“Our team LOVED sailing aboard the Curlew. We were able to charter a private, sunset sail for our corporate retreat and it was the perfect event. She is a beautiful schooner and Captain Bob and crew were amazing - fun, helpful and professional. They taught us a bit about sailing and took care of all of our needs while on board. We are so glad we chose this sunset sail as our team outing!”

“I IQC'd for ASA214 with Ric Dahlin through a partnership with a different school in a different town. It would be so incredibly difficult to have a better experience!Firstly it was very cool of him to work with a partner school and very generous of him to travel. He seemed sincerely happy to be there and to help - just a super cool guy. We were short-handed in the class, and he didn't mind taking helm or grinding winches when I needed to run forward. This guy still loves sailing and still loves time with students, which is fanstatic!Secondly, we had an absolutely phenomenal day on the water. He set the tone and pace at the outset to be very calm and professional. We both showed up early and well-rested, which is great if you've experienced the other side of that. Zero stress, just a great day sailing with some hands-on skills and a written exam at the end.It's also cool that they are a charter base, and so close to Catalina. If I am ever around the Dana Point area again, I'll for sure make a stop at Aventura.”

“A beautiful yacht club that seems likes it's stood the test of time. You have a great view of the ocean here and membership is required to be able to use the facilities. The club and its facilities itself is a 5 star. No question as the decor and the feeling you get inside is spectacular. Their restaurant has a great view upstairs on the second story and they are very dog friendly which is amazing. Their menu is very simple and straight forward and they mostly have a mix of Mexican, American and Italian food. I had ordered their burger with a mix of onion rings and regular fries, the hummus and their flat bread with fig and burrata. They also have a selection of drinks and a daily drink specials. As far as the taste of the food... the burger was just good, it didn't leave a good or a bad impression, but the hummus had very little flavor and tasted very bland. The fig and burrata flat bread had more of a fig drizzle instead of actual figs and the flatbread had the texture of a cardboard. Now the food from what I have tasted was 2 stars. But again the place is so beautiful you won't care what you eat. I was invited here by a member and it's a great place to hang out and enjoy the view.”

“Overall we had a really good experience at this Ritz Carlton. The service is excellent and every single staff member is pleasant and helpful. We were there during the President’s Day long weekend and it was incredible busy. The hotel grounds are super nice and the gym has the best view (Pacific Ocean) hands down of any I’ve been at. Wonderful meals at Raya and Kahani under separate reviews. Easy access to beach via short (steep) walk or using beach shuttle. Room is a little small and ‘coastal’ view is not much of one. Valet gets very crowded and is pretty expensive.”

“Updated review as we stayed yet again over the weekend. You get what you pay for. You're right on the harbor and that is great. Everything else is just ok. Service at the front is hit and miss. Check in declined to let us know that iPhone magnets kill the card keys. Would have been a point to bring up before we went all the way to the third floor just to find out our keys were demagnetized. lived with that. I'm sad to see this may soon be gone.. Sadly.
