OK so this review is long overdue even though my son has only been attending the school for a few months. So we moved from a close by school that was amazing. We loved being there. We loved the staff; they were so friendly and so kind and we really appreciate them and everything they did for my son. The only reason we looked into switching was because we felt like he's getting bored. We really saw that. He has so much more potential only if the curriculum or the school goes after what he is very good at. Now it has only been a few months, but I cannot even find the words to tell you how much improvement I see in my son. The school focuses on academics but also emotional and social growth so much that it is unbelievable The amount of hi's, goodbyes, calling everybody by their names, and just any social growth that you would not just expect but you would dream of your child having, they have put it in him already. And the way they go about is so amazing that I don't even have to ask him to do those anymore. Now moving on to academics and sciences and art - so my son was always very interested in animals and science and things like that. We read all sorts of books like that at home, and I know he was already advanced for his age. However, ever since we have moved to the school, it has been taken to next level. The school is ran by two fabulous women who care, who are very passionate, who love children, and who are on top of everything. And I mean everything. Their communication, the way they keep you involved, yet make sure their policies and rules and children's independence stays intact is beyond amazing. Also they have done a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful job picking out the most caring, passionate, informative, kind, and responsible teachers you can ever find. You can tell how happy the teachers are and how much they love what they do. I can honestly go on and on and on bragging about this school and everything about it. So anything you could possibly ever ask ,want, or need in every school they've got it all and more. Thank you for taking care of our little ones so well and for preparing them for what's to come. We truly love and appreciate you all.

We had a very good experience with Blackhawk Montessori. Both directors Naveeda and Naureen are very involved with the school. We had an equally amazing teacher in Ms. Tina and Ms. Tanu. We felt that our son learned quite a lot during his stay at Blackhawk. Unfortunately we had to take him out due to logistics. We were really sad to pull him out. The additional yoga lessons, music and language lessons are something we really miss now. We didn't have to take him to any additional classes outside school time because of that. Our toddler did really well and was happy to be at school.

My kids spent two wonderful years at this school, and I couldn't speak more highly of it. The teachers are all caring, wonderful people, and the school is very well run on the administrative side. For those of you who need more flexibility in your schedule, the hours available for childcare are beyond what I've seen in most other schools. My kids made great friends here, and I know they'll miss the place.

Both of my kids went through Blackhawk Montessori so we spent around 6 years with this school, and we have nothing but great things to say about the whole school. They are not only focused on education but also on the overall growth of a child. From the directors to all the teachers and support staff, they all work cohesively to ensure that your toddler is well taken care of. They will not hesitate to take feedback from parents, and if parents make valid suggestions, they won't shy away from implementing them. Frankly As parents, we have learned tons of things from this school. Both my kids thrived at BHM, and the complete credit for it goes to the school.We were in the same Montessori before and after Covid, and I am amazed at how well the whole setup was transferred for the well-being of kids, parents, and teachers, as we all did our part as a community. This was one of the few places where I felt safe sending my kids during tough times, and all credit goes to the directors.My older child was in Ms. Naveeda's class, and we were disappointed to learn that she would be taking up more school administrative responsibilities, hence wouldn't be able to teach. However, all the other teachers, Ms. Rahana, Ms. Manisha, Ms. Adeela, and Ms. Shirley, filled the gap very well. I cannot thank Ms. Naureen and Ms. Naveeda enough. They are amazing at what they do, and I appreciate how focused they are on each student, even though the school is growing. Our whole family highly recommends this Montessori to all parents who are looking for the best care for their child.

My son has been happily going to Blackhawk Montessori for over 2,5 years. Naureen, Naveeda, Ms Rahana, Ms Manisha, Ms Jaya, Ms Tiffany, and all of the teachers have greatly contributed to his tremendous growth. It truly takes a village and each member of BHM cared for each child in their own unique ways, including ours.Should there be one, we would not hestitate to send our second child here and would highly recommend all parents to come check out BHM.

I am extremely satisfied with Blackhawk Montessori, both Directors Naveeda and Naureen are very much involved in making sure quality is excellent. Teachers are very patient and always provide feedback to help me as a parent to be more involved in my daughters learning experience.

