I lived at Cascade a few years ago and was my first apartment upon moving to Davis. I really liked that it was a smaller complex. The fact that it was smaller, it feels more like home not like the larger complexes I've lived in. The manager lives on site so it's really convenient to find her when I needed help with maintenance. The manager took care of most of the maintenance herself (Wow!) and if it was something that she couldn't take care of, the maintenance staff would come by shortly to finish the job. There's a laundry room on site which is nice because its such a drag to pack your clothes in the car and go somewhere else to get them washed. There was always a machine open when I used the laundry room too. The location is great. It only took me about 10 mins to get to campus by bike and less to get Downtown. The bus lines are super close (walking distance) and the shopping center is literally right around the corner (also walking distance). I miss having a grocery store so close to home. The DMV and post office are right down the street. The Nugget shopping center is located North on Pole Line and Safeway shopping center is South on Pole Line. This location is literally surrounded by shopping centers! It's great! I lived in an upstairs 2 bedroom apartment with a balcony in one room. The apartment itself were spacious. I greatly appreciated the central heating and air which is hard to come by in Davis. I lived with my boyfriend and one other roommate and had room for privacy for everyone. The neighborhood is quiet and my neighbors were great. It is a pet-friendly complex and was always greeted with a friendly hello from my furry neighbors and their pets (Sorry, I couldn't resist! lol) The dog park is close by from Cascade which is nice if you want to take your dog to see their friends. Overall, I enjoyed living here and it really did feel like my home away from home. I would highly recommend Cascade to anyone who is looking for a spacious, quiet, comfortable apartment with a great location.
