“Once again, Encinitas Foreign and Domestic Auto Repair to the rescue! My old car intermittently would not start, not the battery, as all the lights came on very easily and usually after 10 or 15 minutes it would suddenly start up again and run fine. One of the times this happened was in an underground parking garage, with a very low roof that was not only claustrophobia inducing but also made me worry how a tow truck was ever going to get in to tow my car if needed. Fortunately it started up again. Despite being short-staffed and very busy, Jonathan and the crew took my car in and had it for several days before the problem occurred again for them. Within a day and a half parts were ordered and the car was once again running well, with the fear of being stranded somewhere challenging and or late at night gone, a huge weight off my mind!
I can't thank Jonathan, Carlos and the mechanics enough for above and beyond Service as usual. This is an honest and excellent business and I highly recommend them.”

“Performance was recommended by a close friend. My wife has an old Camry that had been into another “Toyota only” shop. Well we brought it in multiple times for check engine light and asked for a once over as my wife though her brakes were going and they said no next time.Well when the the check engine light came on again we decided to take it to performance Auto. Our friends recommended shop. 1) the properly tested and found two smog related things we needed and said one forsure and other eventual(no upsell). We did not mention the brakes. But as a good inspection should they said they needed replacing.We picked up the car tonight and my wife says it drives better and 100% notices the brakes performance. No more grinding.We are super pleased and I will bring my car there and my daughter’s who unfortunately went to the other shop and she still has issue. We are so lucky we found them. “I've been taking my cars to Coastal Foreign Auto for well over a decade. I live in Valley Center and I drive 45 minutes to get my cars to Coastal Foreign because I can trust Chris and Peter. They do outstanding work, at a fair price, and they don't pressure me to do additional work that isn't immediately needed. They will let me know if they find any other problems with the car and whether or not they need immediate attention or can safely wait until a future date. My brakes were in need of replacement. My mechanic Dave had moved to this shop and although it’s a bit more of a drive I followed. What a pleasant surprise from the last place. I got an appointment within 2 days first thing in the morning. The repairs were gone quickly and I was on my way home within less than two hours. Dave is the best! Todd is welcoming and pleasant. I never felt rushed or that I was just another customer. If you need to wait as I did. There is a picnic table in the back by the river. The view is beautiful and perfect as my office for a little while. My car is perfect and the price was very reasonable. Give them a try I think you will be very happy you did!”