We love the staff and curriculum at BHM! We found BHM when we decided to move our 4 yr old son out of another local Montessori school that was doing a poor job. Our son immediately thrived at BHM! It was like they unlocked his potential. He was happier, more social, more active, and excelled in every area possible. I give all the credit to the staff at BHM! They are wonderful and really care for EVERY child they touch! Our son passed his kindergarten assessment with flying colors! Thank you, BHM! We will miss you.

We live in Lafayette, and it takes us 2 hours every day on the road to drop off our daughter and to pick her up. Despite the distance and the effort, we are happy with our decision to enroll our daughter at BHM. BHM has a well thought out curriculum that prepares kids well for elementary school. Ms. Naveeda and Ms. Naureen are professional, responsive and kind. The teachers are experienced and passionate about child education, and they care equally about students' characters/personalities and their skills/abilities. BHM's high quality caring and education is shone through their happy and sociable kids.Our daughter is now in her year 2 with BHM, she's developing good habits as well as getting rid of bad ones. TV and electronic gadgets are no longer her night time favorites. In their places now are books, puzzles, toys, talking, and silly games. She's learning to understand complex logics, to explain herself, to resolve conflicts, and most importantly, to care for others. We are very happy with her development so far. I highly recommend BHM to parents looking for preschool in the area.

My son and I had a fairly traumatic experience at this school. Similar to the experience of another mom on this platform, my son was also afraid to go to school and continues to have PTSD from school-like settings to this day. He is starting to heal while attending classes from another educator in San Ramon and we are slowly working him through being comfortable with teachers again. My son is 3.5 and was enrolled on and off through COVID as the numbers spiked, so he, like others his age had not been socialized as they would without the pandemic. I felt the school lacked compassion, resources, depth and knowledge to identify triggers in a small toddler and work with the parents to resolve. I did not have direct access to the teachers, everything had to funnel through the directors which made communication, trust and relationship-building extremely difficult. I had multiple breakdowns after my parent teacher conference after just 4 days of my son being enrolled. I felt a lack of compassion for pandemic kids and their parents at this school. And to be honest this experience put me off the Montessori method all together.

A wonderful authentic Montessori program for 2-6 year olds. Our 3 and 5 year old have attended BHM for almost a year now and we could not be happier.Administration:business owned by 2 women of color with decades of montessori experience between them.school is run very professionally with clear and constant communication to parents via email, monthly newsletter and photo albums for each class sent to parents of that classroom. One off situations communicated via a mobile app or a phone call if it pertains to your child directly.Instruction:All the main guides are AMS or AMI trained, and are super attentive to the children, making sure they are thriving throughout the year. My 5 year old went from only knowing capital letters from his previous non-montessori school to full on reading in 5 months under his teacher's supervision. He's currently able to solve 4 digit by 2 digit division (4350/ 15), as well as adding fractions in math. There is also a Spanish and music program that's included in the tuition.You have the option of signing up for other programs for an additional cost (like chess class and soccer).The student body is racially diverse, the parents are all very sweet and welcoming, and we feel very fortunate to be part of the BHM community.

I have had an amazing experience with this school. We enrolled by little one a couple of weeks before she turned 2 and they were so accommodating because we had just had a bad nanny experience and needed childcare quickly. Naveeda and Noreen are very professional, organized and approachable for anything you may need. Our daughter loves going to school and has had not issues. I am very glad I found this school.

As a health care provider during pandemic each day has been challenging but with the help of positive learning environment like Blackhawk Montessori my heart and mind both are at peace.

The school is absolutely amazing and taking control during COVID-19 times by making a health inspector monitor the temperatures of every child who enters school. They making sure that they have sanitized their hands while the parents are form a line outside their campus maintaining social distance. Absolutely amazing at how careful they are. My daughter comes home having learned to speak more. Her language skills have increased within such a short duration of having starry Blackhawk Montessori. I hear her speaking more to word sentences or three word sentences than she was before she entered Blackhawk Montessori. I am especially impressed by their Spanish lessons that is a part of the curriculum as well as music lessons and outdoor play and indoor activities. My daughter comes home extremely satisfied and content and it shows on her face and her body language when I pick her up every day. Thank you for your curriculum as it will transform my child into a brighter future.
