3 Railroad Ave, Danville“Great place to get your hands on the latest books. For the readers, it's an amazing place to hang out and get lost in exploring all those interesting reads. The staff is very friendly and helpful too. Kids have a large collection of books and toys to explore, and the reading corner for them is fun where there are story times arranged. My kids have a great time coming in here.
Different genres, toys, collectibles, stationery, and more. There's also a Starbucks inside with really good baristas.
After shopping at Barnes and noble, the joint out has a lot of eating spots and the movie theaters too. A fun place to hang out. Definitely recommend!!”
“super cool shop, good selection of records packed in a small place. Reminds me of Rainbow Records in WC when I was a kid. I'd buy a skateboard from them but would end up with a hip fracture at my age.”
“This is a smaller Barnes and Noble but they still manage to have a decent selection. You most likely won't find books that aren't as mainstream or popular but they always have new releases and events. The staff is friendly, helpful, and the store is clean.”

3645 Mount Diablo Blvd Suite C, Lafayette“A really fantastic local bookstore offering a selection of new and used books. It's not huge, but the range is impressive and eclectic. The owner is thoughtful and friendly. An excellent Lafayette resource.”
“A ksrge used book store with books, dvds, comic books and other perephanelia. The selection is large, but limited, and it is difficult to find things, but other than that an enjoyable experience for book lovers.”
11AM - 5PM
955 Contra Costa Blvd, Pleasant Hill“They have an eclectic collection of books, movies and music DVDs. Apparently, these are donations that didn't make it to the library shelves. Prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly. I actually like this place better than the Pleasant Hill library which has tried to become too many things. If you are a nerdy bibliophile that likes older reading material, try this bookstore.”
“Outstanding fine & rare bookseller. Books are meticulously and accurately described and Laurelle Swan's inventory is notable for the fine condition of her books. Books are, for the most part, fairly priced in the middle of the typical range from comparable booksellers. Customer service is exceptional - Laurelle will remember your requests, diligently hunt for difficult to find private press books and promptly notify you if she can successfully acquire a copy. Swan's Fine Books is a valuable resource for serious collectors.”
“I absolutely love this place. I'm confused by the reviews saying the prices are high, and this is by far the cheapest used bookstore around. The selection may not be as extensive as some of the bigger stores, but I always manage to find something interesting when I'm there. The staff is incredibly sweet as well.”
“I came here for the squish-mellows and slime for Christmas presents but found these cool trays for eating/crafts. Upon check-out the clerk (her name was Paige), asked me if I wanted to customize the trays. Whaaatt? Yes please!I appreciate Paige suggesting this as I had no idea this was offered. Not only do the trays lookawesome, but how wonderful that Paige offered to do this, even though it was 5-minutes to closing. To the owner of the store, Paige and the other person working stayed an additional 15-'minutes, and did it with a smile on their faces. Im coming back this week to customize more items for the children in my family. This is going to make Christmas gifts easy and special. Very good pricing for slime $15.99 and many squish-mellows half off.”
“This magical local book store hosted a meet and greet with Andy Griffiths last night. I decided to bring my boys to the event and I'm so glad that I did. They were thoroughly entertained and left inspired to read more. We left the bookstore and by the time we got into the car, they were asking me to bring them to the next children's event.”
