Expired food on shelves. All the employees hate working here and the hate the manager. Skip the deli. Ambika will just say turkey doesn't exist because she doesn't feel like working. Deli employees prioritize standing around gossiping and texting. Waited 38 minutes because the staff wanted to stand around doing nothing. Ambika seems to hate taking deli orders. Pointed to a sandwich on their menu and she said it didn't exist. Eventually put JUST turkey and mayo into 1/4 of a bread roll after she was done texting and the line got really long. There were 3 other people standing around doing nothing at the deli. 38 minutes later Ambika claims the sandwiches posted on their sign don't exist. I asked the other guy standing there and he told me to wait! After 38 minutes! Wait? while he was texting on his phone using the same gloves he's touching his hair, face, clothes and all the food with. Spoke to the manager and her solution was just to tell me to go back in line or buy an expired sandwich they have on shelves. The manager is really as bad as everyone says. I knew I should've left instead of waiting for her when the cashiers said she was useless and lazy. This is the worse Safeway in the Bay Area. All the yogurt parfaits at the entrance were expired. Their packaged microwave plates aren't sealed like other Safeway locations. Most of the ready made sandwiches were expired also. Left with nothing after waiting more than 45 minutes. The manager was trying to hard sell me one of their expired sandwiches that are packaged since she knows they're all past their sell by date. The most disgusting people work here.

As a Safeway app and rewards member I typical go here for the convenience and whatever specials are advertised. Located at Westlake mall, this location has ample parking space. Typical to most chain supermarkets, the customer service can be hit or miss. If you can find them. But when you do, for the most part they'll help you the best they can. And the staff do their best for restocking items and keeping the place well maintained. In terms of pricing, it's better to get the rewards card since you'll save a noticeable amount over the non-member prices.

This is my weekly neighborhood grocery store. I stop here every week, but I have not gone into the store in over 3 years. I exclusively use Drive Up & Go, I order online and the staff brings it to my car. It's doesn't get easier than that unless it's delivered The staff is alway very nice and friendly.

Last time i shop at this store.I dont know if theft is a problem here but thats not my problem, thats the stores' and the countys' problem for not improving their social structure to prevent theft, rather than just using sheer brute force like they so childlishly know how to.Ive been shopping here for 3 years and i bring a duffle bag so that i dont use the plastic bags and I'm always being followed even though i have been shopping here for 3 years but also they change security guards like every other week so theres no way for the security guards to effectively establish a relationship with the community.I dont even feel the same intensity from security when i enter a bank. I just come to shop and smile and that's it. If the securitys intensity that is encouraged by the stores management to be so direct and demeaning then thank goodness for competition as I will instead look for another store where i can feel calm and comfortable while shopping and not pressured and uncomfortable.

I recently dropped by after work to get the asian food combo at the deli, but I saw that it was being cleaned up so typically I would leave the store. I'm not sure when this was implemented, but the barricading around the exits of the store made it feel like I was sorta forced to buy something to leave without being stopped by security.I get that this was definitely set up to curb shoplifting, except it made what was supposed to be a quick drop in to see if there was anything worth while to buy at the deli or not into a stressful dilemma since I didn't plan to buy anything else but the asian food combo at the deli. Maybe if there was a way to know what was still available at the deli without being stopped at the barricading, or when the deli closes up.I ended up buying a premade meal and left the store. Unless something changes to not make a simple deli visit feel like being trapped in the store, I don't think I'll be making any future quick trips to this store.

Gf just came home super upset after she was berated in line by a cashier. I dont remember her name but it was an Asian lady. My gf was scolded about buying too much of this corn on sale and that there was a limit. She told the woman that there was no sign out saying this and instead of fixing the problem the cashier proceeded to go on about how its right there in the app. News Flash..... not everyone is looking at the app while they are shopping. Cant believe this woman works face to face with people when she acts like this.

Was overcharged today for soda. Coke products were buy 2, get 3 free. My receipt shows 3 being discounted as free, but I was also charged for 3, as shown on the receipt for $29.97 (regular price $9.99/each.) I only had 5 12-pks in my cart, told the cashier she scanned 4 regular coke zeros, when I only had 3. The cashier responded by scribbling on my receipt, speaking quickly telling me I was wrong. Receipt reflects me paying for 3 and getting 3 free, yet I only walked out of the store with 5 12-pks. Cashier didn’t seem to want to discuss it anymore, as she was busy, so I just left because I wanted to get out of that store.

I literally drive to this Safeway all the way from the Dog patch/ Bayview are of SF to be able to shop like a person should be able to. The only thing is there is always one person asking for something outside and I feel awful if I don't give them money or food. Other than that I love this local

Great Safeway store to get all my grocery needs always freshly stocked. Make sure to use your Safeway card and Safeway app before going to check out if you want discounts and always check your receipt that you got your discounts

Westlake Safeway is a convenient location to get your groceries. The bakery offers a decent selection of baked beads, bagels, cakes and pastries. The meat and fish section is basic and the freshness of the produce is questionable. Note that certain products like alcoholic beverages, medicines, toiletry products etc are locked behind cases, so you need an employee to open this for you if you need an item. This can be inconvenient, though the system is in place to deter shoplifting. Safeway offers free membership so be sure to take advantage of this to get discounts.

I went to Western Union inside this Safeway store to get the money that was sent to me by a family. The lady who was working there asked me what was the question that the sender had put in the system for security purposes. Of course, I didn’t know what is it coz all i know is I’m only suppose to answer the question. I have to asked the lady what the question is so I could answer it. However, she refused to tell me and said that I should already know it. It was so stupid! So I have to call my sister-in-law to ask what was the question for security purposes. Even my sister-in-law was wondering why I have to know the question and not just answer what the security question is. I was so upset because I had already shown her my ID and given her the MTCN claim number. If she need me to answer a security question, she should ask me for the answer of the security question and not asking me what the question is all about as if I’m the person working there and she’s the customer. And hello, i’m only claiming $1400 in total! I think the staff should be trained to help customers better.

Of all the Safeway stores I go to, this one is the best. Not as amazing as the Marina Safeway, but a million times better than both Mission stores, the Diamond Heights store and the charming Monterey store. Why? Because it is well-stocked and has a superior bakery and deli section. The service is higher quality, too. The Potrero and the Market Street stores have always been at the high end of my list but recently, the Daly City store wins hands down. Unless, of course, you are lucky enough to live in the Marina. I don't mean to leave out the Webster store, that one was a favorite of mine for years but I haven't shopped there for over a decade.

Well stocked is a bigger Safeway then most bakery selection is the S#*%, lots of parking. Downside is that most cosmetics and OTC medication are all locked up and you have to wait for ever to get help getting what you need. Staff are suspicious of most everyone due to the rampant theft because this Safeway is located 5min from bart station so as long as your not up to no good and dont mind 10 minute wait to get what you need out of locked portion then this is good place for you to shop if your in a rush I'd probably go else where if you need any of the stuff that's under ? and ?️
