Dr. Nick, Rylan, and the staff at Blackhawk Vet are amazing. We've been taking our three sweet kitties there for 2.5 years. Every interaction is shown w/care. January 2, our 15-year old ragdoll, Tiffy was very sick with renal disease. Dr. Nick and Rylan walked us through procedures that we could care for her at home. Dr. Nick is very kind, yet straight-forward which is exactly what we wanted/needed. Our Tiffany passed a week later with sweetness and dignity. We will always love her so much. They checked-in with us and even offered to come in on a Sunday if we needed help. After her passing, they sent a beautiful white rosebud and vase and as well as a card that the whole office signed. We are thankful to Blackhawk Vet for the care that they provided us during this very sorrowful time. We will continue to go to Blackhawk Vet with our other two fur babies because of the knowledge and care they have provided our family . Our sincerest gratitude, Emma Greenhalgh

Dr Nick is a caring vet. He takes time to explain everything and has a love for his job. We lose our Golden, Cooper last DEC at age 11 & 9 months. We switched to BH VET after feeling like our other vet didn't even know ir name after 8 years of being with them. Dr Nick is knowable, doesn't waist your time or money. Cooper has spleen cancer and within 1 visits he nailed the diagnosis. His office checked on us during Coopers last month of life. We got a new puppy right after names Koda & Dr Nick has been wonderful with him. Like anything in life, you get what you pay foe. I see comments he's too $$, but your getting top notch vet care and expertise. And if you don't want high puppy bills, get pet insurance the first year and just be smart and don't complain about your VET. Thanks Dr Nick for running a great vet practice.

The entire staff are very caring with all their patients but really go above and beyond for dogs & cats. Dr. Nick and Dr. Jones has a true and genuine love of animals, doctors has and will often go above and beyond the call of duty. Hands down "SUPER BEST Veterinarian EVER and doctors training skills are impeccable.!"DOCTORS are amazing with animals. They are truly care about the animals and their owners. Highly recommend!!

Updated Review 2023:It's been 8 years, I've rescued 3 pets and I've moved out of the state and back again, and I am still reliant upon Dr. Nick and his expertise. He is still, hands down, the best vet around. He is knowledgeable, professional and cares deeply about his patients. The best part is he is transparent about diagnosis, the methods of correction and what is actually needed to help your baby - he runs his practice on honesty and true care. I will always be a repeat patient of Dr. Nick, and I have the utmost trust in him to care for my girl like she was his own. This is a peace of mind that is absolutely priceless and I could not be more grateful for it.Review 2015:Dr. Nick is THE BEST vet EVER! He got on the floor and sat with my rescue dog, talked TO her (not ABOUT her) and helped me to understand everything going on with my new baby. I was blown away at his professionalism and yet very friendly and caring manner. I don't have enough words to describe how great BlackHawk Vet and the staff is. I highly recommend to all!

Horrible Dr. Doesn’t care about your animals. All they care about is profit. Sad sad sad. Should have listened to all the bad reviews (Yelp). If you love your pets save your money and go elsewhere.

UPDATE TO THE OWNERS RESPONSE: I am dumbfounded at this extremely bizarre reply. We have no idea who Lainey Boyd is nor Zen the cat. Although we will surely not be returning to your office my husband will call on Monday to clarify who we are and who our dog is as you have our records in your system. This kind of behavior will just drive your already declining business deeper into the ground. I sure am glad we have made the decision to leave your clinic. You seem quite erratic and irresponsible. Perhaps you should spend more time with the animals under your care rather than commenting rubbish under every bad review you receive on Yelp. All the best

As our dog gets older I am so grateful to have Dr Nick and his extraordinary staff to help us keep our fur baby healthy and going strong. The dedication and care of everyone there is beyond apparent, we have complete trust in them to provide the best care for our sweet doggie.

We came here for our new puppies shots, each visit (2) was $250 totaling $500. The third round of shots we decided to shop around because this didn't seem right. Got quoted at 2 other vets for $45 per visit for shots $30 for shots $15 for the visit. I am very upset we spent all this money when it was uncalled for .... $70 just for them to give him the shots each time. Plus additional add ons that were given as if it was included. Very expensive vet! Our fault for not asking prices but believed we weren't going to get ripped off.
