I went to renew my 3 year plan because I’ve been a customer for America’s best for over three years now and their staff mistakenly charged me for a one time exam, when I specifically said I want the three-year plan. I called to correct that mistake and was told they can’t do nothing about it I would have to pay AGAIN even though it was their staff mistake. Manager was super rude was not listening just wanted to get rid of me. She was very unprofessional.

On December 12, 2023, I went to have my eye exams for glasses and also for contacts, I paid for both exams, they did not have the contact sample from my graduation and they agreed to let me know when they arrived.On December 15, I received a text message, which said: Rachelle your eyeglasses are ready at Americas Best. Hours: Mon-Fri 9-7, Sat 9-6 Reply STOP to Cancel. Msg&DataRatesMayApplyOn December 16 I went to get my glasses and they still didn't have my contacts.A week later I called by phone saying that I had my prescription, I told myself that I had to go get it, that they couldn't send it to me by mail, and that my sample contacts had not yet arrived, I was waiting for another message that would tell me that I could go get my contact lens prescription, but the message never arrived. Yesterday, February 8, I went to ask about my contact lens prescription and they told me that it had already expired and that I had to pay again if I wanted my contact lenses. contacts, it seems unfair to me that this happens, they say that they called me and left a voice message but I never received the calls, nor did I receive a text message.And it's not my fault that they didn't have my graduation contacts when I went to take the exam, and that it took them so long to get them. I want my money back or give me the service I already paid for.

Came in for an exam and frames. Service was the best. Friendly and approachable staff. Dr. Truong made me feel comfortable. Would recommend!

I was there a few weeks ago for their promotion. The appointment was good , I was able to get my new prescription and able to choose the frames no problem.I was told I would get a call 7-10 business days. 10 business days go by, I called and ask for an update. The lady on the phone, tells me that only one pair is ready and the other should get there sometime this week. I asked if I could pick that one , since I really needed them. Since my old pair was broken. I get there, and both glasses are there! I wonder why did the lady on the phone said only one was ready and how long they been there.I’m upset because why they don’t call as soon they gave have them ready. I need glasses for everything. I was patient enough and waited the whole 10 days. And not one call.

I was there a couple weeks ago to purchase new glasses. I gave an employee my personal info to look up my insurance. She found it right away and she sent me to look around for glasses while I waited for my vision test.While i’m walking around browsing. Another employee comes up to me and asked me for my last 4 of my social (I’m standing near the sample glasses opposite end of computers) She had no notepad, she just came to ask. And I gave it to her, I didn’t think anything of it. Couple minutes later she comes back and asks again. No paper in hand to confirm my info, she just stared at me very closely when I repeated the last 4 of my social. This employee that I didn’t even get help from in the beginning asked me for my personal info 3-4 times after I was already checked in waiting for the eye exam. I feel like I was PERSONALLY singled out and asked. I feel like I was profiled due to my appearance. The whole hour or so I was there NOBODY else was asked to repeat their last 4 or any personal info. Just me.When she asked me the last time I asked her why she kept asking and I didn’t get a straight answer. I will never return to this business and I will tell all my people to do the same. I’ve never felt so uncomfortable in a business in my life.

AB in Downey is a nice store but it's the employees that really have made it a positive experience. Thank you Daniel for assisting me on the phone today, you kept apologizing for putting me on hold for so long but it wasn't long at all, probably 20 or 30 seconds tops. And you thanked me each time as well. You might just be doing your job but I still think someone did a great job of raising you. It's a rainy Saturday and many young people would probably call in sick but there you are and with a great friendly attitude. I think AB is lucky to have you.

I've been coming here for several years now. It's a nice place with nice staff. My only gripe is that appointments are meaningless. I had a 1 o'clock appointment, but wasn't seen until 2 PM.

Don’t fall for “america’s best” and their “great” prices. They'll still try to make money off of you. I went in for my eye exam and she told me she wanted to give me a weaker prescription because she doesn’t want me to experience dizzy spells etc. i said okay. I went home and thought about it and i don't want to have to buy more than one pair as necessary And that I’m okay with just getting the symptoms over with. (Which either way I experienced dizziness, no difference.) I called and told them i wanted the full prescription they said they didn't write it down. I was like what are you serious? They said to come back for another eye exam. What a waste of time but I agreed. I went in and guess what? They wasted more of my time. The manager came to me and said we don't want to give you the full prescription and that is how we do it basically. So why couldn’t you just tell me that over the phone?! I disagree with how you do things so if you’re not willing to do what the customer is asking of you then you don’t deserve my loyalty or my money.

I bought a pair for 400. When I went to pick up they were not right. They were very rude they kept arguing with me. I got my money back never to return. Don't go there .very rude

I am so dissatisfied with everything this company offers. I was due for a check up on my contact prescription. They weren't allowing me to buy contacts anymore from my old prescription (which is fair enough because the old prescription was given to me at their Pico Rivera location and I always felt it was off and not strong enough for my eyes) until I went in and was retested. So I go in and get tested and provide them my eyeglasses too. Despite them knowing one of my eyes is stronger than the other and therefore the prescription is different for both eyes, they ordered the wrong contact lenses so that I could have the same prescription for both eyes. When I went to try them on, one of my eyes felt off and the doctor explained why, aka they ordered the wrong one so I could have the same prescription for both eyes. So now I have to wait longer for the new order to come in. Approximately how long is up in the air. And I'm not able to buy contacts from my old prescription either. I'm in this weird limbo waiting on them. Due to the nature of my job, contacts are more convenient than glasses so I've been struggling this whole time. If they would have ordered the right contact lenses from the start this could have all been avoided. I thought maybe the Downey location would be different since I had a bad experience at their Pico Rivera location. Now i realize this company just operates poorly. For a few dollars more I should have gone to Costco or Walmart.

Never going back here again. Just no! They said they didn't take my insurance. So I paid out of pocket for two pair $300. Not worth it at all. The lens were too big.. unsatisfied. No thank you. Luckily I found a place that takes my insurance and I'm going there. Much cheaper.Nice staff just felt like they did not know what they were doing.. like it took 2 people to get my frame corrected and it still was not a good fit. They were the smallest pairs too.

Not sure why it's so hard to help people verify insurance coverage it only takes a few seconds rep had me on hold for over 20 minutes my guess is since its almost closing time they didn't want to help potential customers. Sad that businesses have to be this way or at least the bitter employees who work there.

Great customer service, they were very kind and accommodating to my schedule all of them at the office were very professional, I'm glad I'm change from this other chain eye doctor to this one, and the eye doctor was very throughly and spent time explaining my eye results

Bad experience ordering glasses from this business. I bought two pairs of glasses from this store , 3 weeks after not a single call, so I decided to called them, they put me on hold two times 15 minutes each, so I called again they told me that one pair was cancelled and they only have one pair ready to pickup so I went there to pickup my prescription ray bans to my surprise they decided to keep the the sun glasses that came with the brand new ray ban frame!!! I'll never ever ever buy or recommend American best base on this experience. Sorry English is not my first language I hope my review can help some people .
