I was told by the Toyota dealership in vacaville that it seemed like my transmission needed replacing, but they couldn't legally give me a diagnosis because their mechanic's license had lapsed by a month. That is a very large, very expensive job. I took it to Dave at independent automotive. He diagnosed that there was a cylinder misfiring and the spark plugs needed to be replaced. He fixed it up the same day I dropped it off. The transmission didn't need any service. Independent automotive is a great shop. They are efficient, knowledgeable, and affordable. I highly recommend independent automotive

Dave was the best. He checked my car the same day I brought it over to his shop, and he didn't even charge me for the inspection. He told me exactly what i needed fixed. He also noticed that my brake light was broken and he fixed it for my free of charge. Such a good guy. Dave is really professional. I went for an oil change and to ask him about a ticking noise my car was making. He changed my oil and found out I need a new cannister purge solenoid to fix the ticking noise. I highly recommend going to Independent Automotive in Dixon.

Would recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for an honest mechanic. I called the shop after experiencing some radiator issues and he was able to take a look at my truck that day. He recommended a new radiator cap and advised me to swing by after purchasing it from one of the local auto shops. Once returning he filled my radiator and pressure tested it. Turned out to be just a faulty cap. He said I was good to go and didn’t even accept my offer for payment. You don’t get service like that anymore! Thanks again!
