I would skip the food it's pretty low quality. Drinks and bar service are good as well as the valet & front desk.

Like the recent changes and revamp to the lobby with the added bar and seating areas. Very inviting and has a good vibe when you walk in. Reservationiat are nice and smiling. Some changes made to the rooms, and ours smelled as if it had been freshly painted. Perfect location for us as we are there for work. We have stayed there several times, always have had a great view but not all rooms will have one.

We had a fairly negative experience at this hotel. They oddly play music at all hours near the elevators that is extremely loud.
Our room was situated right next to the elevator so we could hear the music BLASTING at all hours of the night and morning. We tried to speak to the front desk and they claimed they had no control over it. I hope you guys just cut the music completely - what is it adding other than disrupting your guests? Additionally, we had to make two reservations because we ended up needing to stay an extra night. The front desk was aware and was able to keep us in our room. However, housekeeping came to our room 3 times trying to tell us we needed to check out and disrupting us while we tried to get ready for a wedding. Clearly the communication between staff and housekeeping was very minimal. I most definitely would not stay at this hotel ever again.

Pablo, Ryan, and Sina are amazing!! They’ve taken care of our wedding party like no other. Literally made the night. Your next rehearsal dinner should be here!!

They only clean rooms every other day, and even though we are checked in for 3 days housekeeping won't come by due to "policy". Our AC stopped working and they just said "oh, ill call maintenence, I dont know how long they will be" getting in and out of the hotel is a pain due to how the roads work and the water in the showers were cold. Love being close to the beach, but this was overall a negative experience and I wont be coming back.

BLACK MOLD !!! Worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my life. Claims to have just remodeled, but they seem to have only applied a bandaid i.e. fresh paint , new wall paper over an old mold problem. See pics. This is the mold spot that appeared above the bed in the room we were staying in ! You could literally feel & see the mold spores trying to burst through the newly hung wall paper. Mgmt refused to acknowledge that a problem exists, yet if u read older reviews, mold is mentioned several times by previous guests. The front desk personnel are totally inexperienced to handle anything outside of checking guests in and presenting final bill. When we finally got to speak to the front desk Mgr, Rafael, we were offered no consolation of any sort for having to change rooms at 3 am - once we spotted the mold above our beds. We originally had booked a 2 day stay, but cut our trip short and got out of there in the morning. Even though we have been long standing Diamond Club members, neither the staff or management treated us with any dignity. Our ghastly stay was over 2 months ago. Rafael promised to phone us back re our terrible experience- to date- we have never heard back from anyone. Despite numerous messages that we have left for him, both in person and with his staff- we continue to be ignored. The health department definitely needs to investigate this place. Furthermore, one would expect Hilton to at least follow up regarding all of the negative reviews before a class action suit ensues.
Rooms: BLACK MOLD
Nearby activities: Very unsafe area to be walking at night. Oncoming traffic/no sidewalks surround the premises.

I own a wedding catering company and restaurant and recently had the chance to work with Lauren and Sabrina on a wedding catering at the hotel. They are both very accessible and easy to communicate with for any matter.
The hotel has a perfect location with stunning beach views and is recently renovated with new carpeted floors and bright colors. It is very clean and the entire staff is very friendly and helpful. They have great rooms to book for wedding parties and the sunset deck offers amazing views. Definitely book this hotel for your next visit or next event.

Decent hotel. The room was clean and spacey but you can tell it's a little on the older side. Hallways had bit of a weird smell at least on the floor I was on. Located across from the local beach. Had a nice time overall. I'd recommend as an affordable quick getaway but keep your expectations realistic.

You can change the name but it won't change the fact that this place is a dump! Look up yelp reviews for DoubleTree Hilton Dana Point smh. A mess! It needs to be closed down for good. Or remove Hilton name off of it because it's ruining the reputation!

Rooms were great but got locked out of our room at 3am. They couldn’t get it open so had to stay in another room which kind of sucked. They opened it the next day when we had to leave thankfully!

Just the worst experience I’ve ever had with a hotel. I called to reserve a room for the weekend for Friday Saturday & Sunday. She first quoted $370 a night and then gave me every number from $179-$400 when I told her it said $184 online. She kept trying to sell me on this “Hilton rewards” club which turned out to be a way to upsell me on one of their timeshares. It took me over an hour just to book a room for the current night! Finally I’m firmly at “just give me this one night for Gods sake. I just need somewhere to sleep. I’ll reserve Saturday and Sunday when I get there”. So, I book the one night, I get a confirmation number and I’m off to the Hilton.
I arrive 20 minutes later & there’s no reservation for me. The (very kind) young lady finally finds my reservation & it’s for Sunday only. What? I explained the ridiculous debacle on the phone and tell her I need all 3 nights. She adjusts my stay and gets me in the room and finally I can rest believing I’m all set.
So 10 am the next morning, I’m resting & housekeeping is beating on the door (check out is 11 but I’m not checking out). I call the front desk & they tell me that I’m only reserved for Friday night & they had many last minute reservations come in so I’m out. My husband and I went around & around with them for over an hour & they finally offer me a room under construction with no air for a reduced rate.
Not a €£%^¥ chance.
In closing, my few hours in this nightmare of a hotel was not the peaceful refuge you would expect in an expensive hotel. It was extremely noisy. There’s a huge gap under the door and you can see & hear literally EVERYTHING done & said in the hall. Also, there’s no safety bolt on the door. Just a cheap chain that my 60 yo self could easily kick in. The carpet is old as dirt and smells …well…old. I have stayed in many hotels all over the US and this was the one & only time I’ve ever had a problem and my God, what a nightmare it was. Never again.

The hotel is located closely to the beach. The best part was the service at the Long Beach Lounge. Sina took great care of us. Great service and great drinks. Would definitely come again for the service at the lounge with Sina.

I have stayed in about 15 Garden Inns/Doubletrees and this was most likely the Worst. I do not recommend staying here.
Issues
1.) I was charged $80 for parking, when I didn't even have a car. I used Uber and my brother picked me up. I called and voiced my concerns to Deepthi. She confirmed that I was incorrectly charged and said she would talk to Rafael, then call me and refund my money within 48 hours. I never got a refund and never received a call back.
2.) Kids were disappointed as the pool was completely closed the entire time we were there. Who on earth has a pool closed during summer? There was no notification about this.
3.) Construction was everywhere, not far away, but very close. We had a wedding and the kids couldn't sleep as there loud drills and other having equipment over the entire weekend. There was no notification about this.
4.) Room was OK, bathroom was very small.
Noteworthy details: Dishonest staff.

Sina at the Longboard Rooftop Lounge is the best! He makes the best drinks and has the best service!
