The manager offers World Class Customer Service…I forgot his name..I was there on Friday 7/26/2024 around 1:15 pm I explained I never got the $3.50 refund from the store in Palm Springs (Albertsons) as I was checking out …he gave me the $3.50…sure it’s not a fortune…but it’s the principal…without the customers …there is no business. Excellent !!! Thank you sir. Steve K.

Vons is a solid store located in Desert Hot Springs. I have never had a problem with them.

Grocery prices are high but I love to shop here! Friendly service and Good Deli meat and salads. I can't believe there's a fireworks stand there and at Starter Bros. I think Fireworks should be illegal in California especially in the desert !

I like that you can use the self checkout.

This place never ceases to disappoint. The grab and go area of the deli sits empty most days and when there are items available, the selection is inconsistent and often a few days old. The staff at this location are far more interested in each other than in assisting customers. I have heard way too many foul mouthed gossip sessions between employees all while customers are looking for help. The front end is run with little to no regard for customer service. Most days, there are only one or two cashiers working with incredibly long lines forcing customers to self checkout with entire carts of groceries to scan. I can't count how many times I have just set my items down and walked out the door. Today was the last straw. The doors were being blocked by employees and security for no apparent reason. I am done. I much prefer the selection, atmosphere and consistent shopping experience at Albertsons in Palm Springs. It's nowhere near my home but I will drive there rather than return to the poorly managed Vons in Desert Hot Springs.

Told a young lady with dark hair and dark colored hoop earrings that another customer needed help at self checkout and no one has helped her for over 15 minutes. She looked at me said it wasn't her department, fixed her hair and walked away.

If there were a lower rating I would use it. I have had the misfortune of shopping here for the past 10 years but never again. Today was the end. They cheat, they lie, they overcharge. They have ZERO customer service. You have to watch everything they ring up because I guarantee you will be overcharged for something that was on sale. And you can't get a refund either. Today the manager called me a liar for trying and I had a receipt. I have been screamed at, cussed at, and humiliated for the last time in this miserable store. Buyer beware.

Basically, this Vons is one of the few supermarkets in the DHS community. It's, like most things in DHS, kind of shoddy, shopworn, and overrun with a parking lot full of sketchy people. Compared to its counterparts in Cathedral City, West Hollywood, or Marina del Rey, it's a $.99 flipflop on a Birkenstock display shelf. Nonetheless, it's convenient for me, it has a self-check setup (a post-COVID must-have), and I make it my mission to jet in and out of there as quickly as humanly possible. One thing it isn't, however, is well-managed. Take this evening, for instance: 7:06pm on 4/6/24. I had visited the store about an hour earlier, and purchased several frozen items that were all on sale. Unfortunately, when I got home, I realized two of them did not scan at the sale price. Per my experience, items of all sorts don't ring up at the correct price about 35% of the time I shop at this store. This, of course, is the result of bad managerial oversight and poor training--it isn't rocket science to update a chain store's computer system to match advertised prices for a specific range of dates. I decided to make a second trip to the store anyway to buy a few more items and report the errors on my sales receipt. Instead of extending an apology, the woman manager I dealt with exhibited an overly curt attitude, failed to refund the amount due ($3.87) to my credit card successfully, and instead handed me cash, including $.87 worth of filthy coins that apparently emerged from the ass end of a goat. "It's only three dollars, anyway," she sniped. Yeah, well--it was enough to buy you this scathing Yelp review. Do better, sketchy Vons.

The only complaint I have is the baggers do not know how to bag groceries correctly. Even when we place the food how it should be bagged they still throw whatever with whatever. My eggs were under juices and cans and my produce is almost always really bruised from just being thrown is whatever bag. Its really frustrating to get avocados when they are so expensive and they are bruised and mashed before I can even get them out the store
