednesday afternoon because I had heard good things about their work. I arrived at 3:45 in the afternoon, and the door was locked though the posted hours indicate they are open until 5. The security guard tried to help me out, but to no avail. I was very frustrated because I wasted an hour and a half of a busy day.

Great selections for men but women not so much. Mostly used clothes. Some in decent shape others not so much. Staff was friendly and helpful. Their purpose is to help those with no/low income with interview clothing. If you have new or slightly used business attire this would be a good place to donate.

While this organization has a noble purpose, I'm giving it two stars for the difficulty in actually donating clothing. I went on a Friday afternoon to their Downey distribution center, arriving at around 2:00 pm, well before their Friday closing time of 3:00 pm. I located their door on the east side of a Los Angeles County schools building. The door was locked but office lights were on. I knocked several times not no answer. Two of the ladies who worked at the school facility were walking by and also tried knocking. They noted that cars of some of the employees were in the lot. We walked to the security guard inside the school facility who said they had left for lunch quite some time ago and weren't there when a woman with a 1:00 pm appointment showed up. The guard called their office but no answer. I waited around until the 3 pm closing time but no employees showed up. The following morning I went to the LA Law Library in downtown LA not far from my home which is listed as a drop off donation center. They said they hadn't been a donation point in quite some time and had tried to get themselves taken off the Clothes the Deal website as a donation place but had been unsuccessful. The next downtown donation center I tried was at Gerrick Salon on Figueroa - the final digit on the phone number was missing so I looked it up online. It was permanently closed. Strike Two. I finally called Your Cleaners Online downtown which was miraculously in business and happy to accept my donation. My husband is an attorney and is retiring so we had a lot of beautiful suits and ties to donate. The Cleaners people were very helpful, even helping us unload and has free parking (800 W First St). This organization really needs to clean up its act and its website! It should be this hard to make a donation.
