I never thought I would give a USPS location a high rating, 'til I came to this one. They're so friendly and helpful. I was trying to mail a couple of packages and surprised by the cost going to the other coast. I didn't even say anything but the lady there was so nice asked what it was and offered me cheaper mailing options. She even gave me the supplies to repack my packages. And I saw them even offer tape to help someone seal their package better. Can I just say Wow, that's so nice! Usually you get someone very moody behind the counter at other locations that would tell you to buy your own tape. This location is a USPS gem.

It's clean and fairly quick. I like that it has Passport place to apply as I have done

Just went in here the older guy refused to tape my label on my package for me or let me use the tape... I offered to purchase the tape but do not have a card I use Apple Pay.. this is crazy what has this world come too. Can't even be nice enough to allow someone to tape their own package. Terrible service. Waste of time. Someone should tell this guy how to be a decent human being straight j***

It's certainly in a convenient location, but there's no automated postage machine, so you can't print your own labels. Also the mail dropoff isn't big enough to accept packages. I'm not sure why they artificially restrict it. All the other post offices in this area provide a box big enough to insert packages.

Best post office branch! Hands down. In every way. Efficient, courteous, friendly. Never waiting too long (before Christmas is an exception and even then it's not too bad).

I'm amazed that people have given less than five stars for this post office. I've lived in Danville all my life and I've always used this USPS spot for any mail purposes. I've always gotten the best service. Also, to the posts that are "livid" that they were turned away after closing time, what did you expect? If you're late, you're late. Systems turn off, you have to understand that.

My favorite post office hands-down! After dealing with missing packages several times at the post office and San Ramon, this establishment is a diamond in the ruff, the prized post office I need for getting my packages to my customers! The employees are friendly and respectful. I always love going in and seeing them, and after a few experiences they already know my name! They treat your packages with care, and even if there may be long lines they treat every customer with respect. They may be closed on Saturday and close earlier than other post offices by 30 minutes, but I feel these are minor nitpicks. My only complaint is that the parking lot can be a little hectic at times, but I think it's worth it, since the reward is satisfying.

This is my "go to" post office even though the one on Camino Tassajara is 10 minutes closer. The staff is knowledgeable and efficient and the lines move swiftly. Very reliable with the supplies as well.

Surprising nice experience! The gentleman named David was super helpful and friendly and (unlike most others working at post offices) didn't look like he hated his job. Plus, ample parking and trader Joe's nearby if you remember needing something.

I hate standing in line. Luckily I got a good book at Rakestraw to pass the time.

Every negative review is likely from privileged residents of the Danville Community. As someone who has moved frequently, lived in different socio economic climates and in different 'class' neighborhoods, I can honestly say-- this is by far the best post office in terms of customer service I have ever been to. I drop off mail and do certified mail here nearly every day for business purposes, and every day the staff is friendly, cheerful, attentive, and SO kind! It is a joy to do business here. This is a great, one of a kind group of people. I've been to post offices where the staff was uncommunicative, unhelpful, and uninterested. These places made it uncomfortable for me to even want to post packages. Danville Community-- you have no idea how good you have it. Keep up the hard work and the wonderful attitudes employees! You make my day each day, and of that, I am so appreciative!

Conventionally located in the Danville Square Shopping Center with Trader Joe's and Starbucks. There is usually hardly any line to wait for service. But the retail service hours closes at 4:30 pm, instead of 5:00 pm during the week. It's not open for retail service on Saturday or Sunday. You have to drive out to the Camino Tassajara location. The lobby is conveniently opened 24 hours/day, 7 days a week if you need drop mail, use the self-service mail kiosk or go to your rented PO Box. Finding parking in the lot can be tough during the weekday and Saturdays because of Trader Joe's.
