I have been banking with Star One Credit Union in the past several years and I am very happy with them. My mother and my son also opened accounts at Star One upon my recommendation. I feel Star One is way better than any of the other major banks we have banked with in the past - Wells Fargo, Chase, and Bank of America. Star One's savings rate is much higher than the major banks, and I don't need to worry about being hit with high fees. Plus they offer very friendly service at the branch with a personable touch that has been lost at the big banks. Recently the tellers at the De Anza branch helped my mother with an IRA account transfer to a brokerage firm. The contra firm demanded various documents (even though the information was included in the statement submitted), and was not being responsive to inquiries. Urmila and Charlton worked with Lina in the IRA department to fulfill the contra firm's requests and got the account trasferred successfully. My kudos to them for going above and beyond to help a customer.

More than eleven years as a very happy customer! I continue to believe Star One Credit Union is the best credit union ever! They are much better than any bank. At the Cupertino branch, the manager Maria and associate Adrian have helped me manage my accounts in a very helpful and professional manner. John has helped me on important wire transfers. The tellers are efficient and friendly. Their money market rate is competitive. The online banking is straightforward and easy to use. They have a refer a friend reward system where both the referrer and the friend each get rewarded. All my friends have appreciated me recommending Star One Credit Union to them. I highly recommend Star One Credit Union.

Very bad customer service, when you need cash from your saving or checking accounts they ask you why you need this for? What you are going to do with money? It’s a joke. Gave you bad attitude. I closed my accounts with this bank. I’m happy I did.

Wonderful experience on two occasions - the latest of which was with Jason. Conducted a transaction with an appointment during COVID times, I still thought it would take 45 minutes. The entire staff is helpful and ensures member safety with their distancing and cleanliness protocols! Jason was welcoming, attentive, helpful and kind and I definitely appreciate it with the holidays and unprecedented times. Thanks StarOne!

I visited this branch around noon yesterday (7/10/2020) to get some questions answered about my Star One account before I move to another state. When I first walked up to the door a friendly employee was manning the front door and informed me that entering the building was by appointment only, and that I’d have to book an appointment online. He also said if I had a problem then to let him know so that he could take care of me.I went back to my car and accessed the website on my phone to book an appointment but the next availability wouldn’t be for 4 more hours, which didn’t work for me and so I returned to the friendly deputy doorman. He listened to me explain that I was unavailable for the later appointments, and I said that my questions were brief and regarded the fact that I am leaving the area in a week and time was not on my side. The doorman connected me to John B from Member Services who said he could help me out and took me to his desk.I had a list of questions to ask about my account and had to make some changes, and John was a huge help and took care of all my questions showing his patience and professionalism. He even went the extra mile and looked up local credit unions near my new out-of state address before I had a chance to ask about accessing my account via partner credit unions.It was the most incredible bank visit I’ve ever had and I’ve become a Star One customer for life. I wish I caught the name of the deputy at the door, all I can say is he’s lived on the Gulf Coast. Also when I was leaving he helped me avoid close contact with someone who didn’t have their mask on. 10/10 to both John B and the friendly employee at the door.

I recently completed the purchase of my first home through a loan with Star One. My application started on May 6th and I was given the keys to my new home on June 30th. My loan officer was Maricela--she was professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and answered every question I asked. I live in southern California and her ability to follow-up in a timely manner made it seem like Star One was local rather than hours away. I really appreciate her attentiveness and the extra effort she put into helping me throughout the process.

Worst bank on the planet,if you are underbanked do not accept a check for payment,the wont cash it unless your a customer,what a joke everytime I need to cash a check at this bank it's nothing but problems,worst bank ever,they suck so bad

I have been banking with Star One since I was a teenager. Their services are wonderful, and their employees are very helpful. Recently I encountered fraudulent charges from a company which I had a loan for furniture. Kevin helped me investigate that company, and helped me block them from further withdrawals, as he saw this company has done this with other people. They were billing me outside of a signed contract, which Kevin said was illegal. I have been fighting with this company since July in regards to my account being paid off. Even after their admission of their mistake, they sent me to collections, and ruin my credit score. As of Tuesday this week, and after help from Star One, I was able to finally get everything with the said company resolved. They are in the process of fixing everything, and are getting my credit back to normal. Had it not been for the diligence of Kevin, I would have not known this company's history of fraud. I appreciate all the help, and would recommend this bank to anyone. They also have the lowest rates, great offers for loans, and provide free tax services for clients.
