Let me tell you, this group of phlebotomists knows what they are doing, they are professional, very friendly and do their best to make you comfortable and relaxed. I definitely recommend this lab!!

I don't understand the low ratings. I have occasionally gotten a less than stellar needle stick, but the vast majority of my blood draws have been painless, friendly experiences. It helps to reserve an appointment, but even when I walk in the wait is usually only 10 or 15 minutes. Everyone tries hard to do a great job and they usually succeed.

AVOID THIS LAB. Malpractice runs thick at this facility. I came in two days ago to get a hematology work up. I asked the tech to be extra careful when injecting me because I have small veins that can easily be pierced through. She said of course then proceeded to pierce my vein. I have a huge bruise and a red blood bubble now. I chalked it up to bad luck and went on my way. I can take some casual incompetency from the techs, fine. The test was processed and I got my results at 6 am this morning. This is where the main problem begins. Today (10am) I traveled from San Francisco to Sutter Davis Lab for a pre-operation sars (covid) antibody blood test for a procedure i'm having next week due to a GI BLEED. Upon arrival, I fill out the form they slapped in front of my face while in the middle of their personal (nonsensical) conversation. But who cares about a little chatter about how awful their day is going when you've got potentially serious health issues at hand. Not me. The form asks for basic information (name, insurance) and the ordering physician for the labs. After 10 minutes I'm taken back, this time the new tech does a better job at drawing the blood and I leave. I then get a call from my doctors office warning me that I have yet to complete the lab and that my procedure can not take place if I don't take that lab. Confused I tell the MA I literally just left the facility. My doctors office calls the lab, the lab tells them the blood they drew was for the hematology doctor for a work up. THIS IS THE TEST WAS ALREADY SENT AND COMPLETED days ago. THEY RAN A OLD TEST OVER AGAIN AND NEGLECTED THE ONE I NEED FOR SURGERY. They redid a test unnecessarily and did not run the pre-op test. I came back to the lab to ask what went wrong. They first blamed it on my doctors office, then I asked them if they even read the preliminary form they make you sign because the ordering physician is CLEARLY written on there. There is no possible way they could've screwed up this bad without blatant overt incompetency to blame. I had to get my blood drawn AGAIN from the same vein they poked me in before, and this time IT HURT (i previously had a blood clot there). But pain is not the concern. The concern is getting all of this blood drawn from me (due to their ignorance) when i'm already losing it due to my gi bleed. Sutter Davis, you NEED to hold your phlebotomists, especially the ones I dealt with today, at as high of a standard as any other medical personnel, and hold them accountable when they don't meet that. Our bodies are not a joke and are not disposable. We go home with the added pain, not them. This lab is a joke. You're better off driving to Sac or Roseville for blood work, TRUST ME. DO NOT BLOW OFF THESE REVIEWS. TAKE THESE WARNINGS SERIOUSLY.

This is my least favorite thing to do. I have had a Good Experience every time I have had my Blood Drawn. Just left there and I did not even feel it. They are Wonderful, thank you. ☀️

I always have a good experience at this lab. I have deep veins and my blood is hard to draw but so far these guys always get it on the first try. I'll let you know if that changes..And btw, if you go on Saturday you won't have to wait very long. Just keep that between you and me.

The male phlebotomist (Vargas?) was very polite and he got my vein on the first try without any pain or bruising. Highly recommend!

The phlebotomist Annette is inept in drawing blood. We have to bring our child in every 3 months for blood draws and every time we get unlucky and Annette ends up serving us. For the last 4 tries she's never been able to successfully draw blood and after about 2 tries, moving the needle underneath the skin and bruising the tissue, she fineally diverts to the other employee who is able to do the job. If no one is there we have to come back on a different day. Also, every time she fails to draw blood she blames our kid for not drinking enough water or using lidocaine/prilocaine, and she says restricts the blood flow, which is false. When asked if we can have someone who is good with small pediatric blood draws, she says we are all good at it, which is also a lie.

They couldn't draw my blood for an outside lab after they assured both myself and my doctor that they could over the phone. Staff seems generally unintelligent and completely ignorant to the lab's policies.

Ever getting another lab here again. Customer service is rude, and I asked how long my wait would be and they said "just a second." 20 minutes later I finally got my blood drawn. I've had hundreds of needles poked into me my entire life and this by far hurt the worst. I was really in genuine pain and this is coming from someone who endured a 22 hour labor with no pain medication.

I've had blood drawn in the past at two different places before this, and went with family members to get their blood drawn. Every time has involved a long wait, cranky employees, multiple pokes to find a vein (I've never done intravenous drugs, I guess my veins are just harder to find, maybe?), pain and bruising. I encountered none of that here. The wait to be seen was maybe two minutes, the phlebotomist was very kind and he asked me how my day was (definitely a first!), got my vein on the first try, I barely flinched from the pain and had absolutely no bruising. Nobody likes having to get blood drawn, but if you have to do it, I would definitely suggest going here.
